4 elf guards came in to the room. "Your Majesty the spiders are attacking."

Thranduil got up from his seat. "Spiders? Didn't those disgusting creatures vanish after the war?"

"No your Majesty, it seems like they did not." the guard answered.

"Get all solders ready and prepare to defend. Get all the injured and young ones safe."

"Yes your Majesty!"

"And someone bring me my sword!"

Bard had also got up from his seat. "I can help and I want to."

"No you will not king of Dale-"

Bard didn't let the other king finish his sentence "I know you don't trust me but I can help, just let me have my bow and arrows!"

"No, i will not let you help us. Take this man away from here!" Thranduil ordered before hurrying away with a few guards.

One guard grabbed Bard and started to drag him through the castle corridors. Bard tried to get out of the elf's grip but it was useless. He was just dragged along the hallways towards his room until Legolas walked towards them in a hurry and stopped them.

"Give the king of Dale to me." Legolas said to the guard.

"I have direct orders from the king to take him away." The guard responted.

"And now you have direct orders from the crown prince. Give him to me." Legolas said again but in a sterner voice this time.

Yet another scream could be heard. Did it come from an elf or a spider? That was uncertain.

"Now." Legolas raised his voice.

"As you wish." The guard let go of Bard bowing quickly and hurrying away.

"Why did you do that?" Bard asked

"Come with me king of Dale. I know you can help us, but i also know father won't like it."

"What is needed from me?" Bard asked.

"Your talent with a bow and willingness to fight." Legolas answered.

"I don't have my bow with me nor my arrows." Bard replied frustrated

Legolas went behind a corner and bought Bard his bow and arrows.

"Why..?" Bard asked

"I trust you Bard, you have a good heart and you are a good fighter. I saw you at the war."

Legolas then gave Bard his bow and arrows. "Thank you Legolas..." Bard thanked.

"We need-" Legolas started but didn't get to finish before a giant spider climbed in through the window.

Legolas turned to kill the spider but somehow Bard reacted first. He shot the spider in it's head killing it instantly.

Legolas turned to look at Bard. "Thank you, you really do have skill. But we have to hurry and help the others."

Bard nodded and both him and Legolas started to run towards the castles front door.

When they got there everything was in chaos. The spiders were attacking everything in sight. The elves were trying to fight back, but since they were surprised from the attack and there were too many spiders it almost seemed hopeless.

A spider ran towards Bard and he shot an arrow straight to it's head, but it was no use because another spider was already attacking. Legolas was also busy with another spider that was trying to give him a fathal bite.
