Bard walked in to the same room he had spend the nights the last time he was here. And when he looked around he saw that nothing had changed. The books he had been reading were still on the table. the room had been cleaned but nothing hadn't been moved.
Bard walked up to the table and lifted up a book with a red cover. He walked to the window and opened the book with the intensions of reading it, but didn't get very far because someone knocked on the door.
Bard closed the book. "Yes? Come in."
The door opened and Thranduil walked in.
"Thranduil..." Bard but the book down and looked at Thranduil.
"Bard." Thranduil looked him in the eyes and Bard didn't know what his gaze meant. It was kind of soft but still stiff. And maybe a hint of uncertainty.
"Why have you come here?" Bard asked.
"I have come here to talk. There are some things we need to talk about."
"Yes, I suppose there are."
But after Bard spoke there was a silence, it was rather uncomfortable.
"Bard-" Thranduil starter but Bard cut him.
"A little while ago Legolas and I had a conversation, he told me about some things." Bard quickly said.
"What did you talk about?"
"Well he told me what this meant." Bard pulled the piece of Thranduils crown from his pocket. "Now I know what this means and I won't take it lightly. I am not sure how did this all happen." Bard looked down. "But I do have to ask why would you give me of all the people something like this, and why now?"
Thranduil walked towards the bed and sat down sighing. "When we were at the war I admired how brave you were even when you really did not have a ground to stand on. Also the day when the spiders attacked you saved me. At that time I was shamed of it, because I made a mistake that should have costed me my life. But after you saved and were injured yourself I noticed how strong you could really be and how strong the mankind could be. That opened my eyes and I also began to look you in another way, why did that happen? I do not have any clue." Thranduil shook his head.
"I know mankind looks down upon people who have same sex relationships unlike many of the elves. And because you are a man and a king it was unlikely that you would want anything to do with me. And it was selfish of me to just give the piece of my crown to you without you knowing what it meant."
Bard listened to everything Thranduil said in silence until he had spoken his peace.
Bard walked up to the bed and sat beside Thranduil. "I just need to ask have your thoughts about mankind changed?"
Tharanduil looked away. "I always thought that mankind were selfish and after the dwarves kept the white jewelers my trust for all other species was broken. I believed that everyone was selfish, but after all that you have done my views have changed."
Bard held the crown piece in his hand. "Even now when I know what this means I do not want to get rid of it. I am not sure why I am feeling like this, but I would like to find out... What I mean is I would like to also start courting you, heh, that sounds really weird..." Bard shook his head
"Weird?" Thranduil asked
"Well we call it dating. Sometimes it can be something with marriage in mind and sometimes it can just be two people dating and having fun without a goal."
"I see..."
"Anyhow... Where should I put the piece of your crown?" Bard asked
"Well Ideally you would have a head piece and that would be attached to it." Thranduil explained.
"I do not even have a crown of my own." Bard chuckled.
"How about I would have the craftsmen make you an ear piece?" Thranduil suggested
"That would sound good... But what should I give you?"
"You do not have to give me anything, it is not necessary."
"Then how about I make you a braid?" Bard asked
Thranduil looked a little uncomfortable.
"Too much?"
"No, it is fine, as long as you won't pull my hair."
"I promise." Bard said. "And could I put some yarn to your hair? It is something the women In our village do? Well also some men have taken their liking to it..."
"It is fine."
"Great, wait just a moment." Bard got up from the bed and walked to the self picking up a green yarn and cutting it to just the right length. He walked back to the bed sitting down.
Thranduil turned around, and Bard started the braid from behind his ear and braided Thranduils hair all the way down.
After it was done Bard moved away. "There, does it look good?"
Thranduil got up and walked to the mirror that was on the table. "Yes it looks good."
"Good, but now that you have that braid everyone is going to know that something is going on."
"Yes, but the elves are okay with it. Or they will be after a while, they do not dare to challenge my authority and my life choices. After all I have been their king for many years."
"Yes, but it will be close to a scandal when the people of Dale find out."
"If it comes to that then I will happily make room for you and your family to live here."
"Yes... But let's hope it does not go to that..." Bard said quietly.
"Yes, and Bard?"
"Yes?" Bard looked Thranduil in the eyes.
"Would you mind if I kiss you? Last time I did not ask and now I feel it was quite inappropriate."
Bard got up from the bed and walked towards Thranduil leaning in and kissing him. Bard put his hands on Thranduils cheeks and Thranduils hands wandered to his waist.
To be continued...
Hello, hello. I would like to know what do you think I should do about smut? Would you like to have a chapter with smut on it or not?
