It had been a month since Bard came back from Mirkwood and Dale was looking much better, mankind had real buildings that they could call homes. They had food and some children were already studying.

It was early in to the morning and Bard was standing on the lakes shore looking at some papers, among them was a letter from Thranduil. In the letter he asked when the first batch of fish would be delivered. Bard hadn't answered yet because he didn't know what to answer, they had been fishing for a week now and only some common fish were found. But Bard already knew that, as for few months of the year the Swanfish would disappear deeb in to the lake, of course he hadn't mentioned this to Thranduil.

"My king! We finally caught the fish that was wanted!" A fisherman yelled from the shore carrying a net full of fish with three other men.

Bard put his papers down. "Wonderful! But them quickly in the rock container we commissioned the dwars to make."

"Yes my king." The fishermen carried all of the fish to a carriage that had a rock container to keep the fish from rotting.

Bard turned back to his papers, reading them over and over.

"Bard, here you are. Bain is looking for you." Bard turned around and saw Legolas walking up to him.

"Legolas, thank you for telling me."

"No problem, I also have something to ask from you."

"What is it Legolas?" Bard asked

"Have you replied to my father?"

"No, but speaking of that. You don't happen to have a message hawk with you, do you? I have a letter to Thranduil after I write it..."

Legolas took a whistle out of his pocket and blew on it. A hawk flew to his shoulder. "After you have a message written I shall let him on his way."

"Great, just wait a moment." Bard quickly took a clean piece of parchment, a pen and a book. He used the book as a table and began to write. 'From King of Dale to King of Mirkwood. Good evening your Majesty, We have finally gathered the Swanfish you wanted and we will leave today to deliver them to you per. our contract. I will be one of the men who will deliver the fish along with a few of Dales men and your son Legolas. We will arrive tomorrow, hopefully the fish are up to your standards.' "There." Bard said rolling the parchment and giving it to Legolas.

"I am coming with you?" He asked as he was tying the message to the hawks foot.

"Yes, well it is good to see your father after some time. And I have to admit I am scared to go alone..." Bard said looking at the ground.

Legolas send the hawk on his way. "Why are you scared? Are you going to talk with father?"

"Yes, I am. And that isn't the reason why I want you there. The reason is that, if I don't bring you along someone would either lose their mind or accusing of me for your kidnapping. I think this will be the best for all of us."

"Yes, I guess you are right Bard. Now shall I get packed so we can leave?"

"Yes." Bard turned around. "Listen up people, I want three fishermen to come with me and Legolas as we leave from Dale. We are going to be away for three days and we will leave in an hour. If you are willing to go, come to me and then get packing."

"Yes!" The fishermen yelled.

Two young and an older man walked up to Bard and Legolas. "Me and my sons are coming with you your Majesty."

"Thank you. Let's meet at the gates, I will have the carriage ready."

The three men nodded and started walking up the hill to Dale.

"Now let's get this horse to the gates so we can also pack." Bard took al the papers from the table and but them in a bag he had with him. Then he went to the horses and the carriage and led the horses to the gates with Legolas right beside him.

Bard, legolas and the three fishermen were at the gates of Mirkwood. The sun was up high and they had spend the night under the stars and all of them were pretty tired since one had to always keep watch on the carriage.

"Who is there?!" An elf guard yelled.

"I am The king of Dale, and with me is Legolas, the prince of Mirkwood and also three of Dales fishermen. We are here to deliver an order that his Majesty, king Thranduil placed for us."

The gates opened after bard finished speaking. And another elf guard walked up to the. "Yes, I was informed of your arrival. Welcome your Highness and King of Dale, I shall take the carriage and you will be guided to the throne room."

"Thank you." Bard nodded.

They left the carriage with the elf guard while yet another one guided them to Thrnaduil who was in the throne room.

"Good evening father." Legolas was the fist one to speak up after they had entered the throne room.

"Hello Legolas. I assume your journey wasn't too exhausting?" He asked

"No, It wasn't. Everything went smoothly." Legolas answered.

"Good, now how is the fish you brought here?"

Bard stepped forward. "All is good your Majesty. It is the best quality there is."

"I shall hope so. Now I will give each of you your room for the night, have a nice day." Thranduil finished his sentence with a cold feeling and left after that.

Two guards came in and escorted Bard and the three fishermen to their rooms.
