Ros, eyes wide and breathless, suddenly bursts into the room. Baelish and I jump apart. But Ros doesn't even seem to notice that she's interrupted a private moment. She's in shock.
"Ros? What's the matter?"
"Megane... Her baby..."
"Who?" asks Baelish.
I glare at him. It seems obvious to me that Megane is one of the prostitutes working for him. I was right; he has no regard for these women. They're nothing but transactions in his eyes.
"They've..." Ros continues. "They've killed the baby..."
"Who?" I hasten to ask.
"The commander of..."
"Slynt? Slynt murdered Megane's baby?"
The redhead bursts into tears in my arms. However, I still have questions to ask her; she needs to pull herself together, if only for a second longer.
"Ros. Do you know Megane well? Whose baby was it?"
"The... The king's..." she manages between sobs.
"Go and find Megane, all right? I'll take care of the rest."
I walk her to the sofa then rush out of the room. I race down the stairs leading to the grand halls to find Bronn. He must have been alerted by the noise because, despite having his sword drawn, he hasn't zipped up his trousers yet. I crouch down sharply towards him and grab the dagger hidden in his boot, before announcing: "We're going back to the castle. I've got a few scores to settle."
"Now?"
"A child has just been murdered in front of his mother on the pretext that his father was a first-class bastard too drunk to be able to sleep with his own wife. So yes, Bronn, now!"
"After you, Your Majesty."
No sooner have I set foot outside than Petyr's voice rings out behind me.
"You can't go out alone. It's dark outside."
"I'm not alone. And it's not as if I'm putting myself in any danger."
"You are the queen."
"Exactly. It's about time the people of this kingdom understood that. I am the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, and I will not let anyone commit such an outrage in my capital again."

When I enter the room, I find a beaming Joffrey surrounded by maids preparing him for bed.
"Get out."
That's all it takes for them to rush towards the door. I cannot help but notice their relieved expressions every time I enter this room. Joffrey, despite his surprised look, makes no protest. He must already have understood the source of my irritation.
"I told you not to act," I snap at him. "I told you to leave those children in peace."
"I don't have to obey you. I am the king."
I cross the few metres between us and turn to face him. Joffrey, for his part, straightens up to make himself look as tall as he can. We're both ready for this argument. However, when I find myself face to face with him, I can feel my eyes filling with tears.
"Diana?"
"I... I saw the baby..."
"Are you... crying...?"
