Artemis' POV

  

I watched as Jas and Claire entered the cafeteria. Jas' arm was around Claire's shoulder and Claire was holding a bouquet of flowers. I smiled as they approached us and I gave Claire the look.

She rolled her eyes and I guess the DTR-ing was a success.

"What's wrong with them?" Jas asked as they sat together.

"Okay let's get this straight," Adrian said with a weird tone, "You guys said August was killing a squirrel right?"

"Yes!" Liz and August said together.

"Uh-oh, not this one again." Claire sighed.

I was eating my fries faster than the ordinary chewing and savouring the food, before swallowing. But now, all I did was swallowing and I realized that after I choked. I looked for my drink and found it empty.

"They still can't get over last night?" Jas frowned "August was just kneeling before Liz. As to what I think, there's nothing crazy about it."

"Or maybe, they're hiding something." Adrian said.

I looked at Adrian, you can't really hide something from this guy can you? I mean, I'm August's girl, okay? And Liz's my friend, and it didn't even affect me...or maybe a little, but who cares?

"Adrian? Can we please stop it already?" I said.

"What truth?" Liz asked "You're crazy, you know that? You know what, say what you wanna say, we are a group here. Angel, Artemis, Claire and I had been friends since like forever. You being bias wouldn't mess our friendship. We can all be honest here."

I rolled my eyes and reached for Angel's coke. She's not even drinking it because she was too focused on saying something to North, who seem to like every bit of it.  I drank her coke, feeling the heat going down my throat.

Adrian nodded and said, "Let me tell you something. I heard you and August talking. And you told me to say what I wanna say, right? Well then let's talk about honesty. Now who was this Cedric guy I hear and why is he coming and who's a spy?"

Coke drenched Claire, who was siting opposite me, in the face, as it spurted out of my mouth. I looked at Adrian with a gape, then to Liz and August.

Everyone looked like they stopped breathing except Jas, North and Adrian. Claire, Angel, Liz and August stared at Adrian then at me. My heart was beating fast like I had swallowed a drum and it kept on thudding in my chest. My head felt hot like it's going to explode in any minute.

"What did you say?" I asked Adrian who looked really innocent, like he had no clue of what he had just said.

Liz was breathing abnormally and she looked like she wanted to kill Adrian violently. She looked at August meaningfully, but August couldn't even look at anyone.

Many ideas swept through my mind and I slowly got it all into pieces.

I opened my mouth to say something but I couldn't just articulate everything that I wanted to say. Well, they said Cedric was coming here, and I'm beginning to panic tremendously. I mean, how the hell would Adrian know all of these things if it wasn't true, unless he actually heard it on someone? And it made sense, they would send a spy to know all the things going on in here. Now all I wanna know is who the spy is, and why Liz and August are a part of it.

"I heard them" Adrian looked at us weirdly, probably digesting why we were reacting this way, "They were panicking because this Cedric guy is coming and that---"
