Hey guys. Since Lizzie and Angel are still busy....well, I updated :)) So Project Cupid is about a normal day without all the magic thingy. Just a normal "date" or let's say, a day of our couples together. So this one's about Artemis and August. Sorry if it's tame...or I don't know.
Alrighty, have fun reading!!! ;)
Artemis' POV
“Ms. Mcraile?”
“How many times will I tell you to call me Art---?“ I looked up from what I was reading and saw Ashley carrying a gigantic bouquet of flowers. A frown instantly crept between my eyebrows as I assessed the improbable existence of such wonder.
“Flowers? Who in their right mind would give me flowers?” I asked my 18 year old maid.
“I think you have an admirer Ms.---“
“Artemis.” I cut her off “And no, I wouldn’t. From my experience, those who give me gifts only wanted something from me.”
Ashley bowed her head shyly. I looked at the flowers again until I saw a small white card tucked between a white and pink carnation.
For the start of our forever. That’s it? No initials of who the sender might be? Well I’m guessing it was a guy named Cedric. I mean, start of our forever? Seriously? I didn’t know he could be this cheesy.
I left the flowers on the vase beside my window. Ashley went out of my room and I walked back to my desk.
Even if I made a deal to marry him doesn’t mean he can go around sending me flowers. But what if he was really doing what he said? That he’ll do things to make me fall for him? I rolled my eyes humorously and a smile tugged on my lips.
There is no way he could do that.
Anyway, here I am, doing some advance reading on Trigo since my teacher made it clear that if I don’t show any signs of excellence, well, I’ll be seeing him again next year. As I squeezed my brain for proving identities, my phone suddenly vibrated. I checked the caller and lo, behold, it’s the great pretender.
I glared at the name popping on my phone and I ignored his call. I concentrated on substituting tan with sine over cosine when the phone vibrated again.
I ignored his call thrice, four times, five, even the fifteenth time, and when I couldn’t take it anymore, I answered the phone.
“WHAT?”
“Why aren’t you answering my calls?” August said angrily.
I frowned and gritted my teeth. “I’m studying.”
“I called you 15 times.”
“So what?”
“When a guy calls for 15 times, the rule is to stop ignoring him, and just fcking answer the phone.”
“Why are you angry? And didn’t I tell you, I’m studying! I don’t want to be bothered.”
“Well you could’ve just texted me!”
“And why would I do that? After you betrayed me? After you pretended to be the good guy when all of this time, you were actually Cedric’s brother?”
Silence erupted for about 5 seconds before he spoke again, “I know…and I’m sorry about that.”
Silence again. I didn’t realize that I was writing with a heavy hand in the paper when it tore under my pen. I pouted at the sight of my ruined homework and the thought of rewriting everything again made me cry inside.
