Chapter 63- Shots Fired

Morning sunlight peeks out of my curtains causing me to rub my eyes.

I look over confirming for myself that I slept with Dani. She is still sleeping her lips are curled and her eye brows are furrowed. Almost like she is having a bad dream.

Her little petite body is curled up. I throw the blanket back on top of her as I give her a kiss on her forehead.

This causes her to stir only to switch sides,

Not wanting to wake her up I quietly make my way to the bathroom giving myself a real hard look in the mirror.

My raven hair looks like I just electrocuted and I have dark circles underneath my eyes.

"She can sure tire someone out." Alex voice speaks up from behind me.

"Go away." I whisper not wanting to wake up Dani.

"You just need to accept I am never going away. As long as you're with Dani you will be forever connected to me." Alex states smirking like this is a sick joke.

Her blue eyes look at me in the mirror. I hate that how much I change my look I still look like her. Everywhere I go she is haunting me.

"Give Dani a kiss for me." Alex says waving her hand good bye disappearing.

I throw cold water in my face and grab a towel. She isn't real your mind is playing tricks on you.

Still freaked out I jump when I hear a knock on the bathroom door.

"Are you okay?" Dani asks through the door.

"I'm fine." I tell her not wanting her to worry more than what she has been about me.

"It's weird but I had a dream about Us and Alex when we were children back at summer camp." Dani says making me open the bathroom door wide open.

Taken back Dani golden eyes become wide as quarters with my actions.

"I have to get going I dont want to be late for classes." I say excusing myself from this conversation. This wasn't something I want to talk about first thing in the morning.

"There she is." Lyric greets me at the university entrance.

I stare at her with suspicion because she is acting out of character of herself.

Lyric tucks her raven hair behind her ear with her explaining to me how things operated on her team.

I throw up my hand stopping her dead in her tracks causing her to look at me confused.

"Let's not confuse things here. I can be a team player, but don't mistake it for following your rules." I state narrowing my eyes at her.

I am basically doing everything I wasn't suppose to do right now. Hooking up with Dani, talking with Fiona, and now running my mouth at Matteo's daughter.

I need to a grip on myself before I find myself in bottom of the harbor.

Lyric fake smile drops as she says, "Just because you made the team doesn't mean shit."

Her true colors finally show as she makes a point to nudge me in the shoulder.

Classes seemed to move at a very slow pace. Somehow I still manage to make it through the day.

Now I am in the girls locker room removing my shirt to change into my red jersey.

I hear whistling noises as I pull my shirt down.

Revealing one of Lyric's followers biting her lip suggestively at me making me smirk.

Lyric slaps back of her friend's head and tells her to move along. My smirk is still plastered in my face as I put my long raven hair in a high ponytail.
