Chapter 27- Bad Girl on the Loose

    "I thought you said everyone was down stairs?" Axial scolds instead of begging profusely for Evelyn to forgive her.

    I hold up my hands up in surrender as I didn't want to be in middle of this anymore.

I look at Camila who has the same idea to get the hell out of here when Evelyn blocks our path to freedom.

  Camila knew about this the whole time I just discovered it. Yet to Evelyn it didn't matter we all look at guilty in her lovely eyes.

  "It seems like Axial and you have some stuff to hash out. I was on my way to get you desserts." Camila sweetly replies trying to weasel her way out of this.

  "I need get back to my father." I lamely explain as she looks at both of us like we aren't going anywhere.

  "No one is going anywhere until I get an explanation."  Evelyn states glaring at all of us.

  All our eyes turn to Axial to just come clean with Evelyn.

"Dani has been back in town for a couple weeks now. She wanted to hang out just like old times. I was debating if I should or not. You see back when my family owned the summer camp Dani parents sent her there." Axial goes on to explain making me nod my head for her to continue.

"In the beginning her and I didn't get along. We would always pull pranks on one another. That all changed one afternoon when I saw my twin sister become close with Dani." Axial eyes start to flood with tears talking about her sister.

"Alex was always the good one. She was the one everyone gravitated towards. I was just the opposite of her a no good trouble maker. Eventually Alex confessed to me that she had a crush on Dani and the feelings were mutual." Axial pauses taking a deep breath like remembering this brought back all the pain along with it.

"They were a couple, but back then we was just kids no one took it seriously. When Dani's parents found out they freaked and took her out of summer camp and Alex nor I ever saw her again until she showed up here years later." Axial says looking at Evelyn nervously fidgeting with her hands. This wasn't like her at all.

"When she contacted me I agreed to meet up and one thing led to another with some alcohol involved and shit—- I think she thought I was Alex." Axial finishes breaking down I instantly move both my feet until my arms wraps themselves around her to comfort her.

    The smell of vanilla invades my nose as I continue to hold onto her. I was afraid if I let her go she would just end up falling apart.

    I am too wrapped up in my worry for Axial to pay attention to Camila and Evelyn arguing in the background.

   Whatever Camila told her this time makes Evelyn's eyes flood with tears as she storms out of the room.

    "What did you do?" I question shooting daggers at Camila who looks like she just wants the ground to swallow her whole right now.

  "What haven't I done?" Camila retorts back rushing out the door to find Evelyn. I'm certain whenever she does manage to find her she's going end up getting slapped.

  "What have I done?" Axial manages to get out still sobbing away. 

     Are we the title of a LINKIN Park song or something.

  "It's okay, Axial. Just try take some deep breaths for me." I say stroking her soft raven hair.

   It's a funny feeling that I am the one comforting Axial. Our relationship if you can even call it that has always been physical and less emotional.
