It's now Friday and it's been a few days adjusting to the college life. Oliver drops off even though I keep asking him why couldn't I take myself. Which he ignores me and tells me to have a nice day.Holding up the flyer Ms. Hillock gave me earlier through the week I find the soccer fields.
When it comes to sports I always come prepared. I am wearing my hair up in a high ponytail tail with breathable blue shorts and a red t shirt.
"Look girls, it's Ms. All American." Lyric's voice calls out mocking my appearance.
I ignore her comment making my way to the coach. This wasn't high school and I can't afford a slip up here. As much as I hate it I have to play nice.
Lyric dark hair is held by a messy bun and her blue eyes are challenging me in a way that brings out my competitiveness.
I will show her what I am capable of on the field.
A group of girls follow close behind Lyric as they line up on the field.
Approaching Ms.Hillock she tells me to join the rest of the girls on the field. To say I am thrilled would be an over statement. In fact my adrenaline is pumping with anticipation.
"Welcome everyone for those who don't know me I am Ms.Hillock. I see a few familiar faces have come back to join me for another season." Ms.Hillock states eyeing Lyric who smirks at her.
"Give me twenty laps around the soccer field." She orders blowing her whistle.
Wasting no time I start to run like my dependent on it. I try to control my breathing while going at a nice pace.
"Not half bad." A small petite girl compliments me. I say a small thank you not wanting to be distracted.
"Not half good either." Lyric voice pipes up from the other side of me.
Ignoring her comment I decide to stop playing games and kick it up a notch. Going sonic speed I make both girls eat my dust.
"Good job, ladies." Ms.Hillock compliments taking notice that half the girls are already out of juice just like she wanted.
I knew coaches like her and how they operated. She is trying to eliminate the weakest from the strongest.
"How about we start with scoring in the goalie?" Ms.Hillock asks scanning the remaining girls trying to decide who would be the lucky person.
"Hall." She calls out as I scan the crowd to see who she is addressing.
To my surprise Lyric steps up taking the goalie gear securing her gloves on her hands.
"This is going to be good." A nearby girl pipes up with excitement.
I don't understand why everyone seems obsessed with this Lyric girl. It's like I am in high school all over again with another Camila Steele.
We all line up trying to kick the soccer ball in the goalie. Key word trying Lyric has been dominating the title goal keeper.
"You going shoot your shot?" She shouts teasingly at me with that damn smirk.
It's time to wipe that smug look off her face. I position my feet acting like I'm going to kick it with my left when I switch the ball to my right kicking it.
Lyric tries her best to catch it when it flies right by her into the net.
Their is a moment of silence before the coach blows her whistle signaling for us to gather around.
