"Ah-ah-ah... You already keep an Expired Soul alive for no good reason. Are you really also going to take a soul that hasn't even reached its time yet?" Grim challenged, reminding Death of the grave sin he had committed in maintaining the Laws of Life.

Death looks back at him with a glare, before he stands up and hides his weapon. "You... You made a deal with that human, didn't you? I could sense your presence all over her. It's like you took hold of her entire life and made it so she would do anything you ask her to."

Grim laughs aloud once at the suspicion thrown at him. "Do I seem like I have the abilities to do such a thing? I am merely a grim reaper like you, Death. Unless... you would confess that you are still too young to know that grim reapers can't control minds."

"You don't get to look down on me just because your term has been longer!" Death raises his voice as he replies, summoning an amused smirk on Grim's face ashe watches him. "Your term is only longer because you've done a grave sin in one of your earlier lives. It does not warrant you to treat me with disrespect."

"... 'Disrespect'?" Grim scoffs at the word, before his expression turns cold and his eyes glow in the darkest light ever to exist. Slowly, his weapon appears in his hand as he looks on dangerously at Death. "This is why I hate people like you... You just got lucky enough to go up the rankings quickly, and now you're looking down on everyone like it was all you... You make me sick!"

Grim's rope suddenly flies towards Death, going to hit his face but the latter summons his weapon and holds it up in the way to neutralize Grim's attack. In return, the rope ties itself around Death's bow, before Grim yanks on it and successfully pulls it out of Death's hand, rendering him with no defense of any sort. A smirk forms on his face as he grabs onto the bow and then goes to attack Death with his rope again.

Whack!

He misses, right after Death jumps out of the way and his rope hits the ground instead.

"Tch!" Grim sneers at the actions of his opponent, before he draws his weapon back again and looks at Death who had gone too far away from him... and too far away to retrieve his own weapon. "Come at me now. Show me that you can still fight even without your weapon! Show me... that you are truly deserving of the title of the First Messenger!"

Grim raises his weapon again, and whips the ground nearest to Death, causing the latter to jump from his place again, before running towards Grim. Seeing this, Grim's eyes glow with delight as he pulls his weapon back again, only to let it hang onto Death's leg and pull him down to the ground.

"Umph!" Death grunts as he falls and hits the ground, quickly looking down before he sees Grim's weapon tied around his ankle like a snake.

Grim laughs, his voice echoing as he approaches the failed Messenger. "As expected. Young ones like you are always more bark than bite. How pathetic." And then he drops Death's bow right in front of him as he retrieves his own weapon and then lets it disappear. He smirks in satisfaction as he looks down at Death, the latter now glaring at him as if he refuses to get up yet.

"You're ruthless. That's why you're the Second Messenger–"

"I AM RUTHLESS AND THAT IS WHY I WAS THE FIRST MESSENGER! Before you came, and stole my position like it was all just some silly child's play!"

"I gained my position through fair trials."

"No?" Grim replied, before he grabbed Death's bow and pointed one end at Death's neck just as the latter finally sat up. "You gained your position because you were lucky to be born a prodigy... You're too soft. And because of that you will never be able to protect anyone you wish to. Not that Expired Soul. Not her family. Not her friends... Not even that soulless human you made another deal with."
