When Suyeon woke up the next day, confusion takes over her when she finds herself still on the couch she slept on yesterday, but now with a blanket over her. "Did Mom come by?" she wonders as she slowly sits up and looks around while rubbing her eyes.

Still, not a single person, human or non-human, is in sight. It leaves the young woman disappointed for a moment, before she becomes confused again as she grips the edge of the blanket that covers her.

"... Huh. Wonder if it's actually that guy that did this." She raises her gaze, and she looks up again as if expecting to see Death floating near the ceilings. "He's still nowhere to be seen, though."

Eventually, she gets up and decides to start cleaning around the house.

. . .

Suyeon Bae is the youngest among her siblings - five of them - and the only girl, and the only one who, so far, hasn't really made much achievements in her life yet.

For those reasons, especially the second and the third, Suyeon had always believed that her father didn't like her. All her life, he always felt distant, cold, or if anything, it just seemed like he didn't know how to take care of her.

"He's just awkward because you're his first daughter. He'll come around eventually."

That's what Suyeon's mother always told her when she was still young and easy to convince. Her father never actually "came around" as she said, however, and that just made their relationship even worse as Suyeon got into her rebellious high school years, and even up to her distant college days... until now.

. . .

[Heyyyy... How have you been?]

Hyunjin's cautious tone still manages to slip through his cheerful one as he speaks through the phone. The day had passed by quickly after Suyeon made herself busy, but so far, she still hasn't realized what exactly she wanted to do with her remaining time.

"It feels lonely," she eventually confessed as she sat on the sofa in the living room, legs crossed and her head leaning against the backrest amd looking up at the ceiling. "Mom still won't come home, and no one would call me... except you, of course... To be honest, I think everyone's just forgotten I exist because I haven't come home in so long. I guess it won't take long until a burglar assumes no one's inside the house and try to rob it while I'm inside."

[Hey, come on now. Don't say that!]

"You know it's true. And I don't think that grim reaper that shot an arrow at me is even around anymore," Suyeon continues. She pauses, seeing if Hyunjin has anything to say, but even her friend seems unable to say anything anymore either. And then Suyeon hears Hyunjin sigh.

[Hey. You know I can come over if you need someone, right?]

Hyunjin sounds serious as he speaks, but Suyeon doesn't return the mood as she replies with a chuckle.

"Oh, you know I can't make you do that. You still have your studies, after all."

[Why does that matter??]

Hyunjin now sounds rather annoyed as he speaks.

[I'm a grim reaper! I've been young all my life and I'll stay young long enough so I can just drop my course today and pursue it later! Why should my studies be a reason I can't come?!]
