ISABELLA'S POV:
"No! I won't stop today. Why is it always me, Mom? Why am I the one who always has to stop? Why don't you say anything to her? Why always me?" I yelled, my voice shaking with frustration.
Another slap landed on my cheek.
"So now you're questioning me?" Mom sneered.
"Yes, I will question you! Tell me, why did you do this to me? Why am I always the one who has to sacrifice everything? Why don't you ever scold Bianca and Emma? Why is it always me?" My voice cracked as anger boiled inside me.
------------------------------------------------------
THIRD-PERSON POV:
"Isabella, stay in your limits. Don't you dare bring my daughters into this!" Francesca hissed through gritted teeth.
"Your daughters?" Isabella let out a bitter chuckle. "And who am I? Am I not your daughter?"
"Isabella, don't talk back to your mother," Dario interjected, stepping in.
"You have no right to tell me what I can or cannot do," Isabella shot back, glaring at him.
Everyone stood frozen, torn between worry and anger. Isabella's voice dripped with pain, and her eyes screamed untold anguish. Eleanor, sensing the weight of the moment, raised a hand to stop anyone from intervening.
"Let her release it all," Eleanor said firmly.
As the others waited for Isabella to purge her feelings, the older siblings began planning ways to deal with the Contis.
"Why, Mom? Why don't you love me?" Isabella's voice trembled, her tear-filled eyes piercing Francesca, who looked away.
"Why do you always choose Bianca over me?" she asked again, her voice cracking.
"Isabella, stop this drama!" Francesca yelled.
"Drama?" Isabella's lips curled into a sad smile. "You think this is a drama? Let me remind you, Mom. I was just seven when Bianca fell in the garden, and you consoled her like the perfect mother. Then we went out for ice cream—you bought her and Emma their cones but forgot about me. I stayed quiet".
"When I was nine, you forgot my birthday and went to Bianca's school camp instead. When I was eleven, you started making me do household chores and scolded me for no reason. Every time it was Bianca's or Emma's fault, I was the one you punished".
"In fifth grade, I got first rank, and there was a school function in the evening. Everyone's parents were there—but not mine. You took Bianca and Emma to the amusement park instead".
"When I turned twelve, you hit me for the first time. Do you even remember what day it was? My birthday! You slapped me because I asked you to take me out to dinner. From then on, you treated me like trash. You insulted me, gave me depression, and made me feel worthless".
"You talk about Bianca as if she's an angel, but she bullied me in school, Mom. And you—you were too busy taking out your anger on me to even notice. Why, Mom? Why did you treat me like this? What did I ever do to you?"
Tears streamed down Isabella's face as she poured out years of bottled-up pain.
"Isabella—" Francesca began, but before she could say another word, Isabella ran out of the room.
------------------------------------------------
"Enough, Francesca!" Anthony's voice thundered, silencing the room. "Because of you, my granddaughter has suffered. Pack your bags and get out before I make you and your family beg for death."
"Never show your face to my daughter again, or I will rip you apart," Leonardo growled dangerously. "You treated my princess like a maid—a piece of trash. If you weren't able to raise her then you would have given her to me before only. Leave my house before I do something you'll regret."
Isabella ran to the dance room, locking herself inside. She blasted the music and began dancing with raw, unbridled emotion.
The young Romano clan gathered outside, calling her name, but she didn't stop. An hour passed, her feet bleeding as shards of broken vases pierced her skin.
"Let her have some space," Matt suggested.
"But she's hurting herself!" Ethan protested.
"Andreano is the only one she'll listen to," Aure said.
They all nodded and rushed to Andreano's office.
---------------------------------------------------------
ANDREANO'S POV:
I was furious—no, livid. All this time, we were enjoying our lives while my baby sister suffered in silence. Our own mother caused her this pain. She never said a word to us. Did she not trust us enough?
It didn't matter now. The moment she ran out, I sent Daniel to check on her. But when my brothers barged into my office again, this time with Gray, I knew something was seriously wrong.
"Bella is hurting herself!" Gray blurted out. My heart sank.
When we reached the dance room, I saw her bleeding and dancing like she wanted to destroy herself. I stepped forward, grabbed her hands, and held her tightly. She tried to fight me off, but who was she kidding? I hugged her, and she hit my chest, screaming, "Why, Mom? Why me? Why do you always choose her over me?"
Her cries shattered my heart. Liam joined the hug, and together we held her until she collapsed, exhausted and broken.
--------------------------------------------------
Three hours later, she stirred awake. Her tear-filled eyes met mine before she looked away. I moved closer and hugged her.
"I'm sorry, baby. I wasn't there when you needed me," I whispered.
"It's not your fault, Ande," she said softly, pulling back.
"Dad?" she asked, turning to him.
"Why did you abandon me?"
------------------------------------------------
Author Note:
What a heartbreaking chapter! Isabella's pain is so raw and real—she's incredibly brave to have survived all this.
Why do you think she asked her father that question? Was she truly abandoned, or is there more to the story? Share your guesses and favorite parts in the comments!
Next part is coming soon!
