Arizona's POV:

We sit and talk about our days and suddenly y/n gets a phone call.

"Hey April, is everything okay?" theres a pause. "Woah, breathe, what's happened?" Y/n says calmly but I can tell she's worrying. "April, what do you mean something's happened to Harriet?" I stand up and walk over to y/n at the mention of April and Jackson's daughter. "Okay, we are on our way." Y/n hangs up the phone. "Can you ask Jill from next door to watch Sofia because we need to get to Aprils." Y/n says as I run out the door and knock on Jill's door.

"Hi Jill, I'm so sorry to disturb you but we've just been paged into work and we have nobody to watch Sofia-" I begin before Jill interrupts. "of course I can watch Sofia." She follows me back to the house. "Thank you so much, you know where everything is?" I ask. "Yeah, and I've got both of your numbers if I need to call you. Now go, go be doctors!" Jill says, ushering us out of the door.

Y/N's POV:

"April said that she's come down in a fever of 106 and she's stressing so we need to get to her and Harriet." I say. Arizona drives towards April's house. The time felt like it was passing by extremely slowly but in fact it only took 8 minutes to get to April. I run to the door while Arizona gets our bags from the car. I knock on the door but before my second knock April is already at the door. "I don't know what's wrong, she was fine when we picked her up from daycare but as soon as we got home she got a fever and then it started getting worse and Jackson has the car, I didn't want to call an ambulance and you guys were my first thought because your peds doctors." April rambles on. "Woah April, breathe, pass Harriet to me and go and sit with y/n." Arizona says taking Harriet from April.

I walk April to the living room and sit with her. "Right I need you to breathe okay, she's going to be fine, Arizona's the best and we ALL know that. She couldn't be in better hands" I rub her back while she cries. "I just don't know what's wrong, I can't lose her-" April begins. "And you won't lose her." I keep switching my eyes between April and Arizona. Suddenly the front door swings open and Jackson runs in. "What's happened? Is Harriet okay?" He says talking to Arizona. "Go and sit with y/n and your wife." Arizona says as I stand up and take Jackson's hand. "You've got to let Arizona do the full work up okay, I'll make you both a glass of water." I walk away towards the kitchen as Arizona waves me over.

I quickly make the water and hand them to April and Jackson. I head over to Arizona who is currently finishing up the work up on Harriet. "We need to get her to the hospital, now, I'm not 100 percent sure what it is but we can do tests at the hospital." Arizona says quietly, not wanting to alarm April and Jackson. "Wait how high is her fever?" I ask. "106 why?" I look at Arizona. "In an adult a fever of 106 is life threatening so we need to get her in NOW!" I say as I start sorting the bags. "We are going to take her to the hospital now, you need to meet us there." I take the car keys as Arizona tells Jackson and April. I start the car while Arizona keeps hold of Harriet and keeps checking her temperature. We were calling ahead to warn the hospital. Arizona also called Jo to keep April and Jackson calm while we worked on Harriet.

We pulled into the hospital and I ran inside and grabbed a cot for Harriet while Arizona got her out of the car. Jackson and April ran inside with Arizona and were greeted by Jo. "Right, I'm going to take you two up to the waiting room." Jo says leading them away while me and Arizona make our way up to the peds floor. "Karev! Order a CT, MRI and an ultrasound please" Arizona shouts over. "Who for?" he says as he begins ordering it on his tablet. "Harriet Kepner-Avery" I shout as we push the cot into a paediatric trauma room. Karev immediately starts ordering every test and brings in the ultrasound machine. Arizona begins the ultrasound on the petite child in front of her.

After the ultrasound and MRI we don't see any issues so we carry on with the final test of a head CT. We manage to get a good image and it's clear. We managed to bring down her temperature with some IV fluids and a light blanket. "I'm going to get April and Jackson." I say as I head towards the waiting room. As I enter the room of news awaiting parents I see April and Jackson come towards me. "Is she okay?" April says as she takes my hands. "She's fine, we've managed to bring her fever down but we want to keep her in overnight for monitoring." I explain. "Can we see her?" An anxious Jackson asks. "Yeah, I'll take you to her now." I say. April pulls me into a tight hug. I hug her until she lets go because I know how much she was worrying. She pulls away and wipes her eyes. "Right, lets go see our baby!" April says as she takes Jacksons hand. I lead them and Jo towards the peds floor where Arizona is checking Harriets levels.

"Hey, she looks worse for wear because we've done all of the tests. She is fine. She just had a very high fever, there is nothing deadly wrong. She has slapped cheek but it was quite a high fever so we completely understand why you called us. You made the right call. She needs sleep but you can stay with her." Arizona explains. Arizona, Jo and I take a step away from the family as they all sit together. "I've spoken to Karev too keep checking up on Harriet. He's got both of us on speed dial so we can head home." I said to Arizona as we headed towards the nurses station where we flung our things. We take our bags towards the exit and head out into the cool breezy evening. On the drive home we talk about the future.

Arizona starts talking about how she is desperate to go to Paris. I keep note of all of the times she says it. "I love how passionate and excited you get when you talk about Paris." I say placing my hand on her thigh as I drive down the freeway. I feel her gaze shift from the window, to my hand, to my face. "What are you looking at?" I ask as I feel her beautiful blue eyes rest on my face. "Just the view." She replies as she places her hand on top of my hand. We pull into our road and she starts rummaging for her keys. "Zona" I say. "Huh?" she replies. "The keys are in the ignition with the car keys." I say with a giggle. "Oh, it's been a long night" She says with a giggle.

The door opens to Jill holding two cups of tea. "Oh Jill, you didn't have to do that." I say as I take the cup off her. "Of course I did, you've worked hard tonight." She says while handing Arizona her cup. "Did Sofia bother you at all?" Arizona asks. "She came down for a glass of water about 20 mins ago but other than that she's been great." Jill responds. "Well thank you so much for keeping an eye on her for us. We picked up some flowers on the way back to thank you." I say as I hand her the small bouquet of tulips. "Oh, why thank you. I'm always happy to watch Sofia for you, she's an angel." Jill replies before we let her head home.

I place the two, now empty, mugs into the dishwasher and turning it on before locking up the house and making my way up the stairs. I find Arizona giving Sofia a goodnights kiss. You never know what's going to happen to your pride and joy, after seeing April and Jackson tonight scared about Harriet made me realise how scary parenthood really is. As Arizona steps out of Sofia's room and slowly closes the door behind her she's startled when she see's me leaning against the doorframe to our bedroom. "Oh, hey beautiful, you startled me." Arizona says as she walks over and kisses me. "Sorry, I love you. You can always talk to me you know that." I say as I pull her in by her waist and kiss her. "I know beautiful, but after seeing April and Jackson helpless today, it made me realise how scary it is to be a mom. It's scary when you're here with them but imagine if Sofia got ill when she was with Callie, I'd be on the other side of the country. It's scary." She says as she lets her tears fall. I take her hand and guide her to the bedroom.

We get ourselves into bed and I just hold her. "She's okay, I know that life is unpredictable but the good thing about being a doctor is that all of our friends are doctors. April called us, her friends, because she knew that we were the best people to help her child. We are lucky to have that kind of support system." I felt like I was Sofia's third mom as I began to feel the same feelings Arizona was feeling. We stayed sat in each others arms until we fell asleep.

The sounds of silence pacing the house as Sofia, Arizona and I slept. My whole life, pride and joy is in this house. It's everything.
