Sunday Morning.

Arizona's POV:

Y/n said this morning that at some point she needs to do some studying for her boards which are next week. I offered to take her parents out to lunch, to get to know them better. She agreed. "Arizona, If you or my parents need me, please don't hesitate to call. I'm only studying, not in the actual exam." Y/n said to me before we left. I drove us towards a little deli place for lunch, didn't want to go too fancy, y/n would complain that she didn't come with us if it was fancy.

"Thank you so much for this Arizona, it's nice to spend some time with you." Lucie said. "Aww no worries, I actually wanted to ask you guys something, without y/n knowing." I begin. "Go on..." Ethan encourages. My hands become clammy and I start to get nervous. "I was wondering, if I had your blessing to marry your daughter?" I ask, the question slowly exited my mouth as I was unsure of how they'd respond. "Oh Arizona, of course you can. We can see how much you both love each other, and who are we to step in the way of that!" Lucie starts. "Really? I was so worried, you wouldn't like me or you'd think I'm asking too soon..." I begin to waffle. "Arizona, we'd love for you to be apart of our family. You make our daughter so happy, and we see how happy she makes you too. Also, thank you for asking for our blessing, that means a lot" Ethan reassured. I let out a sigh of relief. I begin to explain the proposal idea to them. The looks of joy, happiness and raw excitement on their faces, I see exactly where y/n gets it from.

We continue our day together and Lucie even offers her engagement ring. "I know how much y/n loves my engagement ring, take it." Lucie says as she hands me her engagement ring. "Are you sure?" I say as I look at the ring that y/n has explained to me multiple times. "Yes, take it. Y/n will be absolutely pleased when she sees that." Lucie reassures. "You know, the amount of times she brings up your engagement ring. I've been trying to find one as similar as I can but it became an impossible task." I begin. "Well, at least we know you will go above and beyond for our daughter" Ethan states. "Oh, always, she means the world to me." I say as I look at my phone lock screen. It's a carousel of pictures of me and y/n since we met. Theres the one of us by the waterfall at the cabin last summer, one of us in the bathroom with face masks on, one that Meredith took of us having a nap in the Attending's lounge and one of y/n pulling a weird face and me laughing. "Your daughter makes my heart flutter with anything she does, I want this to be perfect." I say as I am still looking down at the images on my phone.

As we finish up our lunch and our conversations before I pay and we start walking towards the car. I see a small florist. "I will be one second." I say to Lucie and Ethan before walking towards the petite flower shop on the corner. I see a gorgeous bouquet of roses, tulips, large daisies and chrysanthemums, all in a range of y/n's favourite colours. "How much for this bouquet?" I ask the dainty old lady behind the till. "Ten dollars dear" She replies. I hand her a ten dollar bill and take the flowers back to the car. "Oh those are lovely!" Lucie says as I pass them to her while I begin driving. "I saw them and instantly thought of y/n." I say as a small smile creeps onto my face. "I'm glad y/n found you Arizona. You are exactly the person she's always dreamed about." Ethan says from the back seat.

I pull into the driveway and can see a shadow moving around in the kitchen. We open the door quietly and hear y/n singing along to Taylor Swift, which was playing on full blast out of the Alexa. "I'M DRUNK IN THE BACK OF THE CAR AND ILL CRY LIKE A BABY COMING HOME FROM THE BAR OOOH- hello." Y/n jumps as she sees us. "Alexa volume 3" She whispers to the alexa. We all let out a laugh and I walk over to Y/n and hand her the gorgeous bouquet. "Woah, these are for me" She says as she takes in every scent and colour from the collection of flowers in her hands. "Yeah, they're just as beautiful as you" I say before placing a kiss on her lips. She takes out a vase from beneath the sink and places the large bouquet in the vase before replacing the now dead flowers on the table.
