"I passed!" I shout from the rooftops. "Of course you passed. You were the most prepared." Jo said. "Did you guys pass too?" I ask, now sceptical about my best friends. "Yes! We're all going to be Fellows!" Steph says. I run over to Arizona. "Zona, I passed the boards!" I say and she picks me up and spins me round in a hug. "I'm so so proud of you!" She says as she places a kiss on my forehead. The party starts to die down after 11pm. Everyone has started to head home and Amelia, Teddy, Arizona and I start to take everything inside. "Thank you for setting this up girls" Arizona thanks. "Wait, you guys did this?" I say as I look towards two of my friends. They look at me, "of course. We are so proud of you!" Amelia says as she pulls me into a hug. "Feel free to take any of the food home with you! If not we will probably just bring it to work tomorrow and put it in the Attending's Lounge." Arizona begins. "Wait! Does that mean I can now use the Attending's Lounge?" I say with excitement. The others all burst out laughing, in which I join in.
After we have brought all of the decorations in and put them back into the boxes we let Teddy and Amelia head home, it was still late we weren't expecting them to help take everything down. I put the box of decorations in the cupboard under the stairs and went upstairs to get ready for bed. I pull the covers over myself and start to drift off to sleep. Arizona must've come upstairs about 10 minutes after me, I feel her place a kiss on my forehead before she pulled herself under the covers.
Two months later -
I told all the girls to meet at our place and that we've booked a mini bus to take us to the airport. At 9am all of the girls were at our place and we were waiting for the mini bus. A white mini bus pulled up in front of our house. We all brought our bags to the bus and the driver kindly offered to put all of our cases in the back for us. "Oh just give me a second" Arizona said before running back into the house and coming back out in her denim jacket. Once all of us were in the mini bus I did a quick roll call knowing someone would probably be missing. "Okay, Arizona, Jo, Steph, April, Amelia, Teddy and Myself! Great" I say as I sit down. The driver makes starts driving us towards the airport.
The departures at SeaTac airport was surprisingly quiet. I was able to get us all checked in and our bags all checked within 10 minutes. Once our bags were through we headed to security which didn't take long at all. We then had 2 hours to just chill in the airport because we got through so fast. I went and got us all a McDonalds breakfast from the airport food hall and Arizona went and got everyone their morning coffees. Just sitting in the gate for an hour chatting about life and catching everyone up on events was really nice. "Oh I forgot to ask, how is the fundraising going for the marathon?" April asked as she nudges me. "Well, I'm not actually allowed to have the login details for the GoFundMe because I keep checking too often and get too excited even if we get a dollar" I say while the group laugh. "We've just hit $200,000 which is double our target which is really good considering we still have a couple more months before the marathon." Arizona says. "Well Owen said that he keeps slipping the link into the community newsletter for the hospital and I know that the SNN TV News mention that the link is still open to donate at the end of each newscast." Teddy explains.
We continue talking about life when they finally open the gate. We all make our way onto the plane. We managed to find a flight that had a 7 seat row. So it's a two, a three and a two. Arizona and I sat together, Jo and Steph sat together and then April, Amelia and Teddy sat in the middle. It was a 12 hour flight which we all spent watching films, playing the games on the inflight entertainment and reading, well Teddy read a bit. After the long 12 hour flight we landed in Paris. We had a taxi waiting for us at the airport to drive us to our airbnb. We managed to find a gorgeous 3 bedroom penthouse apartment just a 5 minute walk away from the Eiffel Tower. The taxi drive was about 40 mins because of traffic but it was okay because we arrived at our hotel in time to get onto the balcony to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle.
As a collective we decided to head to bed and that we could stock up the kitchen the next day. Arizona and I had taken the double room and the others decided between them. Teddy and Amelia shared a room, April took the sofa bed and Steph and Jo took the other room. We all went to sleep and woke up at 8am.
There was a supermarket just across the road so we all made our way over to the shop. "Les Incredible Supermarche" Amelia tries to pronounce as we look up at the sign. We all laugh. "What?" Amelia asks thinking she had said it correctly. "You butchered that!" Jo says as she corrects Amelia with the correct pronunciation. We all head inside and I send different people off for different foods. "We'll get the meats, if you and steph go and get the dairy?" I say to Jo. "You guys go and get the bread and eggs" I say towards April and Teddy. "Amelia go and stock up on the snacks" I say. "You got it!" She says as she waltzes her way towards the snacks.
Splitting off around the shop made the grocery shopping a lot easier, we headed back to the apartment and put all the food away before we began exploring. We had booked a boat trip down the Seine which would take us from Pont de Levallois to Notre Dame and then tonight we've booked a restaurant opposite the Eiffel Tower for dinner so we can get to the viewing spot at 9pm to watch it sparkle.
I booked us an uber XL to take us to Pont de Levallois so we can get on the boat. Once we arrived I made sure I had our booking confirmation and that we were all there. As we got onto the boat we were offered champagne or orange juice. We all took a drink and made our way to the top of the boat where we were going to sit. Arizona took pictures of everyone on the boat so we could make cute instagram posts. "You two get one together" Amelia says taking the phone from Arizona. Arizona comes over to me and pulls me into an embrace and kisses me. We get some cute pictures looking at the camera and some lovey dovey ones.
As the boat began to move we all sat down and listened to the tour guide. I'd booked us onto the English speaking boat tour so we could actually understand everything. He pointed out landmarks, interesting facts about buildings, even gave some recommendations of things to do. Once we arrived at Notre Dame we followed a tour guide around showing us all of the statues and artwork throughout and telling stories about things that had happened here but also educating us on what happened with the fire of Notre Dame.
As the tour was drawing to a close I started looking up the bus routes, I was the designated planner for all of our tourist adventures and Arizona was in charge of all things food reservations. Once again we got some pictures in front of Notre Dame Cathedral and then made our way to the bus stop. "There should be a 97 bus in 2 minutes" I say as Amelia sticks her hand out for every random bus. "Amy, I said the 97, not the... 82" I say as I look up at the bus number. "Sorry" I say to the driver.
Once our actual bus arrives we stay on until we get off at the Eiffel Tower. The walk back to the apartment was nothing short of 5 minutes. I took a quick shower and got changed into a nice dress as Arizona had booked a 5 star restaurant. The group of us walk up to this gorgeous 5 star restaurant as Arizona takes the lead. "Hi, we've got a reservation, under the name Robbins?" She says to the host. "Ah yes, right this way please" The tall brunette man says with a slight french accent. We follow him to our table which is situated on the deck overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
Dinner was delicious, I had a starter of spinach and pesto soup, with a main course of ratatouille with a small trifle for desert. Once we had all finished it was coming up to 8.50 and Arizona wanted us to be at the Eiffel Tower for 8.55pm. We paid for our meal and headed towards the viewing spot. The girls were all stood behind with bags because Arizona wanted a picture of us with the Eiffel Tower. At 9pm the Tower started to sparkle and...
