*alarm goes off at 8*

The alarm goes off but it's quiet enough to only wake Arizona and I. We start to let down the airbed and put all of our things away. Jo wakes up and makes us a quick breakfast before we leave. Arizona goes into the bathroom. "Can I ask what actually happened? All I know is something happened between Arizona and Sofia" Jo asks quietly. While watching the bathroom door I begin to explain. "Sofia has been acting out a lot recently and she told Arizona she hated her and wished she had never met Callie" Jo stands there in shock not expecting what I said to be true. "Oh my god! I'm so glad we could cheer her up" Jo replies. "Callie actually came to Seattle and is taking Sofia back to New York with her today which is why we need to leave because Arizona really wants to see her before she goes." I state. "Oh of course, take the pancakes with you." Jo says handing me a small box of pancakes.

Arizona comes out of the bathroom and we grab our bags and quietly leave Jo's apartment. We get into the car and head home. In my peripheral vision I can see Arizona crying. "Hey, you okay?" I ask as I place a hand on her arm. "I love Sofia. I wish she wasn't going back to New York." She cries. "Hey, shh, listen to me, okay, she does love you but going back to new york will be the reality check she needs!" I say while driving.

I pull into the driveway and Callie comes out. "The taxi is on its way, she's at the kitchen table if you want to say goodbye." Callie says to me and Arizona. I walk into the kitchen and see Sofia. "Hey. Just came to say goodbye." I say as I walk over. She stands up and hugs me. "I'm so sorry for being a brat. You did nothing but worry about me i'm sorry." Sofia says holding me tight. "That's okay, I accept your apology. Now go say goodbye to your mom." I say. She slowly walks over to Arizona. "I'm sorry. What I said to you was horrible, I wish I could take it all back. I love you." Sofia says as she hugs Arizona. I see tears fall down Arizona's cheeks. "I love you too sweetheart. Have fun in New York." Arizona says as she hugs her daughter one last time.

Callie and Sofia get into the taxi and head to the airport. As soon as the front door shuts Arizona breaks down into tears. As she crouches to the floor I join her and pull her into a hug. "It was the right thing to do" I say. "I know I know, but I'm going to miss her so much!" She weeps. We stay hugging for a little while. Suddenly our pagers go off. *Peds Emergency*

Arizona and I sort ourselves out and make our way over to Grey Sloan. We throw our things into the attendings lounge and run up to Peds. "Karev! What's happened?" I say as I quickly fix my white coat. "Two kids fell out of a tree! One has a broken arm but the other has multiple fractures up and down his body!" Karev explains as he walks us towards the little boys room.

"Okay, so this is Micah, he's 7 years old and he has 3 broken ribs, his femur is broken in 2 places and both of his elbows are broken. He also has a concussion." Karev explains to both of us. Karev also gives us a full run down of which tests he's done and explains that an OR has been booked for 3pm. "Micah will need his leg setting into cast and because of his age we will most likely need to put him under anaesthesia." Arizona explains to Micah's parents.

Atticus Lincoln and Arizona lead the surgery, I assist. It was probably a good idea for Arizona so she can take her mind off things. During the procedure Link was able to set the boys breaks and cast them. Arizona and I assisting with the casting. We also put casts on his broken elbows. Once the procedure was over we took Micah down to recovery, we informed the parents of the healing process and when he needs to come for check ups.

I go and stand at the nurses station finishing off some files. It hits 2 o'clock and I have an hour break. I grab myself some lunch and head to Arizona's office. I set myself up at her desk and continue studying for my boards. These boards means I can finally get my peds fellowship. I've already submitted my paper. When I was in Chicago I helped with a medical trial for children's cancer treatments. I wrote about that and hoped it would earn me a place on the peds fellowship here at Grey Sloan. And to my surprise it did! If I pass my residency board exam I start my fellowship in January.

After an hour of studying, Arizona's lunch began and she found me deep into the computer and my notes. "Hey nerd!" She says coming in. "What you doing?" She asks. "Studying for the boards!" I say but not looking up from my notes. "Okay, well I hate to break it to you but your break is over!" she says as I look at the time on the computer. "Shit! Sorry! Where do you want me?" I say as I fumble all of my books and notepads into a pile. "Don't worry, Karen needs a hand down in CT!" Arizona says with a giggle. I make my way to CT but not before kissing Arizona.

"Wolfe! Can you help me in here, you did a bit of neuro in chicago right?" Karev says calling me into CT. "Yeah, what do you need?" I say as he shows me the scans. "Yeesh, is that a tumor?" I say looking at the scans more closely, "I don't know, It doesn't look like one but what else could be growing in this kids brain?" Karev says. We both sit there. I page Amelia down to CT because I need help figuring what this is!

Amelia runs in. "Hello, you paged!" Amelia says. "Jesus Christ What is That?!" Amelia exclaims. "That's why we've paged you. We don't know!" Karev says. Amelia studies the scans a bit more. "Right get them sent down to neuro and y/n can you and Arizona meet me down there." Amelia says. "okay. Karev can you take Lea back up to her room and inform her parents that we've consulted neuro as we need extra help." I say to Alex. On my way to Neuro I page Arizona to join us. "Hello! Woah that isn't a tumor?" Arizona says examining the scans. "Nope, we don't actually know what it is" Amelia says.

Chief Bailey walks past as we have the scans on the screen. "Holy mother of jesus, that is one nasty tumor!" Bailey says. "It's not a tumor" We all say in unison. "Then what is it?" Bailey asks. "No clue" Amelia says. We keep examining the images on the screen until I notice something. I walk over to the screen. "Amelia, can you zoom in?" I say as she zooms into the unknown thing. "There! Is that a root?" I say. "Arizona comes over and looks, "and there!" She says. "Jesus, this girl has a plant growing in her head!" Bailey says. "How is that even possible!?" Amelia says.

We all google how possible it is and one search caught our eye. 'Planting Seeds in a Babies Brain to see if it helps their intelligence.' We all read the article and realise that it was written by a Dr working at Seaside Medical Centre. "That's where you used to work right Amelia" Arizona states. "Yeah, Addie still works there. I'm going to call her and see if the guy who wrote this article still works there." Amelia walks to the corner and calls Addison.

Arizona and I head up to peds floor to ask the parents some questions. "Hi, we've just got a couple of questions to ask." I say to the parents. "Can we ask where Lea had her brain surgery as a baby?" Arizona asks. "St Ambrose Hospital in Los Angeles" The mother said. "Can we ask why she had the surgery?" I ask. "Well we were told she was born with a tumor so we ultimately went for the surgery." The Father says. "Okay, it's come to our attention that your daughter never had a tumor. We believe she was used as part of a medical experiment that has gone horribly wrong." Arizona begins. "What do you mean?" The mother asks. "Your daughter has a plant growing in her brain. We found this article written by a Doctor from Seaside Medical Centre" I begin, we show the parents the article. "That's the name of the dr who did the surgery" the mother says. "We are trying to get to the bottom of this but for now we need to remove this plant from your daughter's brain. Do we have your consent?" Arizona asks. They nod and we book an OR for tomorrow morning and explain the preparation for the surgery and the possible outcomes.

Amelia comes to find me and Arizona, "Addison is on her way over here to help with the surgery, she has just reported the doctor to the medical board because it's horrific what he's done." Amelia says.

We all decide to head down to the coffee cart. But then realise we only have half an hour left of shift. We continue with some rounds before we clock out and head home. "Amelia do you fancy coming round for dinner tonight, or would be nice to have some company?" Arizona asks. "Yeah, that would be nice, Owen has Leo and Betty is in rehab so yeah! I'll take you up on that offer!" Amelia says as she heads towards her car. "See you at 6!" I say. Amelia waves and drives off. "Now we need to get some food!" Arizona says. We take a short detour to Walmart and get some groceries before heading home and start making dinner.
