Monday

Today is the day of our interview for national television. We woke up at 7am so we could get ready and look nice. I decided to wear a gorgeous black dress with yellow and green flowers on it. Arizona wore green trousers and a black blouse. The television studios had arranged a car to pick us up and take us to the studios. Once we arrived we were shown to the sound stage. They were currently on air, we were the interview after the next break. 

I quickly touched up my lipstick and Arizona sorted out some of the curls in my hair. "Thank you" I whisper to her. Suddenly the host announces that they'll be back after a short break. "Hi, I'm Caroline, I'll be interviewing you today, we only have a couple of minutes of commercial break left so if you'd like to follow me." Caroline says as she shows us to the sofas. We sit down next to each other, with Caroline on a separate sofa next to us. 

"Welcome back, here with me now are Doctors, Y/n Wolfe and Arizona Robbins. So Y/n and Arizona are raising money for the Paediatric Department at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital by running in the Seattle Marathon in October. Y/n could you tell us a little bit about why you are raising money." Caroline introduces us. "Well, the medical board have had to make some budget cuts and sadly it meant that the Paediatric department was in the firing line. We have a program where we bring children from Africa to Seattle so we can give them the treatment they need. This program sadly lost its funding due to the budget cuts, so I had an idea to run the Seattle Marathon to raise money for it." I explain. "Yes, Y/n's idea was amazing. We've already raised nine thousand dollars, in just a week of the GoFundMe page being live." Arizona added. 

Caroline looks amazed. "So how about you talk to us about the training. How is that going?" She asks. "Well, we've stuck to a schedule of two training days a week, we will do a run to and from work twice a week." Arizona begins. "It's a nice route as well, we have also recruited some friends. A couple of Station 19's fire department have joined us and are also going to be running the marathon with us." I add. 

We continue talking with Caroline for another 5 minutes before our interview was drawing to a close. "So, our interview is drawing to a close, but as a community we have donated $10,000 towards your GoFundMe to help you reach your target of $100,000. We have no doubt that you will meet your target! If you would like to donate, the link to donate is on your screen now and we will also post the link on all of our social medias." Caroline says as we sit in shock at the generosity. The cameras cut and we thank Caroline before we make our way out of the studios.

The studios had also arranged for a car to pick us up and take us back home, which was very sweet. Once we got back to the house, I made me and Arizona a quick breakfast, we weren't needed in work until 12 but I like to be there early. I made us some egg and avocado on toast which was really nice. I also made us some freshly squeezed orange juice. Arizona has the notifications on for our GoFundMe page because I know I'd just keep going on about it if we got a donation. 

Once we finished, I took our dishes and put them in the dishwasher while Arizona went upstairs to brush her teeth. I grabbed the car keys, "I'll meet you in the car" I shout up the stairs before Arizona ran down with her bag. 

Amelia's POV:

Teddy and I parked around the corner and waited until Arizona messaged us telling us they have left. 

Arizona :)

Arizona:
Just turned out of our road, feel free to head round whenever :)

Amelia:
Thank you, spare key still in the plant pot?

We pulled into the driveway and I took the spare key from the plant pot. "Not a safe hiding spot that is it?" Teddy said. We both giggled. I opened the door and we got straight to work. "Arizona said she's laid out all of the decorations in the guest bedroom." I say making my way upstairs. Teddy makes us both a coffee and we get started. We decided to not set up anything in the house to make it more surprising. "The weather is supposed to be really nice today!" Teddy says as she hands me my coffee. 

I start to thread the banners and the bunting and tie them to the house and the fence. "Did you say everyone is bringing some kind of food?" I ask Teddy. "Yes, Arizona asked everyone to bring a certain food so it didn't look suspicious when Arizona comes home from grocery shopping and y/n finds party food." She replies. I blow up some balloons with the helium canister so they stay floating and Teddy ties them off with the balloon string. I unroll the massive banner that says "Congratulations! You're a Paediatric Fellow!" Which to any normal person would look weird but to a resident it's the best thing you'll ever see. 

Arizona had put two fold out tables by the back gate so we unfolded those and set them up with the table cloths and I had bought some paper plates, bowls and cups. It reaches 5pm, "Okay so Jo and Steph are heading to us now with the main chunk of the food." I say as I look at my phone. "I've told them to use the back gate!" I add. I go and find their Alexa because Arizona said we could use it. It was plugged in in the back room so I moved it to be plugged in and by the kitchen window, I opened the window and turned some music on. 

Once Jo and Steph had arrived we started sorting out the food. I helped Jo and Steph bring things to and from their car and Teddy went inside to start making the drinks. When i say making the drinks, she made a no-alcoholic fruit punch. It suddenly hit 6pm and everyone else started arriving. April and Meredith also brought the kids so it was really nice. Once everyone was here we all waited in the garden, Arizona messaged me once she was around the corner. 

Y/N's POV:

I drive us back home from work, a lot happened. There were meetings about the fellowships, and which departments got what with the new budget. Still waiting to find out if I did get the Peds fellowship. I really hope I do because that means I get to work with my girlfriend and hopefully once I've finished my fellowship it means I have a guaranteed job at the end of it. 

We pull into the house and I grab my bag while Arizona opens up the door. She is already halfway to the kitchen by the time I get inside. "Babe, come here" She says as she calls me to the kitchen. She covers my eyes when i get there. "Woah, what's this for?" I ask as her hands are covering my vision. She walks me slowly and then removes her hands. "Surprise!" Everyone shouts. "What's going on?" I say before noticing the banner hanging above Amelia and Teddy. "Congratulations! You're a Paediatric Fellow! What? I got the fellowship?" I exclaim. "Yes! You were the top of the applicants y/n!" Arizona says as she kisses me. 

I enjoy the night with my friends and colleagues. These people have become my family in the past year and a half and I couldn't thank them enough. We had the music blasting from the alexa, we had food and it was so nice. Once it reached 10pm people started to leave, mainly the people on the morning shift and Meredith, April and Jackson because they had the kids. 

"I'm so proud of you y/n!" April says as she gives me a hug before running after Harriet. Jo and Steph suddenly come running up to me. "Y/N they've sent out the board results." Jo says. "Wait what?" I say as I suddenly become really nervous. "You'll be fine." Steph says. I open my phone to see the email with my results on. I click on the email and...
