"Doctor, we'll be heading to Beacon. Please arrive at the landing pads by 10 AM," Ironwood said to Cypher, who was in his dorm. "Of course," Cypher said with a nod. Ironwood left his dorm, allowing Cypher to continue with his work.
Cypher checked the time and saw it was 9:45 AM. So he grabbed his collapsible bag and put everything he would need inside of it. There was then a knock on the door.
"Enter," Cypher said, still packing his things. The door opened and Winter walked in. "I've heard you'll be going to Beacon," she said with her hands behind her back. "Yes. I presume it's to install the security system in the Vale CCT and meet Professor Ozpin," Cypher replied.
Winter walked up to him and said, "I would've liked to join you. But I'm afraid I'm busy here.". "Eh, it's fine. You've got your job and I've got mine," Cypher replied, finishing his packing. He collapsed his bag and put it inside his white lab coat pocket.
Cypher looked at Winter, who seemed a little sad. "What's wrong?" he asked. "Nothing," she replied. "Winter, I read people like books. What's wrong?" he asked.
Winter sighed, "I suppose... it's going to be a bit lonely without you here.". Cypher smiled softly, "Well, I'm sure we could talk over the scroll."
Cypher then left his dorm, with Winter following. He locked it behind them and they walked towards the exit in silence. Winter still felt like she wanted to say something, but something seemed to be stopping her. So the two continued to walk in silence until they got outside and into the courtyard. They saw an Atlas Bullhead waiting at the landing pad. So they walked over.
"Well, this is my ride," Cypher said, standing next to the Bullhead. Winter sighed again. "I wish you well on your travels. Contact me once you've made it.". "I will," Cypher said with a soft smile.
He turned around and went to enter the Bullhead. However, he stopped and turned around. He then hugged Winter, surprising her. "I'll take you out to dinner once you arrive in Vale," he said softly. Winter couldn't help but smile and return the hug, "Thank you,"
They pulled away from the hug. They smiled at each other. Cypher entered the Bullhead and Winter watched as the doors closed before it flew off.
"I got a date with him!" Winter celebrated to herself. She then blushed from embarrassment after realising what she had done. "Calm down, Winter. I'm sure it's just a professional date. Don't get too excited," she said to herself.
Meanwhile, in the Bullhead, Cypher sat on the seat deep in thought. "Did I just hug Winter Schnee? The girl that I've had a childish crush on ever since watching the show? And now I offered to take her out to dinner? Funny. But what about Earth? I can't just leave the meteor to destroy it. Maybe I could take Winter. I trust her enough not to tell anyone. Just as long as she doesn't find the RWBY anime." he thought to himself.
