Thane's POV***

Justice, Marissa, and I sat back and watched the scene play out before us.  Our parents were furious to say the least. They were all yelling and screaming about the lack of their inheritance. I felt Lawerence touch my sleeve. I look at him and took the papers that he held out for me. I read the top sheet. It was a list of the major items and their values. At the top it was the stamp collection. Valued at two hundred and eighty dollars. Next was the model car collection valued at three hundred dollars. I laughed and highlighted the top two items, then handed the paper to Marissa. She laughed and handed it to Justice.

"You can't be serious about us not getting anything of value!" My father yelled. "We are going to contest the will! Mark my words!"

"That is exactly what we are going to do! Contest the will!" Abigail added.

"You can do that. It will be a terrible waste of money for you." Lawerence said calmly. "The state of South Dakota says that all you must receive is a minimum of ten dollars worth of cash or materials. I have given the list of values to Thane Norris as he is the oldest of the grandchildren. Thane, can you tell the room what the values are of the two collections?"

I look up and smile broadly. I act as if I am looking for the items. Finally found them. "The stamps are worth two hundred eighty dollars. The cars are three hundred. I guess that you guys will have to split the difference of the two. That is ten dollars that Abigail and Josh owe Lucas and Maria."

"So go ahead and contest the will. You just need to submit the DNA sample first. Without that, you won't have a peg leg to stand on, even if you stood a chance in the first place. This will was directed by James Norris to myself and my office, three years ago. When Mr. Norris was still healthy and whole. Sound mind and body. That is all the state asks for." Lawerence smiled at them. "Any other questions?"

They were all still pissed off and voicing their displeasure loudly. "No? Well let me swab your mouths for the test. Who will be first?" He held up a cotton swab.

"Fine! But we will see you in court!" Lucas stood and opened his mouth for the sample. He was followed by the rest of them. The foursome of idiots filled out the paper application for the test. But I still recorded the entire swabbing with my phone. They all soon went to the door. "Don't you let me catch you outside, boy! I will definitely kick your ass! It has been a very long time since I beat the shit outta you. It is gonna be fun."

"You don't know what we do for a living, do you?" They looked confused. Justice and I laughed. "Justice and I are federal agents with the ATF! We learned how to defend ourselves and others. You would be the ones who gets an ass whoopin! We aren't eighteen-year-old boys anymore. You will regret ever lifting a finger in anger to us. Now get the fuck out of our house!"

"Actually. The last time I was in the same house as my sperm donor, it was me kicking his ass. So much that grandpa stopped me before I killed the fucker. So, I already knew how to defend myself. I just had to learn how to stop myself. The military helped with that. Grandpa was a very smart man. He knew that I needed the military first. Then he knew that I would be a good agent." Justice said in honor of our savior. Josh looked at his son as Justice reminisced about their last meeting. "Have a nice life, Daddy-O! As my dear cousin said. Get the fuck out of our house."

"Grandpa knew what we all needed. He sent Thane into the Police academy. Then he sent me to real estate classes. He knew our career paths before we did. I love and miss him so much!" Marissa added.

"I do too." I reply. Along with Justice.

My phone vibrated with a text. I check it and see that Ashton had sent me a simple text. 'I am thinking of you guys today.'
