David's pov ***

I walk Ashton to her locker as Drake and Anna join us. We are talking about the weekend and our plans. "I'm taking Ashton to a movie and dinner tonight. Then I have a surprise planned for tomorrow." We have gone out almost every night this week. Tonight we will go to her favorite restaurant. Tomorrow we will go to the park for a picnic. One of her favorite things to do.

After Kim hits Ashton and Ashton lays her ass out, I calm Ash down. Then I follow her and the principal to the office. "Principal Harwich, Ashton defended herself! Watch the security video!" I try telling him.

Harwich looks at me and tells me to stay out of the office unless I want to be in trouble too.

"Call my dad, David! Please!" Ashton asks.

"On it, sweetheart!" I dial my phone.

"Hey son! What's up?" Griffin answers on the third ring. He has called me son since we became engaged.

"Dad! Ashton needs you at school. She got into a fight with Kim. Now they won't let me be with her."

"I'm on my way! Tell me everything!"

I told him what happened as he drove to us.

"I'm here, David." He said as he opens the door and enters. We hang up. "I'll get to the bottom of this." I nod my head as he walks into the office.

Within a minute, Tara enters and goes straight into the office. It was like she didn't even see Drake, Anna, and I standing there.

We watch as she starts waving her hands and talking in agitation. She is quickly shown into Harwich's office.

"I almost feel bad for the staff." Drake mentions.

"I don't. They opened the box and flipped the switch. Now they will have to deal with momma bear Tucker." I laughed.

Within a couple more minutes, an ambulance shows up with Kim's mom following. They soon roll Kim out with her crying in misery.

After another half hour, we have gained several people who were standing with us and talking about Ashton laying Kim out with only two hits. Everyone knows that Kim has started hating Ashton and blames her for failing grades.

Ashton follows Tara out of the door and straight to my arms. "Can I take Ashton, mom?" I ask Tara.

"Yes, you can. What time are you bringing her home?" Griffin exits the office.

"Midnight, no later. You know the rules." Griffin answers for me.

"Yes, sir! Midnight, not twelve-oh-one!" I grin at my future in-laws.

"Alright. Ashton, have fun and relax. This thing is settled with the school. I'm going to have a "come to Jesus " meeting with Kim and her mother. This bullshit ends today. You, your dad, and I will have our own discussion tomorrow morning. Understood?" Tara said.

I can tell that she is still pissed. "Yes, ma'am." Ashton answers.

"David, will be there too. Right, David?"

"Yes, ma'am. I'll be there for breakfast."

Tara smiles and gives me a wink. I bent and kiss her cheek. We all depart the school and Ashton climbs into my front seat as I hold the door for her. I shut the door and put our backpacks into the back seat before sitting behind the wheel. She holds my hand on the center console.

"Are you ok, sweetheart? Truthfully? " I ask as I crank my truck.

"Yeah. I'm ok. I guess I should have stopped her a long time ago. Harwich said that they were taking away my valedictorian. Dad said that he wanted to see the security footage. When we watched it, he recorded it with his phone. He asked why I should be punished for defending myself. Harwich finally said that everything will remain as it is. Only after I tell mom and dad that we could sue the school for not protecting their innocent students and blaming the victim for the actions of a bully." She turned to me and grinned when I laughed.
