Thane's POV***
I am loving kissing Ashton so much. Not to mention how great she feels in my arms. I love this woman so much that she is all that I think of, all day, every day.
Justice's phone goes off and he steps away to take the call. Something seems off in his demeaner after he answers the phone. I raise my head at the same time that Ashton pulls away. We both look at Justice. I see that he is extremely tense. He looks at me and mouths 'dad'. Oh hell! This might be bad. His dad shouldn't have his number. I know that grandpa has it. But other than grandpa, myself, and Marissa, nobody else in the family has the number. This is the number that he has had since leaving home. It stays with me when he is undercover. Grandpa had bought all of us a phone when we left home.
I take the phone from his shaking hand and put it on speaker. I hear my uncle Josh's voice.
"I hate telling you like this. But we have held off closing out dad's estate until you guys could be reached. Now the lawyer said that we need to close it soon. I need you, Thane, and Marissa to come home within the next week. Or everything goes to auction or charity."
"Grandpa died? Why did nobody tell us?" I asked the daddy of nightmares. He is a vicious son of a bitch!
"Is that Thane talking to me?" He asked trying to sound happy to hear my voice. I know different. He isn't happy to see anyone unless they were female from eighteen to eighty and naked. Hell! She doesn't even have to be clean, healthy, smart, or pretty. They don't have to know how to talk or eat with a fork. Just as long as she knows how to give head and spread her thighs.
"This is Thane. Why weren't we notified of grandpa's passing? I know damn well that anyone could have called us. He had our numbers in his phone and his little address book." I ask more firmly.
"Don't get all uppity with me boy! You ain't too big for me to kick your ass. We have been trying to find you. We didn't think to look in his phone."
"Actually, I am too big for you to kick my ass. And I'm calling bullshit on your search. Justice, Marissa, and I will be at grandpa's house Saturday morning. I will call grandpa's lawyer to meet us there. I'm sure that you and the rest don't want to be around us. So we won't expect you there when we talk to the lawyer."
"Now, how do you know what lawyer dad used? I didn't even know until he was almost dead."
"Because grandpa made sure that we knew who to go to when he died. He took care to keep up with us after we escaped you and Joel's harsh and abusive treatment of us. I will call when we are there." I hung up and notice that Justice was better now that the shock was wearing down to a dead tingle.
"Are you better now, Justice?" He nods his head, never letting his grip loosen on Ashton. "I need to call Marissa and let her know that she needs to come with us."
"I don't want to face him. He is everything that I fight against in my career." Justice says quietly.
"Do you want me to go with you? I can be there Saturday and Sunday." Ashton volunteers.
"No! I don't want you contaminated by them. They are a bunch of degenerates and evil people. I don't want you to be hurt by them. They look for the most vulnerable piece in a person and stomp all over it. If they were to hurt you, I think that I might have to kill them graveyard dead." I tell her. She doesn't realize that I would kill them in a heartbeat. Especially for her. I will not stand back while someone hurts my woman.
"Alright. If that is how you want to handle this. I will stay here and get to work at the department. But you must promise to keep me informed if you need me for anything at all. I am stronger than you guys possibly realize. We Tuckers are some seriously scary people when we are pissed or upset." She says with confidence in her ability.
