Happy Reading!
Abhishek's POV:
Over the years I have visited London many times. But this time it feels weird. I don't know, why..
The meeting with the investors didn't go well. Many negotiations are yet to be made which made my stay here longer. The contract is yet to be drafted and many things are left.
My mind was disturbed so I decided to just go for a drive.
After mindlessly driving for an hour I stopped by a park. I got down my car and decided to walk for a while.
The park is full with oldies doing a walk or chit chatting. Some people are giving a walk to their pets. And children are playing and giggling.
I wonder if Arohi and I were still together, would we have kids now?
I know she always loved kids. I've seen her playing with the kids at our buildings garden multiple times. She thought I never knew, but my eyes were always on her, I always knew where she was or what she did.
I so wish I knew where she was now. What she is doing or thinking. I want to know her again just like before..
I went further into the garden where there were no people. I just need to be alone to get my thoughts together.
I close my eyes but then I heard a rusting sound followed by a growling sound. I looked around and saw two kids running from a dog.
The little girl fell down and started crying and the dog was running in their direction.
I came in front of them on time and shoed the dog away. I turned towards them and kneeled down. The girl and boy are crying and sniffing.
"Hey it's okay kiddos. No one will hurt you hmm. I am right here" I helped them stand they both hugged me crying.
A different kind of feeling filled me. It feels like I know them. A sense of longing fills me. It feels like I have some connection with them.
I hug them back and after years I get feeling of solace with them. They feel like mine. Just like she felt.
I caressed their heads and break the hug. I wipe their tears as it is paining me to see them cry.
I checked her knee which is bruised and bleeding.
"Let's get this treated hmm" she nods. I pick both of them up and take them to my car.
They both snuggle to my neck making my heart flutters. Their tiny hands clutch my shirt.
I put them down to open the car and these little munchkins hug my leg as if their life depends on it.
They look at me with nothing but innocence in their eyes. I chuckle at their antics and take out the first aid kit.
I take them back to the garden and place both of them on the bench and do the little princess' first aid.
She winces when I apply antiseptic so her brother, I assume, blows air on it to soothe the pain. I smile at them.
"And it's done" I smile at them after tying the bandage.
"Thnk u" the girls kisses my cheek and smiles. And trust me her smile is just like hers. Even her eyes remind me of her making me gulp.
"Ru iz it paning" his words are not clear but she understood.
"No bhai" she shook her head innocently. Hmm so they really are brother sister.
"So munchkins what are your names hmm" I ask. I need to know I don't know why.
"Abhir" "Abhira"
Their name is a combination of mine and Arohi's. I once saw it in her diary. I shrug the feelings I am having.
"Wow you have such a nice name babies" I ruffle their hairs and they giggled.
"So tell me both of you, what are you two doing here alone. Where is your mom?"
"Alee mumma iz at hom" Abhira says in a duhh tone. Like it's such an obvious thing. (Mumma is at home)
"We libe nealwy. We are here to play" Abhira says. It took me a minute to understand. (We live nearby)
"So you mumma knows you are here" they both nod their head.
"Will u ply wid us?" She said with a pout and how can I say no to this pout.
I nod and they both get excited. They drag me towards the little sand playground. Am I really doing this?
Yes I am. I crouch with them and make a sand castle with them. They both are blabbering things and I listen carefully to understand what they mean.
"Nooooo nt lik ths" Abhira frowns at me and Abhir, who just shook his head at her. (No not like this)
"So how do we do it princess?"
"I wil tech u" (I will teach you)
She teaches me how to make a perfect sand castle and I am just loving it. After that they went to the slides and swings. There is a constant smile on my face being being with them.
Here I came to be alone for sometime, but look at me now. Playing with tbe cutest kids I ever saw and getting my hands and clothes dirty. Not that I mind.
Spending time with these two little munchkins made my awful day so much better. All my pain, problems, tensions, everything just vanished into thin air.
The sun was setting and it's been too much time they are here with me. Their mom must be getting worried about them.
"Let's go kiddos, mummy must be waiting right" they both gasp and their eyes widen. They look at each other with horror as they relised it actually is getting late.
I chuckle and dust off the sand fron their clothes. "Come I will drop you at your home hmm?" They nod and hold my finger.
We cross by a bakery, and when I look at them, their eyes are already there. "Who wants to have pastry?"
I swear I saw stars in their eyes and they nodded with so much excitement. I laughed at them and took them inside. I let them choose their pastry and paid for it.
Settling them on the chair I just watch them eating the pastry with a satisfied smile. They are just like my Arohi. She will love them if she meets them.
With a tissue I wipe their mouths when they finish. They two just give me a toothy smile.
"Les go" they say together making me laugh.
I drop them at their building and see them going inside. I don't know why I felt like this with them, but I feel I have a strong connection with them.
I walk back to my car and go back to my apartment. All the time their faces and their talks cloud my mind making me smile.
I have never been this satisfied with my day in 4 years. These two are definitely something. I hope I can meet them again.
To be continued...
