Chapter 24

Day asked a male nurse to assist Itt to get into car while he was carrying the luggage as they were leaving the hospital.  It was weekday and Day did not want to disturb others so he wanted to manage himself. Neil made his subordinate get Itt's car and leave it at hospital as Day have asked for. 

"Day my phone.. I think I left in room" Itt said anxiously while Day was sitting in the driving seat after keeping all the stuff.  

"Ok I will get in a minute. Wait" Day said and ran.

As he was running towards hospital, his eyes met with a guy wearing a mask who crossed while walking in opposite direction towards the hospital gate. Day continue to run to get phone but felt uneasy mid way and looked back and he saw the guy going towards his car.  Day ran back. Itt din't notice the guy but he was constantly looking at Day who he saw suddenly running with fierce expression and shouting something which Itt was not able to hear.

Itt turned to look in direction Day was looking at and saw a guy who was removing his mask and turned to look at Day with a smirk.

Itt saw Ford approaching him with a smile while Day was still far.  Ford was about to reach when instinctively Itt locked car door and shifted  to driving seat . He started and accelerated the car. 

Ford signalled and a black car that was just some distance behind Day's car came in front of him.  It had a driver and another person with sunglasses sitting next to him. Ford sat at the rear seat and car started following Itt. 

Day just missed to catch Ford by few seconds and Ford waved at him provoking him more. Day shouted "Bastard" andraise his hand to held his head in frustration. He saw a taxi near him and he ran and pushed the driver out and started driving following them. 

Itt was sweating like anything but he drove like he used to race and managed to drove pass a traffic signal while Ford's car got stuck at red signal. Day also flew the taxi at very high speed and was able to catch Ford's car stuck in traffic signal. He came out of his taxi and opened Ford's car back door and pulled him out and punched him. This time Ford was not drunk like last time so he threw a strong punch back making Day fall. Day was trying to get up but another man dressed like body guard and driver came out and held Day but looked at Ford "Sir please sit in car. Boss will not allow this" Ford saw people are making videos and immediately sat in car. The signal turned green and all cars started honking. Driver went back to start car and started driving while Day punched the body guard  hard to push him to come out of his grip and ran to sit in his car to follow Ford. 

Day felt relieved Itt was able to dodge Ford but worried about him thinking how he would have been driving with injured foot and fear of speed. Then he saw a fleet of black cars looking like some influential or government person passing by and Ford's car which was similar became part of it. Day lost the track of Ford's car and was frustrated. Then he started driving in the direction Itt went but he was not sure how to contact him as his phone was in hospital. 

Day conferenced Neil and Gear and told them about Ford encounter and asked them to help in finding  Itt first. He realized he was driving the taxi so called Neil to pick him up from hospital and dropped the taxi back to place where he took.

Itt was driving fast and when he saw no one following him. He felt relieved , his symptoms of fear of speed was still there but he was able to react in time when he saw Ford. He was getting dizzy now and wanted to stop car but it was a highway. He continued driving with his breath becoming unstable and his sweat dripping . His foot was aching as he had put too much pressure on it. At the end of highway he was able to stop car at corner. He put his head on steering wheel to relax but passed out due to exhaustion.

Neil picked Day and they both started following same route to find Itt. Gear was searching on parallel road. Day was throughout cursing himself for not believing Brick. 

It was almost evening now and Day, Neil and Gear were driving all over but yet no luck

Mac was driving back from his office to Nan's house when he noticed Itt's car. He slowed down near the car and saw Itt's head bowed down on steering wheel. Mac wanted to leave as he  really hated Itt but felt he should check once on him as he found it odd that he was alone and he stopped car near the highway.

He stopped his car and went out near Itt's car . He knocked at the window of car but there was no movement from Itt's end. Mac shouted "Itt... Itt are you ok. Open the door" but dint see Itt moving. He felt something wrong, he took a stone and broke the window of the other side not to harm Itt and opened the door by putting his hand inside. He shook Itt but he was not responding. He picked him up and put him in his car on back seat.  He saw his ankle was bandaged but had blood all over it now. He was bleeding. He picked his jacket at the back seat and tied around his ankle to stop blood flow.  Mac's own home was near to this place than hospital. He called his family doctor and drove to his house quickly.  His family doctor was already at his house when he reached. He got couple of calls from Nan but ignored it.

The doctor treated Itt immediately. He changed the dressing. "It seems his wound has got worse and has fever because of inflammation. I have given immediate treatment but he need to take these medicines and rest a lot. It will take few hours for him to wake up" Doctor said Mac and gave him list of medicines. Mac thanked the doctor.

Mac still blame Itt but felt sympathy seeing his condition. He was in dilemma if he should let Day know but he hate him to his core. He really wanted to make Day and Nan feel hurt once. His phone rang and he saw Nan's name flashing, he ignored again. He went near Itt and thought for a while about Nan what he did to him, about Day who is responsible and his history with Itt. His head started to ache thinking about it when he saw Itt was murmuring in his sleep "Please help..please help.. Day ..Day." Mac placed his hand over Itt's forehead to calm him. He recalled when Itt came to Nan and asked to destroy CD else his past will come to haunt like Itt is facing now. He tried to join the dots by relating Itt's  breaking words and felt Itt  have faced similar to what he encountered. He also felt Itt's concern towards him thinking of his words.

He felt more hatred towards Day and Nan but thought Itt needs Day seeing his condition. He never wanted to talk to Day so he called Nan who immediately picked and started shouting and cursing "Where are you ? Why are you not picking up. I have called you so many times"

Mac took a breather and shouted "Listen to me first. " making Nan silence.

"I saw Brick on my way back. He is injured so I took him to my house as it was nearest" Mac said 

"What" Nan asked . Mac continued "He is injured. Doctor has treated him but he is still unconscious . You can let Day know so that he can take him from my house" Mac said in emotionless voice.

Nan was silent for few seconds. "You there" Mac asked.

"Yes I will come along with Day" Nan said as he knew how much Mac resent Day.

Nan called Day who initially did not pick the call as he was busy finding Itt. But after Nan called him few times, Neil who was driving asked Day to pick the call "Nan I will call you back later" 

"Hia listen it's about Itt" Nan responded immediately and told him what Mac updated him. Day felt relieved and uneasy at same time.  

" Send me Mac's address " Day said then added "or I am coming to your track in 10 mins. I am near your place. We can go together." Nan also wanted to be there when Day meets Mac.

Day called  Gear and updated him. Neil and Gear were both at ease hearing same. Day thanked them for helping him. He asked Gear to go back home as Night might be waiting. Then he asked Neil to drop him at Nan's and go back as Nick might be worried too.

Neil dropped him at Nan's and left. Nan drove Day to Mac's house.  Day was really worried all through the route which Nan could see. Day updated him what happened and about Ford. "Why dint you tell me Hia ?" Day was silent and then said "I think we both need to fix things with Itt and Mac. I know Mac resent me and Itt. But it seems Itt is also avoiding you and Mac may be he feels responsible and guilty for Mac." Nan never thought Itt will be impacted to the point of avoiding them as he have seen Itt mostly jovial and Nan used to enjoy teasing Itt.

They both were silent though out the remaining path.
