Chapter 37

Gear had dozed off while sitting next to Night. Day laid for while but was feeling restless as he recalled last time Ford visited Itt even in hospital.  He got up in panic and ran towards ICU. He saw Itt  and took a breather . He kept watching Itt from glass door. Seeing Brick like that , it was making him mad and he wanted to kill Ford. He was too stressed and really feeling the urge to smoke but he controlled as he did not want to leave Brick at all like he did last time.

He sat on the bench infront of ICU and kept thinking how to deal with Ford as he did not want to take any rash action which can hurt Itt any further. He realised that Brick has been facing consequences for all his actions and now he wanted to protect Itt at all cost. Thinking he saved Night was making Day feel more indebted towards Itt. His love for Itt had outgrown now. Tears started falling from his eyes without realising. 

He just wanted Itt to get up. Day kept thinking about Itt , when he was hurt last time because of Pee and then Ford. 

Suddenly he heard some voice asking about Itt at  reception. He realized it was already morning and he saw Neil and Nick at reception. 

He got up and Nick noticed him and rushed towards him "How is Itt?"  

"In ICU." Day replied shortly pointing towards room. Nick went towards glass door and saw Itt laying still with tubes and wires connected to machines. 

Neil came near Day and used one finger to wipe tear from Days eyes and asked worriedly "Are you ok?"

Day realized he was crying and wiped his tears "No... yes something fell in my eye" He tried to cover.  He pulled himself together and asked Neil to stay there and he will be back. Neil nodded.

Day went out to get some air and took out a cigarette to smoke. Then he took out another and started smoking again.  His phone rang and he saw Neil calling and instead of picking the call he ran inside worriedly.  He saw doctor and nurses running inside ICU. Gear and Neil was talking to nurse while Nick was calming Night who was crying with folded hands like he was praying.

Day's heart was pounding . He was feeling dizzy seeing the commotion. He slowly walked towards Neil and Gear and staggered a little. Neil held him.  The nurse who was talking  went inside ICU . "Is he ok. What happened" Day asked in low voice scared to listen anything.

Gear said " Nurse did not tell much. She just told us internal bleeding. We have to wait till Doctor comes out."  Night ran towards Day and hugged him crying " All because of me ..." Day rubbed his back but no words were coming out of his mouth. He was in no position to comfort Night right now instead he was going blank. Neil noticed and gestured Gear to take Night. Gear separated Night from Day and embraced him till his sobs reduced saying "Brick will be ok . He is a real fighter"  Neil and Nick still did not know whole situation and why Night is blaming himself but did not ask at this time. 

Neil stood near Day  with his hand on Day's shoulder. He has never seen Day so weak. 

Doctor came out and Day and Neil went towards him. Doctor told there is some complications due to Itt's head injury. They have to take few more tests to confirm.

"Will he be ok ?" Day asked

"We can say anything after tests. He is critical now." Doctor said and left

Itt was taken to another room to do MRI scan and other tests.  After tests he was brought back to ICU and nurse adjusted IV line with precision. No one was allowed to come inside due to risk of infection.  Day kept watching Itt from glass door without blinking eyes. Gear , Night, Nick and Neil also looked at Itt worriedly.

Nick asked Gear that he should take Night home and rest and they will be there. Gear was about to respond when Four came in and tapped Gear's back. Gus went towards Night and hugged him who started crying more seeing his friend. Gus tried to console him. Four asked about Itt . Gear told him details which changed Four's expression to being tensed. Gear asked Four to take Night home with them and Gus can stay with Night  to calm him ; while Gear himself wanted to stay at hospital. Nick told Gear to leave as well as Gear was also looking very tired. Gear turned towards Day who was just watching Itt with weary eyes.

Gear looked towards Nick  gesturing towards Day as he was worried about Day too.

"Don't worry Neil will take care of Day. You both should go and rest.Night does not look good at all. I and Neil will be here." Nick said and gestured Four to take Gear with him. Gear was hesitant but agreed as both of his friends said and he was worried about Night too.

Nick was curious why Night was blaming so he asked Gear what happened. Gear told Night was kidnapped and then Itt saved him and then Ford took Itt with him. Day was able to manage to free  Itt from Ford's grip . They filed police complaint but  they are not cooperating much as Ford's family is very influential.

Neil has been listening to the whole conversation carefully and said " I will call Nan and see if Sage can help us with the case. You both go home and rest.  " Gear nodded

Gear went towards Day before leaving and called him but he did not look at him as if he was lost in his own thoughts. Gear called him few times but no response.  Everyone noticed. 

Then Neil came and shook Day a little to make him come to senses "Pull your self together . You can't be weak . You have to take care of Itt like he did for you. Itt was strong for you."

Day was jolted a little listening same and nodded expressionless without saying anything. 

Neil asked  Day "What happened to Ford?"

Day just shook his head "Not sure if police arrested him. When I drove Itt to hospital, last I heard police siren."  

"We have to be still cautious " Neil said fiercely as he wanted Day to think like old self as things were not sorted yet and situation is still alarming. 

Nick intervened to calm things" Day you should also go and rest for a while. I and Neil are here."

Day just shook his head "I will stay here" Gear was hesitant listening same , he also wanted to stay. Neil looked at Day  and said calmly "Let him be. You all leave and be careful on the way"

Nick then forced Gear and Night to leave. Four and Gus have to literally drag them to car.

Neil wanted to take Day out to eat something but Day was stubborn and was not moving at all from ICU door. He made him sit on bench and asked Nick to get something to drink and eat.

Neil sat next to Day "I know you are worried about Itt. He will be ok , he has fought back from all difficult situation.  You have to be strong to protect Itt"

Day looked down and said "I think I should go far from Itt. He is facing all this because of me. We are not meant to be together. I have just added problems in his life. First I hurt him then my actions made him face consequences. He was happier before meeting me"

Neil  was shocked and speechless to listed these words from Day.
