Chapter 43

Day woke up early in the morning. He saw Itt still snuggling in his chest. He slowly moved Itt to lay down on his back without impacting his shoulder.  As Day was about to get up from bed , Itt  whimpered while turning on the other side in sleep hurting his shoulder.  Day immediately looked back  and shook his head.  Day cautiously moved him back and put pillow to prevent him from turning.  Itt was groaning while sleeping and Day rubbed his forehead till he was ok. After he saw Itt was in deep sleep, he got up and took shower. He went outside and told cook to prepare breakfast for two additional people as Fu and Knot will be coming.  He then spoke to guards and told them  to allow two people with name Fu and Knot enter house. Also asked them to be extra vigilant and let no one else enter without his permissions.

Day called Neil and told the details of what he was planning and he agreed to accompany him.

Day went back to room and saw Itt was still sleeping. He brought  first aid box to change his dressing. Day removed the bandage on Itt's shoulder and cleaned the wound when Itt started squirming. He noticed  the wound was deep and might take time to heal .He bandaged it again.   He brought towel and started wiping his body making Itt wake up .. "Ah cold!" Itt tried turning his body but Day had to held him and said "Stay still"  in fierce tone which made Itt purse his lips.

Day noticed his reaction and said "Start taking care of your shoulder, how will it heal like this"

"It's cold" Itt muttered.

Day just ignored Itt's words and rolled his shirt to chest and started wiping. Itt twitched when Day's hand started moving down inside his shorts . His face became red "Day "

"Ummm" Day smiled seeing Itt blushing but continued to wipe.

"That I will do myself." Itt mumbled.

"What" Day came closer to Itt's face to listen as he was unable to figure out what Itt said.

Itt pushed Day's chest by using  his injured arm as instinctive reaction and shouted"I will clean ... ahhhhh" He shrieked in pain.

"See why  are  you so careless" Day said in anger and lightly pressed the area near the wound  to ease the pain then looked at Itt who was twisting his face in pain " Are you ok"

Itt nodded after few seconds when the pain had subsided. 

"Do you want to change your clothes?" Day asked calmly. Itt thought for a while "I will change myself. Day just shook his head "Get up" as he assisted Itt to sit.

"Day I want to take a shower" 

"Wait till your wound starts healing, you can't let water fall on it" Day said sternly.

"But .. I.. " Itt was about to say when Day started unbuttoning Itt's shirt making Itt focussed his attention on his shoulder as Day was removing the sleeve from injured shoulder. Itt frowned thinking it will hurt again but Day was very careful.  

" Shift a little or better stand. I will wipe your back too" Day said nonchalantly without letting Itt say anything as he was aware Itt was embarrassed.

Itt pouted but stood up and turned his back towards Day who cleaned his back with wet towel. Then Day lowered Itt's shorts when Itt suddenly  pulled it back and snatched the towel from Day's hand with his unaffected hand and ran in bathroom.

"Walk slowly " Day shook his head seeing Itt's reaction . He then went to get fresh clothes for Itt to change and leaned outside bathroom wall with folded hands waiting.

After some time "Day give me clothes" by taking out his hand from door. Day placed his clothes on his hand. Itt struggled to wear but was adamant to do on his own while Day waited patiently outside. After a while he came out after wearing  shorts but he just managed to slip shirt on one arm.

Day saw him and helped  him wear shirt without saying anything.

"Are you going today? to meet ..." Itt said in low voice.

Day hugged him by wrapping his arms around Itt's  waist as he was aware Itt is stressed since last night about this "Yes I will leave once Fu and Knot are here." 

"D... Day... " Itt lowered his head on Day's shoulder.

 Day rubbed his back " Say it whatever you thinking."

"I am scared." Itt said while clenching Day's shirt in one hand nervously.

"Why you don't believe me?" Day asked and moved back a little to see Itt's face.

"No it's just that ... just .. he has always hurt.." Itt was thinking out loud.

" He will not be able to do anything more to us. Everything will be ok" Day said confidently making Itt hug him tighter.

They stayed like that for few minutes when bell rang making Itt startle but Day held him.

"Fu and Knot would have come. Promise me one thing you will take care of yourself when I am away and not be careless"  Day said looking in Itt's eyes.

Itt nodded and then they went in living room. Fu and Knot came inside and  they exchanged greetings.  They all sat and had breakfast. Day gave medicine to Itt and then he took Fu in another room to discuss few things. Knot sat with Itt as they watched television. 

Day updated Fu about Itt's medication and timings to give. He shared the doctor number in case anything needed. Fu asked him on what he is planning to do with Ford and Day told him details when suddenly they heard Knot shouting "P'Day P'Day...."

Day and Fu ran outside and saw Itt was trembling and has curled up bringing knees closer to his chest in corner of the couch while shutting his ears with hands. Day went closer to him and try to hold him but he pushed him and was disoriented. 

Day ran inside and got the injection and had to use little force to apply as Itt  was not co-operating like prior instances. Fu and Knot were little shocked seeing this. 

Day held Itt for sometime till his breathing became normal "Day my head is  hurting I want to lie down." He took him in bedroom and made Itt lay down. Fu and Knot followed them worriedly.

"Brick it's fine. Just try sleeping, pain will go away."  Day said calmly rubbing Itt's back. Itt turned his head in opposite direction making Day realise Itt was feeling awkward in front of Fu and Knot. Fu also sensed same and pulled Knot's hand and went outside the room.

"Do not overthink. Fu and Knot are friends" Day tried to comfort Itt as he could see Itt trying to avoid them but Itt was silent.

Day sat with Itt and after some time, heard a faint voice "Day ...don't leave."

"I am here" Day said and moved to other side to see Itt's face but noticed he had already fallen asleep. He bent to kiss his forehead and pulled the blanket over him. 

He went outside without making any noise and saw Fu and Knot sitting on the couch. He asked Knot on what happened. 

"P' Day we were just watching movie when suddenly P'Itt got scared" Knot said as he tried to think what happened.

"Was there any loud noise in movie?" Day asked.

Knot tried to remember "Yes .. it was an action scene and they were firing shots at each other"

"I guess his symptoms have worsened" Day mumbled.

"Is anything serious?" Fu asked then Day told them about Itt's PTSD condition and that probably loud noises are triggering panic attacks. He then told Fu about injection in case Itt's condition worsen in his absence.

Day was not willing to leave Itt but made tough choice. He took Fu's car and drove far from the house and then called Ford who picked the call "Where are you hiding?" Ford laughed.

"Let's meet " Day said.

"Bring Itt with you then I am willing to meet you" Ford said making Day grind his teeth in anger.
