Chapter 36

Itt was at back seat of car with Ford. There was one more guard along with the driver in the car. Another car with guards  were following them. Itt was unconscious though he tried hard to keep himself awake. Itt was bleeding profusely.  Hurting Itt was not part of his plan but now he has to deal with same to avoid any escalations. He did not want to deal with police or law makers. Ford called his family doctor to come to the airport to treat Itt. His actions were mainly driven by his obsession with Itt and he wanted to take Itt far along with him . 

Gear and night went to nearest police station and filed the complaint against Ford.  Ford's family being influential, police started questioning Night more on proofs. One of the police officer also informed Ford's father about it. Nonetheless police filed the complaint. 

Ford received the call from his Dad which he avoided at first but had to pick after multiple calls. As he picked the call his Dad started scolding him as police complaint was filed against him. Ford was now more rebellious,  till now he was planning to just leave the city. But listening to his father he decided to leave the country with Itt to avoid everything. He asked his secretary to make arrangements quickly.

Day was pacing the car to reach Itt as soon as possible. He was still able to track him. Day sent the location to Gear who in turn shared  details with police, The nearest police station to that location was informed. 

It was dark now and less vehicles on road, so Day accelerated like he was racing.  He could now see two black cars infront of him which he concluded is Ford's. Day accelerated further to the point ,car started vibrating and he was able to  surpass guards car. Now he was driving parallel to Ford's car. Ford and others noticed and Ford commanded his driver to drive faster.

Day got distracted after seeing Itt in car who had blood all over. The driver noticed and tried to deliberately crash Day's car who got off tracked and his car rotated ninety degree due to impact while Ford's car sped away. The guards car was approaching near. Day was quick to come back on road and drive to catchup Ford's car. He kept the pace same as Ford's car and was observing guards car coming closer in rear mirror. He noticed an oil tanker truck infront of him which was about to cross the four way intersection perpendicular to them. Day slowed down a little to align himself just back to Ford's car giving the impression he is lagging. Ford's driver saw an opportunity and accelerated crossing the intersection. Day timed himself such that he crossed the intersection just when the truck was crossing making truck to put breaks to avoid collision. The truck driver applied brake and cursed Day on almost near death clash of vehicles. Day surpassed the truck and and came around Ford's car again.  The guards car was left behind which had to wait till the oil tanker crosses the road.

Day stepped on the pedal to accelerate further and surpassed Ford's car. He turned the car towards Ford's car  in speed and applied handbrakes making the car drift on road with squealing sound ; eventually blocking Ford's car who was forced to stop the car to evade crashing. 

Day came out of car and charged towards Ford pulling him out of the car. He started punching him when the guard came and pulled Day such that he lost his grip on Ford. Guard held Day from back when Ford came and punched Day. Day's eyes fell upon Itt and realized he can not take much time he had to take Itt to hospital as quickly as possible. Day kicked Ford hard making him fall on ground.  He then grabbed the guards arms who was holding from back and pulled him  making him lift from ground and threw him over his shoulders such that he fell over Ford who was trying to get up.

The driver came out and tried to throw his punch on Day who just kicked him making him fell on ground.  Day  saw guards car stopped and four guards coming out,  seeing which Day sprinted towards the Ford's car and sat in the driving seat. One guard came and opened the car door  of driving seat and held Day's arm to pull him out. Ford tried to open the back door of car to take Itt out but Day speeded not letting him touch Itt while guard holding Day was dragged with car but Day pushed him harder from moving car and closed the door.

Day speeded and started driving towards hospital. Last he heard the police siren approaching them. Day took a breather and looked at back seat worried and saw Itt who was unconscious and covered in blood. He called Itt few times but no response . Day's heart was beating fast, he rushed to nearest hospital. 

The car screeched to a halt at the hospital entrance, hospital emergency team came out with a stretcher when Day shouted for help. They moved Itt to a stretcher and rushed inside as Day was holding Itt's hand. The staff asked Day to do formalities while Itt was taken inside the emergency ward. Doctor checked his vitals and prompted his team to get the operation theatre ready. Day ran towards ward when he  saw Itt was being taken to operation theatre. Day was asked to stay outside. Day sighed and waited outside feeling uneasy . He was walking to and fro with stressed face when his phone rang, he saw Gear calling. Day picked the call and told him the details and hospital. He asked Gear to go home with Night but Gear declined and insisted on coming to hospital.

Gear and Night reached hospital. Night ran and hugged Day and started crying inconsolably which Day has to calm him. Night was feeling guilty that Itt's condition was because of him. Had he not trusted that guy, Itt would not be in this condition. He was overwhelmed that Itt put his life in danger because of him and kept repeating "Itt took bullet to save me" .  Day and Gear were speechless and worried about Itt. Gear got water for Night and kept rubbing is back to console him. Gear saw bruises on Night's body so he took him for checkup and dressing after telling Day.  There was no major injury but the whole incident was shocking for Night with some scratches. Nurse applied ointment and bandage on bruises on hands. Night was given a drip and sleeping pills to calm him. Gear waited till Night slept and went to look for Day. He himself was worried about Itt. He went and saw Day was sitting with his hands on his head and looking down. His hands had shirt had blood stains which he got while holding Itt on stretcher. Gear  went and got water for Day, he patted his shoulder saying all will be fine. He asked Day if Itt is still in operation theatre , Day nodded. Both were silent.

Gear went to a shop within hospital premise and returned with a T-shirt and two coffees. He handed T-shirt to Day and asked him to go and clean himself and change the shirt. Day agreed as Gear waited outside . Day came after changing shirt and washing the blood off. Gear handed him coffee, Day was not in mood but agreed as Gear insisted. Day asked about what happened in police station. Gear told that police was hesitant about filing case against him instead were questioning them on proofs.  Day was not paying much attention to conversation instead his eyes were towards operation theatre. Gear noticed and also knew as of now Itt is priority and they can't think sanely so told Day "Let's discuss about this later" which Day nodded.

The doctor came out and both Day and Gear stop and rushed towards Doctor, he explained they have taken the bullet out, but his vitals are still not stable and will be shifted to ICU. He will be monitored overnight. Both Day and Gear raised hand to pay respect to Doctor and he left.

Day sighed. Gear also looked at him worriedly. Then they saw Itt being take out and moved to ICU. Day tried to get close but nurses prevented him to avoid any infection.

They both sat outside ICU looking haggard. Day called Itt's father and told about Itt's condition but avoided telling whole details to keep them away from getting worried.  His parents were out of town . Concerned, his father told they will start now to reach hospital. Day convinced them to start morning itself stating he and Gear are at hospital.  Gear called Nick and Four and told details who were shocked and shouted at Gear for not telling them before. They were starting for hospital but Gear asked them to come in morning itself as it was just couple of hours to dawn. 

Then Gear took Day to the room where Night was sleeping and asked Day to lay down on couch to take some rest. Day did not want to but Gear forced him as Day was looking completely drained. Gear also sat next to Night . However both could not sleep.
