*Two Months Later*
"Turn around." Reid says.
"Why?" I ask.
"A magician never reveals his secrets." He says as I turn around. I hear some shuffling around and then he tells me to turn back around.
I turn back around to see the small black cap with fizzling underneath, it gets louder and louder before it explodes, flying off, hitting Emily in the head as she walks in. I jumped at first but started laughing. She closes her eyes, stopping in her tracks, making the face- I don't even want to know but I will ask anyways.
"What the hell was that?" I continue to laugh as Reid sets up another one. Hotch comes in and picks the cap up.
"Reid, are you doing more Science Magic?" He asks. I stop laughing and move back to my desk.
"I am sir." He says, hiding the one he was about to set up.
"I told you about that," he says, making Reid frown. "But you're getting some distance on them things."
I take a long drag of my coffee and go sit back on his desk.
I have barely slept since I joined the BAU, no one's noticed, except Reid, I think he knows. He's gotten a haircut, it looks really cute on him. I'll admit, I have a crush on him. He doesn't know of course. Everyone tells me I'm the female version of him. I bring my legs up to my chest and lean back against the glass that separates our two desks. I picked up the crossword puzzle off his desk, picking a pen up along with it and started to fill it out. I finish it within a matter of minutes. I set it down beside me and lean my head back against the glass.
"5 minutes and 49 seconds." Reid says.
"What?" I ask, not opening my eyes.
"You finished the puzzle in 5 minutes and 49 seconds, almost as good as mine, 5 minutes and 32 seconds." He says.
I chuckle slightly and sit up. I begin to say something but Hotch interrupts me.
"Conference room please guys." Hotch says, walking towards the room as I follow him, pouring some more coffee on the way. I need to wake up. I dread sleeping, the anniversary of the murders are sneaking up on me. 11 years, this Tuesday. I finish pouring coffee and follow Reid to the conference room. I sit down in my seat as Garcia stands in the front, remote in her hand.
"We have a possible copycat murder in Minnesota." Garcia says as she passes out the tablets and the files. I open it to see a picture of a throat slashed and the initials A.J carved into the victim's shoulder. I gasp and cover my mouth with my hand. I try not to make it obvious that I'm shocked but I think Reid catches it. He's the only one that knows about Alex.
"Alright, well, two bodies were found, a week apart, same M.O. as Alex Jacobs, their throats were slashed and the initials A.J were carved into their shoulder." Garcia says.
He can't be back, he's in prison for life. He can't be back, he can't do this to me, he did this on purpose, someone he knows is making him to cause pain to all his past victims.
"Sarah!" Someone yells and waves a hand in front of my face. Reid.
"Yeah?" I ask quietly.
"We're leaving." He says.
"Right." I say and start collecting my things, realizing my hands are shaking, and I can't get the file in my bag. Reid puts his hands over mine and takes them in his.
"Hey, it's alright." He says softly.
"He can't be back." I whisper.
"He is in jail, he can't get you, if he tries, he'll have to go through me first." He smiles, putting my things in my bag, handing it to me.
