"Emily!" I smiled before running over and giving her a hug.
"Sarah?" she asks, dropping her bag and hugging me back. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm back, what are you doing here? Why did you leave?" I question.
She looks away, her eyes painful. "Hotch called me in, what's going on?"
"All our resources are gone, we have no idea where JJ is." I explain, sitting down beside Reid.
"JJ must have logged in with a panic sequence that triggered a silent alarm," I say. "It's pretty standard protocol. Enter your security codes backwards and a present alarm is activated, in this case, Blackbird."
"Oh, god, JJ sent that alert 30 minutes ago. They must have looped the system. That's why I couldn't read any hard-lines." Garcia says as we leave.
I turn on my com, listening just as I hear 'hand where I can see them.' FBI security must have gotten them.
Reid and I go to drive around the hard-lines, waiting for a go to go in.
"Utherlay oadchurchbray. Utherlay oadchurchbray." Garcia yells.
"You don't need a linguist to recognize pig latin." Blake says in my com.
"Luther and Broadchurch is the location of Cramer Industries." I said to Reid.
"It's a research and development company." Reid says.
"R and D; that's gotta be a front for clandestine operations." Morgan says.
We figure out that Hastings, who was supposed to be dead, wasn't dead at all.
We were closer so Reid and I got there first, going inside.
"Where's the server mainframe?" I say to the owner.
"Subterranean level." He says.
"Which way is that?" Reid asks.
"Through the warehouse."
"Hotch, Reid and I are going downstairs." I say to him.
"Copy." Hotch answers as we run down there.
I kick open the door, pulling my gun from my holster.
I see JJ hanging from the ceiling where we clear the room before letting her down.
"Sarah," he breathes weakly. "I knew you would find me."
I let her down, giving her a tight hug. Tears stung my eyes as I looked her up and down, she looked like she's been through hell.
I stand up as she leans over, catching her breath.
I look over, seeing Cruz lying down in a pool of blood.
"Is he okay?" I ask Reid.
"He's be fine, how's JJ?"
"She's okay, she's standing up," I say and turn around, seeing her gone. "Where the hell did she go?"
"She's going after Hastings, who's on the roof." Reid says before I run after her. "Sarah!"
I keep going, trying to help JJ. Gunshots ring out on the roof, before they shot and I help. I don't hit Hastings.
I run after Hastings while JJ follows, a helicopter comes into view, Hastings was going to get on it.
I pull him down, landing a few hits before he hits me. I step back, the pain hitting me like a train. I land a few punches before he does, pushing me down.
JJ then attacks, hitting him as well before they fall off the roof.
"JJ!" I scream, running over, expecting to her lying on the pavement below. But instead, she's hanging off the side. I help her over, hugging her again.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
She nods before I help her down onto the ground, where the medics tend to her.
Everyone gives her a hug, some tears were shed.
Reid puts an arm around me as JJ and Will hug, then Henry.
Days like these were the days that should be remembered. The days where we get a happy ending.
"You did it." Reid whispers in my ear.
"We did it." I correct him, hugging him, snuggling into his shoulder.
"I see your romance still hasn't died." Emily comes up beside us, smiling at Reid and I.
"How long do we have with you?" Reid asks.
"Uh," she looks down at her watch. "8 hours."
I frown at her.
"C'mon, let's get a drink, I want to talk to you." Emily says, extending her arm. I kiss Reid's cheek and take her arm.
We head to the nearest bar, sitting in a booth.
"So, are you finally gonna tell me what the cold looks are about?" I ask sitting down, she raises her eyebrows. "Reid looks at you but glances away quickly, Morgan can barely look at you, what happened?"
"I used to work undercover with Ian Doyle, he was a former IRA terrorist-turned serial killer, I had to fall in love with him. When we finally got him, he figured me out and I ran, but running wasn't enough to get away from him. He eventually found me, and 'killed' me," Emily starts. "I had a piece of a chair in my stomach and they got me to the hospital, but I had to go undercover again, so they made everyone think I was dead."
I put my hand on hers, rubbing it softly. "Everyone had just lost you, and then me."
"But anyways, the unforgiving looks and the same scene, it wasn't for me anymore," Emily says. "So, I moved to London and became head of the overseas office."
"But enough about me, how did you come back? I mean, last I checked you couldn't remember us and was a high class lawyer." She says.
"I had just finished a case, one the BAU had solved, I was assigned on lower a sentence for an unsub," I started, smiling softly. "Reid came over after the case and talked to me, so I offered drinks, which I didn't even know I liked liquor, which I don't. But, we talked for a while before he drove me home, and he just touched my cheek and then it was like a train hit me."
Emily smiles.
"My head was hurting brutally but they all came back, every one of them," I smile. "Then it was a matter of falling back into my old routine. But something was different, things are different. Everyone is..happy. Hotch is with Beth, Reid is happy, Rossi is, Rossi."
"And you?" Emily asks. "I remember the nightmares, the not sleeping, the stress."
"I'm okay." I stop her from going on.
"What about you and Reid? Thinking about kids?"
"What?" I laugh.
"I mean, you've been together for a few years-"
"Two of them I wasn't even myself."
"But still, why no kids?"
"Guys, starting without me!" Morgan cuts me off, sitting down. Everyone then comes in, Reid sitting beside me, putting an arm around me.
I smile and lean into him.
"Hey, you okay?" Reid whispers in my ear.
"Yeah." I lie, putting my head on his shoulder.
He kisses my forehead.
Kids? I haven't thought about kids. I mean, being in this job, your family is the biggest risk. I mean, losing my baby to a serial killer because maybe we didn't get the profile right? I couldn't deal with that.
And what if I die? Leaving a kid without their parents? That's hard enough growing without parents, I couldn't do that to my child.
Kids?
