S2 Episode 9: Settling the score

Our episode opens up with Lena chilling at the beach with Alex's family and the Sullivans, Tyrone playing in the water with his dad Darnell while Maria is sipping cold drinks with Emily. meanwhile Alex asks Lena about her previous adventure, saying "so you and Delta almost drowned while fighting space pirates in a secret underwater lab? that's crazy! wish I was there to see it" Lena then tells Alex "chill out, it wasn't that exciting. I almost died after all" Jack then comes in to interrupt their conversation asking the two "so how you kids doing, can I get anything for ya?" Alex then says "no dad" Lena then says "we're fine, Mr. Quinn" Jack then says "fun fact, I was a lifeguard at this here California beach during my younger years" meanwhile Darnell notices a fin sticking out of the water and grabs Tyrone by the arm telling his son that they need to get out of the water now. Tyrone then says "what, are there sharks in the water?" only for Pisces to emerge from beneath the waves causing all the beach-goers to run screaming prompting Sector 51 vehicles to arrive on the scene to deploy troops to corral all the civilians (including Alex's parents) to have their memories of seeing the alien erased while Commander Epsilon stares intensely at Pisces who says "you're not the one I want" Alex then says "Is that Pisces of the Zodiacs?" Lena then says "yeah, turns out she and her crab boyfriend were former space pirates prior to joining up with my dad's merry band of sickos, I thought she died when the base got blown to smithereens" Pisces then says "then you thought wrong, starchild! now I'm out for revenge" before firing a laser bolt from her trident directly at Lena knocking her onto the sandy ground. Alex and the Sullivans rush to Lena's aid with Maria asking "baby, are you okay?" Lena then says "that blast really hurt" as she is helped back up by her mom and stepdad. Pisces then says "that hurt? then how do you think Cancer felt when you blew a hole through his chest? he's dead because of you!" Lena then says "news flash fish-lady, your precious Cancer had me in a vice grip and was trying to kill me, usually killing is against Sector 51 regulations but there are exceptions when it comes to self-defense" meanwhile the sector 51 troops open fire on Pisces forcing her to retreat back into the ocean, one troop informing Commander Epsilon that the target has escaped, however Epsilon tells the soldier that all that matters is that the civilians are safe and they don't remember ever seeing the alien. after that, we cut to Pisces swimming through the sewers beneath Lincoln County, Nevada where we see her monologuing to herself about how Sector 51 will pay for the suffering she had to endure as we transition to a flashback scene aboard Captain C'Thugar's ship where Cancer and Pisces (then known as Andovera and Kraw) betray their fellow space pirates, Andovera accusing C'Thugar of lying about his promise of splitting the treasure with the rest of them. C'Thugar then says "Is there no honor among thieves? secret's out, I never intended to share the eye's power with the lot of you once I obtained it" Andovera and Kraw both try to attack C'Thugar but are thrown overboard by Gladius and Balen onto the Nevada desert below before being abandoned as the Dark Raider leaves Earth's atmosphere. the two are then surrounded by Sector 51 agents, including a young Agent Delta and Epsilon. Kraw fights Epsilon while Andovera fights Delta, leading to Delta shooting Andovera's eye out causing her to scream in pain. once the two ex-pirates are apprehended and brought to cells within Sector 51, they are busted out by a young Eterius who offers his hand to the two to join the Zodiacs. Andovera and Kraw both accept, and Eterius christens them with their new names Cancer and Pisces. back in the present we then cut back to Area 51, Nevada where we see Lena and Alex returning to HQ where Delta asks the two teens how their vacation went, and Lena said "terrible, Pisces is back and she's out for blood" Delta then says "this is bad, she's probably mad about what you did to Cancer" Alex then asks "what DID you do to Cancer?" Lena then says "I blasted a hole through his chest, but only because he was trying to kill me" Alex responds with "that's still pretty messed up" Lena then tells him "shut up, you weren't there! I'm not a heartless killer like my father!" followed by Lena storming off into her room. Alex asks Delta "what's her problem" Delta then tells him "it's probably her guilty conscience, this was her first time taking the life of another alien. Zodiac or not, killing is a hard violation of Sector 51's code of conduct. she went against the very morals and principles I raised her on and it's weighing heavy on her conscience" we then cut to Lena sulking in her room only for Poochie to hop on her bed and lick her in the face, Lena telling him "not now Poochie, I'm not in the mood" she is then haunted yet again by a hallucination of Eterius who says "A true Anuunaki doesn't feel guilt for their fallen enemies, Cancer made his mistake underestimating you and for that he sealed his fate. fight it all you want, but you're starting to become more like me" Lena then shouts "I'll never be like you!" Alex then enters Lena's room asking her "are you okay? 'cause I heard you screaming and I came to check on you" Lena then explains to Alex that she heard yet another voice in her head, Alex asking "who's voice" Lena then says "my dad's" only for Poochie to start growling, Lena telling Alex to stay here saying that she and Poochie will go see what's wrong. we then cut to Pisces making her way through the hallway slashing through waves of Sector 51 troops, one barely-alive troop radioing Commander Epsilon informing him that Pisces has broken into HQ before being silenced, stabbed by Pisces's trident. Pisces then turns around to see Captain C'Thugar sitting in his cell, C'Thugar asking "good to see you again Andovera, are ya here to bust me and your crewmates out of prison?" Pisces gets angry and tells him "after you stabbed me in the back and left me for dead, TWICE, why would I ever do that? you can rot in that cell for all I care. I'm only because I have a score to settle" before exiting the room only for her to get shot at by Delta and Epsilon, Pisces dodging the fire before firing an energy blast from her trident at both of them knocking the two agents onto the floor. Pisces pins Agent Delta under her webbed foot, telling him "finally I've found you, the agent who took my eye and the babysitter of the starchild who took Cancer from me. what do you say we make things even, an eye for an eye?" as she holds the tip of her trident up to Delta's left eye. Epsilon then says "leave him alone you devil fish woman!" Pisces then tells him "this doesn't concern you" only for Pisces to get caught in the gravitational pull of Poochie's black hole mouth, followed by Lena leaping in to sucker-punch Pisces. however Pisces gets back up and says "we finish this now starchild, this is for Cancer!" as she lunges her trident at Lena who switches to her sword construct to parry Pisces's attack before slicing Pisces's trident in half. Lena then switches to her cannon construct to blast Pisces knocking her into the wall, followed by Lena switching back to her fist constructs to deliver a series of rapid fire punches to Pisces until she collapses on the floor. Pisces then says "what are you waiting for? finish me off like you did to Cancer!" Lena then de-activates her constructs telling her "no, I won't. I'm not the bad guy" Delta congratulating Lena for making the right decision only for Pisces to pick up one of Epsilon's gattling gun tonfas and put Lena in a headlock holding her at gunpoint. Lena then asks Pisces "after showing you mercy THIS is how you repay me?" Pisces then tells Agent Delta "you have two choices, Agent Delta! either you kill me or she dies! which will it be?" Epsilon then says "well this is just great. why are you just standing there Delta? do something!" Lena bursts into tears and begs Delta not to do it as he reaches for his laser pistols, saying "Delta don't shoot! if you do you'll be no better than her!" Pisces taunts Delta, asking him "what are you gonna do, shoot my other eye out?" Delta says nothing and shoots Pisces between the eyes, killing Pisces and saving Lena. Epsilon's eyes widen, saying "I can't believe it, he just broke Sector 51 code. Alpha isn't going to like this" as smoke trails from Delta's laser pistol. Lena looks down at Pisces's lifeless body, asking Delta "why did you do that?" Delta then tells Lena "sometimes you need to make the hard decisions to protect the ones you love, that's how life is. I wouldn't have killed her if I had any other choice. I did it because I didn't want to risk losing you" Delta then hugs the crying Lena as Alex arrives on the scene to watch this tender moment with Epsilon followed by Poochie licking Lena's face to make her feel better before we cut to inside the wreckage of the Nibiru where we see Leo and Aries watching a meditating Virgo. we then see Virgo's eyes open as she turns to her fellow zodiacs and tells them "Cancer and Pisces are both dead, our numbers are dwindling faster than anticipated. we need to call on the rest of what remains of our ranks if we are to stand a chance against Sector 51" we then cut to Lena and Poochie arriving at the Sullivan household, Darnell welcoming his step-daughter and her alien doggo into the house where Tyrone is happy to see her, asking if she wants to shoot some hoops. Lena then says "maybe later little bro, I got a lot on my plate right now" as she sits on the couch to sulk with Poochie laying in her lap. Maria sits next to Lena asking her "what happened baby?" Lena tells her "Delta killed Pisces to protect me, I just can't believe he would do such a thing. we're supposed to be the good guys, I thought not murdering was what separates us from bad guys like Senator Pierce, or worse my father" Maria then tells Lena "I know how you must feel, but Delta cares a lot about you. to be honest he's been a better parent to you than I ever was. don't hold it against him, your stepfather always preached about forgiveness at his sermons" Lena then hugs her and says "thanks mom" followed by Darnell saying "and dad, even though I'm not really your dad!" before we cut back to Sector 51 HQ where Alpha scolds Delta for breaking Sector 51 code, Delta pleads to Alpha that he had no other choice and he only did it to save Lena's life. Alpha then says "I knew your attachment to that starchild would one day compromise your ability to perform as a proper agent. I better not hear about anymore incidents like this again or else you'll have to face the consequences" before hanging up on a very nervous Agent Delta ending our episode on a foreboding note.
