Episode 13: Family Secrets, part 2 (season finale)

Our episode opens up with a recap of the events of "Family secrets, part 1" before we begin the story proper with Lena at the Sullivan household where Darnell and Tyrone are both shocked to hear that Lena is Maria's daughter. Darnell helps Maria back up and says "that thing is not my child" as she walks off and slams the door on her room. Lena asks Darnell what's gotten into her, and Darnell tells her "I have no clue either, she's not usually like this. for as long as I've known her was about as cheerful and happy as can be until you showed up at our doorstep. whatever the case may be, you're welcome to make herself at home here if you like" before Darnell tells Tyrone "Tyrone, will you keep her company while I check on your mother" Tyrone saying "sure dad, I always wanted a sister". Tyrone then asks Lena "so you play B-ball?" Lena tells him "can't say I have" followed by Tyrone tossing his basketball at Lena which she catches with her telekinesis, Tyrone exclaiming "wow cool! how did you do that?" Lena tells him "I've got a secret, and you can't tell anyone. I'm actually part alien" as she uses her telekinesis to throw the ball back at Tyrone who catches it. Tyrone is amazed saying "coolest big sister ever" before we cut to Darnell entering Maria's room as she sits in bed sulking. Tyrone asks her "you okay Maria? you haven't been acting like yourself since that Lena girl arrived. she came all this way to meet her mother and the way you snapped at her, I think you upset her. If she truly is your daughter like she says she is, I think you could at least treat her with love like any mother would. Tyrone seems excited about having a big sister he never knew about". Maria Sullivan tells him "Darnell, remember how I said how I don't remember much of my life before I met you?" as she shows her husband the Annunaki branding on her arm. Darnell asks her "are you saying that Lena might be connected to how you got that mark on your arm?" Maria sighs, telling him "When I first laid eyes on her face, I had flashes in my head, forgotten memories of a past I can't remember. I saw me on a... a ship, some kind of alien spacecraft. I was prodded, probed, and impregnated against my will by some kind of extraterrestrial" Darnell chuckles, saying "wait, you're saying you were abducted by aliens? you know I don't belief in UFOs or martians or anything like that. next thing you'll tell me you saw the men in black" Maria snaps at her husband telling him "those memories were REAL, Darnell! I was held captive by aliens who forced me to bear a hybrid abomination. I refuse to acknowledge that... that THING as my daughter. every time I look at her face, I see the creature who abducted me" Lena and Tyrone overhear their conversation and Lena's feelings are deeply hurt, Tyrone telling Lena "Mom seems to really hate you for some reason. I don't know why" Lena puts her hand on Tyrone's shoulder telling him "I wish I knew too, little bro". Lena enters the room to tell Maria "hey mom" in a nervous tone of voice. Maria looks at Lena angrily and tells her "don't ever call me that again, I'm not your mother! get out of my sights!" causing Lena to cry and leave the house while Darnell and Tyrone watch, Tyrone exclaiming "Lena wait!" Before we cut to the Nibiru hovering above the Earth Eterius sitting on his throne looking at a picture of Maria Sullivan on the screen. Johnny then enters the throne room asking "So is that your baby mama? Lemme guess, you plan on using her as bait to lure Lena to you" Eterius chuckles, saying "you catch on fast, young Scorpio" Johnny uncurls his scorpion tail from his waist, saying "You know I can't let you do that" however Eterius gets off his throne and says "I had a feeling you'd betray me" before conjuring his crossbow construct to shoot Johnny who dodges the blast before lunging his tail at Eterius who catches Johnny's tail with his whip construct before using it to slam him onto the ground, Eterius pinning the downed Johnny under his foot telling him "you are to stay away from my daughter you hear me? I can't have you ruining my plans for her. Do I make myself clear?" Johnny fearing for his life says "Yes... Lord Sagittarius" Eterius tells him "Good. it would have been a shame to reunite you with your mother too soon" before turning on the screen to make contact with the other Zodiacs telling them "Taurus, Cancer, Pisces, the time for my child to come home is near. head to the given coordinates immediately" as he displays the coordinates to the Sullivan household while Johnny sneaks off before we cut back to the Zodiacs getting back up on their feet, Taurus telling Eterius over intercom "as you wish lord Sagittarius" before the three board the shuttle to take off toward the Sullivan household. we then cut to Sector 51 HQ where Johnny shows up at HQ on his motorbike, Alex asking Johnny "great, it's emo scorpion boy. what do you want?" Johnny tells them "I just came here to warn you that the Zodiacs plan on abducting the Sullivan family. they want to use them as bait to lure Lena right into Eterius's hands, he wants Lena to take her place by his side as the heir to his new empire" which disturbs both Delta and Epsilon, Delta telling Johnny "this is serious, Lena doesn't know that Eterius is her father, and I intend to keep it that way". Johnny argues with Delta, telling him "and you think it's okay to keep that a secret from her? like how you never told me that Sector 51 agents killed my mother when you took me in?" Delta asks Johnny "Is that the lie that Eterius told you that made you side with the Zodiacs? we didn't kill your mom, Johnny. we at Sector 51 aren't killers, it's what separates us from extremists like the Friends of Earth" however Johnny is in denial of this revelation and gets back on his motorbike Delta asking where he thinks he is going, and Johnny says nothing and rides off while Alex crosses his arms saying "I never liked that guy" before we cut a a montage of Alex, Agent Delta, and Commander Epsilon gear up to go save Lena from herself along with Poochie who hops in Alex's backpack. we then cut to Lena sitting on the doorstep of the Sullivan household brooding over her first taste of familial rejection, Darnell sits by Lena telling her "what your mom said back there, she didn't really mean it. from what I understand there were unfortunate circumstances behind how you came into this world, but that doesn't make you less of a human being. you were just as much of a victim as she was. just give her time, she'll come around eventually. If it makes you feel more comfortable you can call me dad" Lena hugs Darnell, telling him "thanks dad" followed by Tyrone joining in the hug saying "come here big sis" before giving her a noogie while Maria watches from the porch seeing her husband and son bond with Lena while having a depressed look on her face, not understanding why they are able to connect with the starchild while she can't bring herself to do the same with the daughter that she never knew. however this bonding moment is interrupted when Johnny arrives on the scene on his motorcycle, a surprised Lena exclaiming "Johnny, what are you doing here?" while Tyrone asks "Who's that guy, is he a friend of yours?" Lena tells Tyrone "His name is Johnny, he's a starchild like me. a human/alien hybrid" as she takes her headband off revealing her blue forehead crystal while Johnny uncurls his scorpion tail Darnell exclaiming "I don't believe it! Aliens really are real after all" Maria gets up in Johnny's face, telling him "Oh no I refuse to let ANY MORE aliens on my property, both of you need to leave" Lena tells her mom to calm down, and Johnny explains the situation to the Sullivan family telling them "All of you are in danger, the Zodiacs are coming to abduct all of you. Eterius plans on using you as bait to lure Lena to him. he's Lena's father" scaring Tyrone who is comforted by his mom only for Johnny to get on his knees and scream in pain feeling Eterius inflict another psychic attack on Johnny telling him "I told you not to tell her!" followed by Lena exclaiming "he's my WHAT? why didn't you tell me?" Johnny tells her "he specifically told me not to! he wanted to reveal it to you himself" only for the Zodiacs shuttle to fly over the Sullivan household deploying Taurus, Cancer, and Pisces who corner the Sullivan family, Taurus cracking his knuckles saying "you three are coming with us" followed by Maria picking up a gardening rake and holds it up to Taurus's face exclaiming "stay back! don't you DARE harm my family!" only for Taurus to break the tool with his bare hands Lena to rush in exclaiming "don't you lay a finger on them!" activating her energy fist constructs to punch Taurus in the face slamming him onto the ground saving the family's skins, Lena telling them to run. Cancer and Pisces attack Lena from both sides prompting Lena to teleport causing them to crash into each other Lena teleporting next to the Sullivan family asking if they're okay, only for Lena to get grabbed from behind by Cancer's giant claw, Cancer saying "going somewhere?" before slamming her onto the ground, Tyrone exclaiming "Lena!" only for Johnny to sneak behind and sting the three of them from behind with his tail, Johnny telling the other Zodiacs to take them into the ship causing Pisces to put her hand on her hip and ask "so you after doublecrossing us you decide you're back with the zodiacs for good, Scorpio?" while Lena looks up and asks "Johnny, how could you?" Johnny tells her "you think I like being your enemy? that's why I'm helping them, so that Eterius can convince you to come over to our side. that way we can finally be together" followed by Johnny and the Zodiacs taking the unconscious Sullivan family into the shuttle before taking off. we then cut back to Lena on her knees crying screaming  right as Sector 51 arrives on the scene Poochie hopping out of Alex's backpack to lick her in the face while Lena hugs Poochie tight before looking up to see Alex looking down on her, Alex asking Lena if she's okay. Lena tells him "It's all my fault, I should have listened to Delta. maybe if I did none of this would have happened. I screwed up!" Alex puts his arm on Lena's back, telling her "don't we all? It's what makes us human. well... half-human in your case". Lena tells him "It's worse than that, Johnny betrayed me AGAIN and the Zodiacs kidnapped my mom and her family! oh and did I mention that Eterius is my dad?" Alex tells her "I know" Lena is shocked to hear this exclaiming "what? but how?" Lena turns her head and asks Delta "Did you know?" Delta sighs, saying "I did" Lena gets back up on her feet while rocks around her start to float with her telekinesis causing Alex and Poochie to step back, Lena turning around showing her eyes glowing blue exclaiming "YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU DIDN'T KNOW WHO MY FATHER WAS, YOU LIED TO ME! HOW MANY OTHER LIES HAVE I BEEN TOLD BY YOU AND THE REST OF SECTOR 51!?" Delta trying to calm her down by telling her "I had to in order to protect you! I was doing what I thought was best for you!" however she doesn't listen prompting Epsilon to order the troops to take aim at her and fire when necessary, exclaiming "I knew your starchild was gonna turn on us, Delta!" Delta tells Epsilon "you and your men hold your fire right now! you'll just upset her even more!" followed by Lena telling everybody "goodbye" Alex exclaiming "Lena wait!" Lena teleporting away causing the rocks to drop followed by Delta walking off to contact the LGMs telling them to ready the UFO saying they got another rescue mission on their hands. we then cut to Lena teleporting onto the Zodiac's shuttle much to the surprise of Taurus, Cancer, and Pisces who are carrying the unconscious members of the Sullivan family who are in cuffs. Johnny looks at Lena asking her "so you decided to finally come to your senses, good to know" Lena tells Johnny "I didn't do it for you, I did it for them" referring to the Sullivan family. Johnny looks at the unconscious Sullivan family start to wake up. Darnell asks "So Lena, are these other aliens friends of yours or what?" Lena tells them "Far from it. they're the Zodiacs, basically my arch-enemies" only for him to exclaim "you mean like the star-signs?" a terrified Tyrone says "mommy I'm scared" as Maria hugs her son to calm him down, saying "It's okay baby" before she looks at Lena and tells her "this is all your fault you know, if you hadn't showed up on our doorstep today none of this would have happened" Lena tells her "I know. just trust me, I'll find a way to rescue you and get you guys out of here. but I have to face my father first" as she clenches her fist. we then see the shuttle dock into the Nibiru where the Zodiacs present the captive Sullivan family to Eterius who congratulates them saying "well done my children, you not only brought me Maria Sullivan, but it appears she started a family of her own in the 15 years since I last laid eyes on her" Maria looks at Eterius in the eyes telling him "It's not like I asked for you to abduct me, you're a monster you know that?" Eterius activates his sword construct and holds it up to her neck, telling her "you watch your mouth terran, you already served your purpose in bearing my seed so I have no use for you anymore" Tyrone then exclaims "my big sister is gonna kick your butt!" Eterius chuckles, exclaiming "Sister?" only for Lena to walk up to Eterius who exclaims "Lena Sullivan, so good to see that my child has finally come home" only for Lena to tell him "let them go, please. they have no part in this. It's me you want" Eterius sighs, and orders the Zodiacs "Taurus, Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio, escort them to their cells!" prompting the other Zodiacs to take the Sullivan family away. Lena activates her fist construct, telling Eterius "If you hurt them, I won't hesitate to punch you in the face" Eterius tells her "I admire your fiery spirit, child. but no, I'm not gonna hurt them. I'll be keeping them alive until you come to your senses and take your place by my side as my heir, I will make them watch us burn this planet to the ground together, as father and daughter" Lena shouts "not gonna happen!" as she swings her fist construct at Eterius who blocks it with his force field, Lena shedding tears exclaiming "you can't do this! I may be half-Annunaki but Earth is my home, humans are my people!" only for Eterius to activate his whip construct to whip Lena into submission causing her to lay on the ground writhing in pain, Eterius telling her "I should have never let you be raised by those primitive monkeys, this planet was never your home. your are a child of Nibiru, just as I am. your human side is making you weak, forgo humanity and embrace your Annunaki heritage" Lena says "I'm nothing like you, my humanity makes me strong. and I could care less about Nibiru" as she gets back up and activates TWO sword constructs over both her arms much to Lena's surprise who goes "woah, didn't know I could do that!" followed by Eterius activating two sword constructs of his own saying "there is so much you don't know you can do, daughter. if you join me, I can teach you so much more. with my guidance you can unlock your full potential, become a princess of the Annunaki and the secrets of our people will be revealed to you" Lena charges leading to an epic swordfight between father and daughter, Eterius telling her "I have no idea why you care about those terrans, need I remind you that you are fighting for those who took the council of planet's side and voted on the destruction of Nibiru our home, the same savages who took my beloved Innana and my firstborn daughter Vira your sister away from me" Lena locks blades with him and says "They may be flawed and make mistakes, but humans are just as capable of doing good as they are of doing evil, I've seen good in the people of Earth who raised me, my friends, Delta, Alex, my mom, Darnell, my little half-brother Tyrone" she is then interrupted by Eterius who shouts "ENOUGH OF THESE CHILDISH GAMES!" as he freezes Lena in place with his telekinesis. Eterius looks at Lena in the eyes and asks her "do you know how long we live, daughter?" Lena gets scared and starts hyperventilating too scared to speak. Eterius answers for her, telling her "we Annunaki are the oldest advanced civilization in the known universe, our species live for THOUSANDS of years. If I had continued to let you live on this mudball you'd have to be forced to watch all of your human friends around you die, you will outlive every single one of them, it's not what I wanted for you" Lena thinks about what her father just said and begins having an existential crisis followed by having flashbacks to her familial rejection by her mother calling her an abomination. Lena gives into her fears and internalizes everything her mother labeled her as saying "Fine I'll join you" before we cut to the UFO piloted by the LGMs docking into the Nibiru where we see Delta, Poochie, Alex, and the LGMs hop out of the UFO and sneak around until they come across the cell containing the Sullivan family which is being guarded by the Zodiacs. Johnny notices them from the corner of his eye and walks off, Taurus asking him "where are you going, Scorpio?" Johnny tells him "to pay a visit to someone" before leaving the room, Delta and Alex both having a sigh of relief that Johnny didn't rat them out in spite of spotting them. Alex tells Poochie to go, and Poochie shows up to growl at the Zodiacs, Taurus being the dumb brute he is threatens to crush the poor space-mutt however Pisces tells him "Taurus wait!" Poochie then opens his mouth causing all three Zodiacs to be caught in the gravitational pull of his black hole mouth allowing the LGMs to hack into the ship's security system unlocking the cell containing Maria, Darnell, and Tyrone. Delta readies his twin laser pistols and tells them "follow me, I'll get you to safety. the dog's black hole mouth can only hold them for so long" Maria has flashbacks and tells Delta "hey I remember you" Darnell asking "you know this guy, honey? Is he like... your ex-boyfriend or something?" Delta then tells him "I was the one who rescued Maria Sullivan from this very ship the first time, 15 years ago" as our heroes run through the hallways Poochie closes his mouth to catch up to them allowing the Zodiacs to chase after our heroes, Agent Delta shooting the ceiling allowing debris to fall in front of Taurus, Cancer, and Pisces allowing Delta, Alex, Poochie, the LGMs, and the Sullivan Family to escape unharmed. they then arrive at the bridge where they confront Eterius, Delta pointing his twin pistols saying "It's over Eterius, surrender or I'll shoot". Eterius chuckles, telling him "Oh it's far from over. come on sweetheart, we have guests" and out steps Lena Sullivan wearing traditional Annunaki attire, Lena saying "as you wish, Father" Delta asking "what have you done to her?" Eterius puts his hands on Lena's shoulders and says "I did nothing, she joined me after I gave her a stern talking-to. now she's obedient to her daddy dearest, a true princess of the Annunaki" Delta then fires a barrage of blasts at Eterius from his twin laser pistols in a fit of rage only for Lena to block them with her forcefield showing how she's become loyal to her father. Eterius then gives her one more command: "Lena, won't you be a dear and do your old man a favor and prove your undying loyalty to me by executing Maria Sullivan" an angered Lena then turns her attention to Maria Sullivan, having  activating her twin sword constructs as she walks towards Maria who has a terrified look on her face. Delta shouts "Lena stop!" Eterius then says "Don't listen to him Lena, give into your hatred! exact your revenge on the mother who abandoned and rejected you!" however Poochie opens his black hole mouth causing Lena to be caught in its gravitational pull stopping her from killing Maria, followed by Agent Delta, Alex, Darnell, and Tyrone all grab onto Lena hugging her all at once as they all try to get her to come to her senses by reminding her of how good of a person she was causing Lena to have flashbacks to her childhood being raised by Agent Delta along with memories of meeting Alex back in episode 1, her training with Sigma and unlocking the sword construct back in episode 4, meeting Johnny back in episode 7, and bonding with the Sullivans back in episode 12. Lena screams in agony as she exerts a psychic wave that knocks them all off of her including Poochie who closes his mouth. Lena deactivates her twin swords constructs and approaches her terrified mother to hug her, Lena telling her "I love you mom" making Delta, Alex, Darnell and Tyrone smile. Maria is speechless, unable to think of what to say. Eterius gets angry, asking Lena "What are you doing? you were supposed to kill her!" Lena gets up and turns around to tell Eterius "Sorry, but we at Sector 51 aren't killers. it's what separates us from psychos like you". a frustrated Eterius then shouts "Young lady, that is no way to speak to your father" Lena then tells her "you will NEVER be my father!" Eterius then tells her "Your efforts are futile child, you're fighting the inevitable. centuries from now when all the terrans you hold dear are all dead and gone, I will be the only family you'll have left!" Lena cracks her neck and says "you're not my family" Eterius in a fit of rage activates his crossbow construct before firing the arrow at Maria Lena shouting "NO!" as she activates her force field to protect Maria deflecting the energy arrow which hits the ceiling causing the interior of the ship to start collapsing one of the LGMs then shouts "follow me!" as they all head to the ship's docking bay where they are confronted by Johnny who tells them to go before Johnny steals the Zodiac's shuttle and takes off with it. our heroes all board the UFO and fly through the collapsing ship before we cut to Eterius teleporting over to his fellow Zodiacs telling them that they need to evacuate the Nibiru as the ship is gonna crash. all four Zodiacs hold hands allowing Eterius to teleport all of them out of the ship as it falls down to Earth below. we then see the UFO fly out of the Nibiru just as it crashes into the side of a mountain right outside of Alien town. Lena, Alex, and Tyrone watch this happen from the window of the UFO, Tyrone asking "yo sis, do you think they survived?" Lena tells him "I have no idea Tyrone" followed by Alex introducing himself to the Sullivans, saying that he's Lena's best friend. Darnell puts his arm around Alex telling him "Any friend of Lena's is family to me". we then cut to the residents of Alien town (including Joe) surrounding to look at the wreckage of the Nibiru, only for Commander Epsilon to show up leading a squad of Sector 51 troops to control the crowd telling them all to get back before the squad start searching the interior for any survivors only for them to find nothing and leave. once they've all left we see Eterius teleport back onto the scene along with Taurus, Cancer, and Pisces taurus saying "that was a close one, boss" Pisces saying "tell me about it". Cancer asks "and what about Scorpio? did he make it out alive?" Eterius tells the Zodiacs "forget about Scorpio, with us stranded on this rock we need to call in for reinforcements. send the beacon to call in the others" Taurus slamming his fist onto the computer console firing a signal beacon from the ship into space. we then cut to another planet where see three more Zodiacs get the message: Aries (a female ram-like alien), Leo (a male Manticorian who's species we saw in an earlier episode), and Virgo (who's Annunaki and Eterius's firstborn daughter Vira). Virgo tells the others "Come on guys, my dad needs our help". we then cut back to Earth where we see Lena, Alex, and Agent Delta eating dinner at the Sullivan household (Lena back to wearing her casual clothes) with Tyrone sneaking some of his table scraps under the table allowing Poochie to suck the food into his black hole mouth. Maria puts her hand over Lena's telling her "whatever I told you back then, that you're not my child and you're an abomination, I'm deeply sorry for that. I've now come to accept that I have a wonderful and beautiful daughter. that monster Eterius is out of our lives for good. from now on this family is the only family you'll ever have" followed by Maria hugging Lena who says "Thanks mom. good to know that I also now have an awesome step-dad and little brother" which makes both Darnell and Tyrone smile and laugh. Alex then asks Agent Delta "so are you gonna erase their memories or what? Alpha would be pretty disappointed in you if you let a whole family keep their knowledge of the existence of extraterrestrials" Delta tells Alex "Alpha doesn't have to know. let them be happy for once" causing Alex to smile at the Sullivan family bonding. after that, we cut to the Zodiac's shuttle landing inside Sector 51 HQ where we see several unconscious personnel lying on the floor as we see a familiar figure with a scorpion tail walk over the bodies. this is revealed to be Johnny who pays a visit to his uncle Aculeus in his prison cell. Aculeus asks Johnny "so what did you come here for, nephew? to gawk at me in my cell while I continue to rot in here with the other scum of the universe?" Johnny tells his uncle "I came here for answers. did or did not Sector 51 kill my mother?" Aculeus then drops a bombshell on Johnny telling him "no... It was Eterius who killed your mother" ending our season on a cliffhanger.
