Mortality to magic (Book One) ✔

Chapter 7

Cole is in his penthouse apartment looking out the window where he has a balcony. He stands looking at the view waiting for something.

The seer flames into the room. "Cole we need to talk".

Cole turns around in surprise. "Actually seer I'm a little busy here."

 She smiles "Busy? Of course, no disrespect but I'm here about the girl we was talking about earlier".

Cole stands in an intimidating stance with his arms folded, whilst constantly tapping his foot impatiently. "Yes?, what about her?".
"I had a vision about her my lord."

Cole nods as if this was a everyday occurrence. "And what exactly did you see Seer?."

The seer looks down at the floor and takes a deep breath then looks at Cole directs in the eye. As if she was ready for his reaction.
"I saw her with magic my lord".

Cole takes this in and walks around. "Magic?, What kind of magic exactly?".

The seer replies "I do not know my lord but I do know that she is powerful than anyone thinks." The seer continues "And she is not to be underestimated."

Cole sighs and the seer walks toward him. "Are you sure you want to carry on with your plan?" She adds "she could expose you my lord, it could be dangerous."

Cole says nothing. 

"Perhaps we should try a different plan."

Cole snarls "I am not changing my plans, not now I'm too close to fulfilling it." He looks at the seer 

"And for your information I am not a coward." His eyes turn black. "Now leave me and let's never mention this again." She bows her head and flames out.

The lift pings and Cole's eyes return to normal.  As the lift doors open he sees that it's Colette.

He is standing back in his intimidating stance again clearly annoyed. "Your late."

Colette exits the lift and rolls her eyes at him. "Don't start Cole, I've had a very trying morning."

He laughs at her. "What have you been doing all morning? Your life must be very demanding."

She frowns "You have absolutely no idea what my life is like." 

Cole sets forward "Alright, I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that". Colette nods. "If you must know I was attacked by Titans with the girls this morning and something happened."

He raises his eyebrow at her "What do you mean something happened?"
She dumps her stuff on a chair and looks at him "It seems that your not the only person that can do magic."

He walks toward the balcony "I know, I sensed as much"

Colette walks toward him "You know?"

Colette lets out a sigh of relief and sits down. "Then I guess I should explain."

He sits down opposite her "As you know we are together in the future." He nods and gestures for her to continue. 

"A little while after we got together, it became evident that I had powers." She carries on "I was approached by a group of people". 

Cole finally speaks "Who?". She gets up exasperatedly "I'm getting to that, I still don't even understand it even now." 

He touches her hand to comfort her. She flinches like she's not been touched in a long time. He gestures for her to continue again. "Anyway, the group of people are all magical." 

She continues "Each of them claimed they were my parents."

Cole gestures to her to wait. "Wait a second I thought you were mortal". 

She nods. "Technically I am." 

She sighs "For god sake Cole! Will you please let me explain without your constant interruptions." 

He nods. She smiles "It later turns out that they weren't my parents and each of them had sort of adopted me and at some points in time but I don't remember it." 

She continues "They are my parents to my magical soul not the mortal one." He nods as if he's beginning to understand. 

"But they wouldn't have claimed me like Poseidon did, if I didn't have the ability I have." 

Cole frowns "What ability is that exactly?". She looks at him. "I have the ability to copy people's powers." 

She bites her lip "I can't control it." Cole whistles "Wow some power!" He continues "How did this happen exactly?". 

She shrugs "Honest answer? I don't really know." "It kinda happens without me knowing, that is until I get angry and the powers show themselves."

Cole nods "Your powers are connected to your emotions." 

He adds "You mean like this morning. She nods. "Well not exactly, I found out about me being a demigod first as you know... " she continues "Poseidon found me first, he was the start of all this."

She gets up and walks to the balcony and Cole follows. 

"As for my demon powers.." Cole interrupts her again. "Wait you have demon powers?!" She nods "You gave me them in the future."

He looks shocked "Remember how I knew you were a demon?". He nods "I haven't exactly forgotten that encounter."

She nods "Me and you run the underworld together in the future." 

Cole walks back to the chair and collapses in shock. "Leave now." 

Colette grabs her stuff to leave sensing she's outstayed her welcome and it was better not to make him angry. She heads for the door when Cole speaks "Wait!" Colette turns around "I don't wish to argue with you Cole, you asked me to be honest with you and I have."

He nods and walks toward her. "I should be honest with you, I can't get the day I met you out of my mind." 

He adds "You really feel that way for me?". She nods "I haven't told you everything... Cole puts his finger on her lips "You will in time". He kisses her passionately. Colette pushes him away. He looks at her confused and Colette leaves in tears.
