Jurassic Craft

Chapter 2

I slowly sat up with a yawn and stood up, brushed the leaves off of my jeans and off of my dark green hoodie. Carflo was leaned against a nearby tree, fast asleep.
"Carflo... come on we got work to do."
I mumbled as I made my way past him and over to my bag. He grumbled and slowly stood up. We soon got everything together and headed off back toward the village. We came over the hill once again and saw the village once more.
"There it is. So, what's the plan?"
Carflo said as he crouched next to me.
"Well you head to the left side. I'll head right."
With a nod, we ran off on different directions. I slow led my pace as I got closer to one if the village houses. I couldn't just run around the village; I needed a disguise. I heard a chicken cluck nearby and I turned around to see several chickens running around. I pulled out my sword and made my way toward them. if I was to get into the village unseen I would have to use my power, I would have to shape shift. The chicken looked up to me as I approached and as if I knew what would happen, it walked toward me. I swung my sword at it and it disappeared and I felt myself change. I looks down to see I was now a ordinary Minecraft chicken.
'Perfect, no one expects a chicken.'
I thought as I walked back toward the village. Slowly I made my way through the grass and stop at several houses and peeked through the windows. Nothing. I approached one final house that was bigger than most and hoped into a block next to a window and looked inside. I quickly ducked down as I saw two people put on gear and handed one another swords. Slowly I peeked my head up and listened to their conversation.
"Ok Chris, now we need to head out. We got a job to do."
A boy in a blue hoodie said as he pulled on a iron chest piece.
Another boy in a blue shirt nodded, Chris.
"Cyanide just chill, I got this. Just make sure you don't forget to grab our ammo."
Chris said tossing a bag over his shoulder. I ducked down once more.
'So, it's Chris and Cyanide. Starnge names.'
I peeked back in to see they weren't there anymore. I heard footsteps to my left and looked up to see the two walking down the gravel path and toward an area where it was just barren stone. Following not far behind I saw a cow run in their direction and stop a few blocks away.
'Well there's Carflo. He sucks at acting casual.'
I rolled my eyes and made my way over to the cow.
"Carflo, you aren't very stealthy."
I whispered as I walked past him and toward a group of chickens closer to the two boys. They stopped and mined for a bit and then the one called Cyanide started jumping around holding something in their hand. I walked about closer to see he had several fossils in hand.
'Carflo was right they are after the fossils.'
I started to head back to the hill slowly, trying to avoiding being seen by Chris and Cyanide. I morphed back into myself once I was out of their view and ran towards the hill we were on before. I was almost to the hill when I felt something scratch my leg, causing me to stubble and fall on my belly. I stood brushing the dirt off and looked to see what I had got hurt on. There stood a small spiky plant.
"Dammit, not a thistle."
Thistles were a plant that caused bad poisoning, just a touch could make you sick. I broke off in a sprint, I needed to get to Carflo before the poison set in. The hill soon came into view and I saw Carflo putting a yellow square plate into his bag.
'He must have gotten the helicopter.'
I made it to the top of the hill and stubbled, falling to the ground. Carflo crouched by my side and helped me stand.
"Woah, Valerie, what's the rush."
My vision got blurry and before I passed out I muttered.
"Thistles."
