Chapter 17

I sat on the edge of the wall and looked up at the moon, slowly planning how I would get my revenge.
"Valerie...."
Looking over my shoulder I saw Carflo standing there. I looked back into the distance in the direction of the old house. Carflo sat next to me and sighed.
"I know your probably really flustered right now and I understand that you want to get revenge but right now I need you."
He grabbed my hand.
"Promise me you won't go off and do something dangerous. I can't loose you."
I looked up at him and smiled.
"I promise..."
He smiled, stood up,-still holding my hand-,and pulled me up.
"Come on, let's get some rest."
As we walked, I was still aware of him still holding my hand. I debated on whether or not to pull away. I mean I do like Carflo but I'd never really gotten close to anyone but Carflo. When we got into the library, he let me go and climbed down the ladder.when I got to the bottom he was heading over to the cultivator rooms.
"I'm gonna go work on the cultivators."
I nodded and walked across the room and down the hall to my room. When I got to my room I laid on my back and stared at the ceiling.
In my head, I couldn't except the idea that we were probably beaten. Sure, they had the base, the technology, and more people. All we had was our swords, the dinosaurs, and each other.
I sighed and stood up. Walking down the hall I poked my head into the cultivator room.
"Hey I'm gonna go for a run."
He looking back at me he nodded.
"Just don't go do anything you'll regret."
"I smiled I won't."
Making my way up the ladder, I pushed out the front door. The sun was just rising. I morphed into a bat and flew until I landed in the woods. After that I turned into a wolf and did laps around the forest until I couldn't run anymore. Sometimes I ran when I couldn't think, the fresh air always seemed to clear my mind. I morphed back into myself breathing heavily and laid on the grass, staring at the sky. I relaxed and closed my eyes. The outdoors seemed to always calm me.
*snap*
My eyes shot open and I sat up.
"Come out. I already know you here."
The bushes behind me rustled and the girl Kaili came out with her bow in hand ready to fire. I sighed and pulled my knees up to my chest.
"What do you want? Here to gloat about getting you little friend back?"
I said glaring at her. She looked over her shoulder and the slung her bow across her back.
"I just wanna talk..."
Looking up at her, I shrugged.
"About what? Because if it's not important I'm leaving."
She sat on the grass in front if me.
"What is your problem with us?"
I tilted my head.
"Well you guys did kinda invade our house, take our land, and pretty much everything we owned. So I see many a reason to hate you.
