"Uwaahh...uwaahh...." The crying infant cried heartbreakingly as he lay in his mother's arms.

"Haha...it's a pity......" the soft, tired voice reverberated in the silent ward of the bustling hospital. The room, which should've been filled with congratulating voices and celebrations for the birth of her child, was now deadly silent. Just like her heart.

Her dull eyes gazed far into the horizon of the city. The brilliant lights twinkling under the dark night sky seemed to have nothing to do with her. With a glance, she saw the peacefully snuggled baby in her arms.

Truly pitiful luck this child had....

"Heh! Hehe....HAHAHAHAHA!!" Bursting out in a sudden laughter, she ignored the tears that rolled down her eyes. This life was vain. Maybe....to not be any more of a burden....she could do one thing. It was actually a nice present she finally thought of. She was sure Noah would be happy.

His shackles would finally be broken.

Their shackles would break finally......

She was sure he would be the happiest then....and she would be at peace.

Walking listlessly to the wide window of her hospital room....she took a last glance at her memories.

The next second, she took the jump that she might have never even thought about in her youthful days. She became even the murderer of her own child.....but nothing mattered anymore. She was finally at peace. She was relieved of her miserable fate.

Coward? Was she? Maybe. Then...she was happy to end herself; her cowardly self that couldn't get strong even for her child. This was surely better.

As she believed so.

His drunken mind swirled as he collapsed on the sofa. The dim light flickering in the hall occasionally lighted up the framed picture hanging on the wall that depicted a newly married couple.

With his hazy sight, he squinted his eyes and finally saw the beautiful woman in the picture. Like being enchanted, he stood up from the sofa and gently walked towards the picture. With a stretched hand, he tried touching the picture but with a slight jerk from his hands, the picture fell to the tiled floor; the glass shattered to pieces.

The sound unspeakably raised a panic in his heart. However, his blurry mind prevented him from thinking any further into his emotions. With a blank stare, he looked at the messed up floor.

Somehow...the broken glass reminded him of his marriage with that beautiful girl in the picture.

Not knowing what he was thinking, he took out his phone out of his side pocket and tapped on the contacts. The unfamiliar number that reflected on his deep eyes somehow made him feel anxious. Swapping over the number, he dialled the one above it.

"Hey Noah~ we separated an hour ago only lol! You sure are active! Want me to come over, or will you?" a sweet voice floated out of the phone right after the connection.

Frowning a bit, he said in a hoarse voice, "Come over." After that he disconnected the call without waiting further. However, the anxiety in him grew, as if telling him something was gravely wrong. Nevertheless, he couldn't think any further as just then a woman clad in a sexy bright red dress walked right through the door and hugged him from behind.

"Should we get right into it~?" the sweet seducing voice floated into his ears, arousing his drunken desires. Ignoring the painful pang in his heart, he took hold of the woman by her waist and walked into his room which was right beside his wife's.

Yes indeed. Married for six years and they failed to even share a bedroom. What else should he care for?

Glancing over the silent corridor in front of his wife's room, he closed the door to his own. The phone that he had kept on the dining table rang for almost ten missed calls before falling silent under the soft moans echoing in the cold empty house.
