Chapter 25

Skylar's POV

It was around 5:30 that I finally left Lily's house. The guys kept messaging me asking me where I was. Of course I never answered. Did they really expect me to just pop in, ask about her love life, and leave? Especially since I haven't seen her in a while, they should've expected this. I knocked on the door of their house and just hoped that Lily didn't watch me come over here. I didn't even think of that! What if she's watching me right now? I went to turn my head and check but the door flew opening, someone grabbing my wrists and pulling me in.

"Hey! Rude much?" I said as I walked in. 

"Well if you had answered us and not taken over two hours it would've been great." Mike said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes at him. If he wants to be like this, I could just leave.

"Well if you want to be rude then I should really be getting on ma way." I said and turned around. He sighed.

"Stop, I'm sorry." He said. Power. It's a great feeling. So I turned around and faced him. "Vics in the basement." He said with a smirk and turned, walking towards the basement. Sometimes its really hard to believe that he's a sophomore and not in our grade, if not older. "Oh, by the way, I was talking to Jaime and he said that last night he thought Daniel was a little stiff, so he spiked all his drinks. If that helps at all I don't know, but its pretty funny." He said with a laugh. That's probably why he kissed her! It makes sense now; he was buzzed and probably fell for Lily's eyes in the moonlight or something.

I followed him down into the basement and saw Vic sitting on the couch, writing in a leather bound journal. When Mike cleared his throat he closed the journal without even looking up. Putting it behind him, he looked up with hope in his eyes.

"Well?" he asked once Mike and I sat down. They both looked at me.

"Well, it's a bit complicated." I said and went on to tell them about it all. How they're not dating, but kissed, and that she has her eye on someone but doesn't feel like she is ready for a relationship. I know I didn't want to tell them everything, but the look on Vic's face really made me want to help them. He's my friend too, and I want to help him in his desperate state of amore. Though, he seemed kind of embarrassed to be a part of this. I get it though, I can't imagine having a little brother and my friend try to set me up with another one of my friends.

"Okay, since that's the case, we skip to phase three. Vic, it's pretty much all you now." Mike said and looked at Vic. I remember phase 3 was for Vic to get really close with Lily, be her best friend and all that. This could work though. As long as we don't rush this.

"I think I'm ready." Vic said, speaking strongly for the first time today.

Lily's POV

When everything for the day was said and done time seemed to move slower than usual, so I decided to sit outside and enjoy the air. I'm glad that even in the winter it won't get too cold to the point that I can't sit out here. My head felt weird. I should be thinking about everything. I feel like everything should be going really fast but its all moving in slow motion.

At this point I feel there's only really one thing that I need to do. Confront Jake. He messaged me again today and asked me how I was. Of course I didn't answer. But if I don't end this soon it'll haunt me all year. But of course, I'm going to avoid all my problems until the last absolute second.

There was a chill in the air that was ruining my relaxation, so I decided to go inside. Shutting the door behind me, I realized my house wasn't silent and what I heard chilled me to the bone. Screaming. My parents... they're fighting. I've heard them fight before but it was never this bad. There was never screaming. This was bad. It scared me. Shaking, I opened my door and stepped into the hallway.
