Kids are still depressed when you dress them up
Lily's POV
Friday
This past week went by faster than I thought it would. It was really nothing though, just a lot of anticipation. My mom hasn't talked to me about the situation at hand and I haven't brought it up. Maybe she's trying to keep it from me because she thinks it'll be better for me if I don't know. But here's the real question, would it have been better if I didn't know or better if I did know? I don't mind that my mom is keeping it from me; I mean it's for my own mental state. I also haven't talked to my dad since he popped up here.
I've also officially come to terms with my emotions. I do like Vic and I think if he were to ever ask me out, it would be worth the risk. The past week all I've been doing is hanging out with them. Tomorrow is Halloween and the party. Right now, I'm at Skylar's house since school just ended. Skylar was in charge of getting the costumes and now we were getting them and going to Vic's house.
"Here, take this bag. You have the rest of your stuff right?" Skylar said and handed me a duffel bag. I had to get my own shirt, tights, and shoes for the costume.
"Yeah, can I see them?" I said, excited. She hasn't let us see anything she got.
"No, not until we get to the house. Come on lets go." She said and ushered us out of the house. I was way too excited for this. We were walking silently down the street when Sky spoke up.
"So, tomorrows Halloween. Do you have your verdict?" She asked. I turned to her confused. Verdict? What is she talking about?
"Huh?" I said, still confused on what she was talking about. Was there anything I had to decide by Halloween?
"Remember, you said you'd think about it and then tell me on Halloween." She said. Oh right. I do have my 'verdict', but who knows what she'll so with this information.
"Todays not Halloween though." I said with a smirk, finding my loophole. She sucked in a deep breath. Obviously she was annoyed, but in a funny way.
"Well I can't do anything if you tell me tomorrow you fucking rusty microwave." She said with a straight face. Rusty microwave? I burst out laughing as we walked down the street. Where the hell do you come up with that?
"Rusty microwave?" I repeated, still laughing. She was obviously holding back laughs. Maybe we can go the whole walk procrastinating my decision.
"Yes, now come on. Please tell me." she said. She's my best friend. If I can't tell her who can I tell?
"Fine. I've actually been thinking about it for a while. I do. I really like Vic and I have no clue what to do about it. Sky this could ruin everything." I said and closed my eyes, then opening them again realizing I'm walking on the sidewalk and not in my house. The last thing I want to do is fall in the middle of the street. Last time I did that I met Vic.
"Lil... what do you mean?" she said, her voice softening. How does she not get it?
"I mean that if we were to date what if we ruined the whole dynamic of our friends? What if we caused something and none of us were friends anymore? It could ruin everything." I huffed. She sighed. Maybe I'm being too negative, but I'm truly being real. Serious shit could happen because of this.
"Lil you can't think like that. We're a very chill group of friends, I don't think a couple could break us all up." She said. It's always possible. Anything is possible in high school. For the next ten minutes Sky kept trying to convince me why we'd make a good couple and why it would all turn out okay. When we ended up in front of Vic's house we walked around back and to the back door.
