Lily's POV
"You're gonna look gorgeous when I'm done." Skylar said to me as she applied eye shadow on my eyelid. Tonight was my first actual date with Vic and Skylar wanted to do my hair and makeup. Vic and I are just going out to some Mexican food place and coming back here. The only catch right now is... I haven't told Skylar. I told her I was going out to dinner tonight and she asked to do my face. I haven't told her about us dating yet, or Halloween, and I was planning to tell her over the phone, but I wanted to see her reaction.
"Sky, I need to tell you something." I said. She stopped moving the brush around and I opened my eyes. Her face was still and curious as she waited. "Something happened on Halloween that I didn't tell you about yet." I continued and her eyes widened.
"What happened?" She asked, looking eager. I smiled and brushed my freshly curled hair behind my ear. I don't even know how to phrase this without being risqué.
"Well. Vic and I-" I said and I guess that's all I really needed to say since Skylar abruptly cut me off. She jumped up and babbled words that I could barely understand, most of them being 'I knew it'. "Do you even want to know?" I asked. She sat down in front of me again calming down.
"Well we were relaxing in a room and I don't even know what happened. We just somehow ended up kissing. For a long time." I said and took a deep breath.
"Are you guys dating?" She asked, nearly in a hush. With all the memories coming back I had to collect myself. I could feel him above me and his hands on the back of my neck, letting the smile spread on my face I looked down.
"Then after we just kinda stared at each other a little more and he asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes and we spent the rest of the night dancing together." I said. We danced like we had never danced before. We danced like we were one body moving as one instead of two bodies trying to dance together. I'd never danced like I did with him. The entire night was something out of a movie and I'm still wondering if it was even real. Skylar looked giddy and overly excited.
"We knew it oh my gosh." She whispered as she put the eyeshadow brushes away. Wait a minute. We?
"Who's we?" I asked. Her hands stopped moving and she looked at me. She let out a little laugh and I knew she's been up to something.
"Well, Mike and I have known for a while that you two were going to get together at some point." She said. I rolled my eyes at her and stood up, looking in the mirror. Everything was natural and I liked how it all looked.
"Gloat all you want. It's not like you planned for this to happen. There's no way you could've done that." I said and laughed a little. I couldn't imagine her and Mike playing matchmaker for Vic and me.
She laughed behind me as she was putting her makeup away. She's really good with makeup, I could see her doing it one day. I let my hair fall over my back and looked to the casual outfit I had on. Black jeans and a nice shirt. Not much polishing up for this. "You're gonna be late for your date. Come on, let's go." She said and we walked out of my room. My first date. Jake and I never went on actual dates, we saw movies and stuff but we never did anything like going out to dinner.
I should probably stop comparing that relationship to this one, but I really just hope this one goes better.
"I can't wait to hear all about this." She said as we got downstairs. Honestly, I'm nervous for this. What do you even do on a date like this? What if he doesn't like the way I eat? He's seen me eat before, but what if he just never focused on it? We'll be alone, we can only focus on each other. My heart started to beat faster as we got downstairs and my mom grabbed her purse. Her friend just moved here so she's going to visit for dinner or something like that.
