Lily's POV

My dad never came home that night. I know that for a fact, because that night I didn't sleep until four in the morning. I really doubt he would've come back after four. As I sit up in my bed, I kinda wished that I actually slept more last night instead of staying up. Maybe he'll come home tonight. I don't know if I hate him or if I still have hope in him, in this family. But I stood up, because I know that I can't let him put my life on hold. I need to go on as if nothing is wrong and be strong, mostly for my mom.

After trudging downstairs I could see my mom standing in the kitchen, sipping coffee and making eggs. She only makes eggs on special days, so something is defiantly going down today.

"Morning Mom." I said, walking over to the table. He wasn't home, and I can't help but wonder where he is. Friends? Hotel? Is he still even in town still? I heard my mom talking to one of her friends on the phone last night, my dad had come back while we weren't home and took most of his things. A lot of things were left, so he needs to come back at one point.

"Hey sweetie, eggs?" she said and pushed some eggs onto a plate. She looked... normal. As if nothing was going on and she was as happy as could be. But I never know. She may be as happy as can be. Her and my father have been having some fallouts lately and maybe this is the best for her.

"Yeah, thank you." I said and sat down. She walked over to the table with two places of eggs. This confused me on the inside, yet I didn't show it on the out. My mom hasn't eaten breakfast with me since the summer. On school days she usually gets some organic smoothie on the way to work and on the weekends we just don't really do special breakfasts, unless its a special occasion. Both making an abnormal breakfast and sitting with me to eat. She's changing. I think I like it.

My mom and I dove into a conversation about how one of her friends are moving here too and how happy she is. The happiness radiating off my moms face made me happy too, and I was kinda upset when she told me to go get dressed. I like spending time with my mom, but I obeyed her and walked up the stairs and into my room.

After the process of hair, makeup, and clothes I walked downstairs surprised to see my mom still there. Not only still there, but still in her robe sipping her coffee.

"Staying home today mom?" I asked, curious as to why. There's a lot going on right now and I'm glad she's not overwhelming herself.

"Yep. I need a day to think a bunch of things out so I'm staying home." She said. I slung my bag over my shoulder and put my combat boots on.

"That's really good mom. I'll pop by after school if I'm going anywhere." I said. There aren't any plans for after school but who knows what'll happen during the day.

"Speaking of school, you should get going or you'll be late." My mom said. Classic mom. I rolled my eyes and heard a little laugh from my mom. After a round of goodbyes I was out the door. As soon as I closed my door I heard them get up off their porch and walk towards me. I turned and smiled at the two Fuentes boys walking towards me.

"Hey guys." I said as they caught up to me. I stood in the middle of them as we all walked.

"Hey Lil." Vic said. I can't remember the last time he called me by my actual name.

"Have you thought about the costumes for Halloween?" Mike said all giddily. He seemed really excited to know what I think and it was really funny. Truly, I don't care. They just need to tell me what to wear and how not to look like a fool at the beach house party they're taking me to.

"Not much, what about you guys." I asked, though its kinda obvious they've thought about Halloween too much.

"Well I know Sky and I want Wizard of Oz and Vic, what did you want to do?" Mike said. He wants Wizard of Oz? I honestly thought he want to do something like ninja turtles.
