I'll Be Better

It's Just a Fling, Not Destiny

"You always do this! I'm so tired!" Ddot shouts at DD.

"Chill. I'm sorry." DD "apologizes".

"I'm sorry doesn't cut it. You cheated on me for the thousandth time." He says, his voice cracking.

"I don't understand why you always complaining. It's not that deep." DD tries to calm him down.

"Yes, it is. DD, I love you. I want to be with you. I want this to work out." Ddot pours his heart out.

"Chill, bro. It's just a fling."

"What? Just a fling? Is that all this was to you, DD?"

"Yeah. Don't tell me you thought-"

"Yes, I did. It's been 6 months. You should've said that earlier, so I wouldn't have wasted my time!" He cries, leaving DD's room.

Notti hears all the noise and leaves his room. He sees Ddot crying. "What happened?" He asks him.

"DD said what we had was just a fling." He cries. "I thought we were meant to be. I thought it was destiny."

"He's a jerk. I'm here for you, though. Let's go to my room."

When they get to his room he says to Ddot, "Wait here." He walks out and soon after Ddot hears some commotion. When he comes back he has a bruised lip which is bleeding.

"What happened?" DDot asks concerned.

"Me and DD had a talk." He says cleaning his lip. "There may have been a few punches here and there, but overall we just had a nice talk."

"You didn't have to do that. You shouldn't have. I don't want to drag you into this. I don't want you to get hurt."

"No, I did. It's fine, you're my friend and he's being a jerk. And I promise, I'm gonna be fine. I'm not gonna get hurt. Besides, someone needed to knock the sense into him. I swear, it's like sometimes he doesn't think. Maybe he doesn't even have a brain. That wouldn't be a surprise."

This makes Ddot laugh. "You're definitely the better brother." 

"Thanks, but I think we all already knew that." He jokes.

 Ddot laughs again. 'He's so funny. And kind and caring. And he's a good guy and he's cute. Why wasn't I with him instead? DDot thinks to himself.

1 YEAR LATER:

Notti is lying on his bed using his phone when Ddot walks into his room. 

"Guess what's in a month." Ddot asks excited.

Notti turns to him and taps his finger on his chin, "Hmm. I wonder. Is it National Dance Like a Chicken Day?" He jokes acting like he doesn't know.

Ddot laughs. "What? Is that even real?"

"It is. I swear."

"Well, you got it wrong. Guess again."

"Is it National Eat More Fruits and Vegetables Day?" He jokes again.

"No. C'mon be serious." He says walking over and sitting on Notti's bed.

"Okay. Okay. Is it National Pipe Organ Day?" He continues joking.

"Well," Ddot smirks. "I'm sure you'll do that to me in a month."

Notti puts his hand on Ddot's thigh. "I definitely will pipe your organs." He smirks back. "And don't worry, I didn't forget. It's gonna be our one year anniversary." He had even already gotten Ddot's gift.

"You remembered!" Ddot said kissing his cheek.

"Of course I did." He sits up. "I love you." He says looking the boy in the eyes. 

Ddot still wasn't used to it, so he was blushing and all tingly inside. "I love you, too." They kiss.

"Imma grab a snack from the kitchen, you want one?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. Imma be right back." He walks out of Notti's room and is making his way to the kitchen, when DD stops him. 

"Hey, Ddot." DD looks him up and down. "You look good today." He says biting his lip.

This makes Ddot roll his eyes. "Back off. I got a boyfriend."

"I was just saying." DD says with his hands up backing away.

He goes to the kitchen and grabs two bags of chips and goes back to Notti's room.

"Your dumb brother was harassing me when I was just trying to get some snacks." Ddot says as he walks in.

"What did he do?" Notti said standing up.

"He was checking me out and said 'You look good today'. I told him to back off." He says putting the snacks down.

"Good." He says walking over to Ddot. "This is why I love you. Imma be right back though." He walks out and in a few seconds Ddot hears DD yell out in pain.  

Notti walks back in shortly after and Ddot says to him, "Don't hurt your brother. He didn't do anything bad."

"He was flirting with my boyfriend. Is that not bad? Why should he get a free pass?"

"Alright, I get it but, it's not that bad. No one was harmed, don't do it again." He says knowing that he was speaking to deaf ears.

"Yeah. Okay. Let's just watch a movie." Notti said walking toward his bed.

They both lie down on the bed and watch the movie while eating their snacks. Only 30 minutes in Ddot is already asleep on Notti's chest. Notti sees this and shakes his head. "Can't even last thirty minutes in a movie, yet you can last at least an hour in bed." 

He turns the T.V off and just lies with him. He looks at him one last time before closing his eyes. "You're so beautiful." He kisses his forehead and closes his eyes.

DD was watching through the cracked door. He was jealous. It's not fair. He was with Ddot first. He had Ddot before Notti, now Notti acts like Ddot is all his and no one else can touch him or talk to him. 

His feelings for Ddot have come back stronger than ever and he wanted nothing more than to be with him. Especially since his girlfriend had broken up with him a few days ago, he was free to pursue Ddot. He knew he had had his chance before, but things were different at that time. Now, he was ready to be in a more than a fling. He was ready to be in a committed relationship.

He would do anything and I mean anything for Ddot to be his.
