I'll Be Better

It's over

It was dark now and the two were in the car together driving to Ddot's house. When they arrived and DD parked DDot says, "Thank you so much, DD. For everything. He takes the bag and the box and exits the car. 

"You're welcome." DD smiles at him.

He runs to the door and unlocks it. DD watches the other boy do this. His eyes then drift to the passenger seat and he sees that Ddot left the card, pen, and a crunch bar.

He didn't want to be nosey, but he wanted to see what Ddot wrote to Notti.

The card read:

Dear DD

Thank you so much for taking me out today. It was really fun and exciting and beautiful. Definitely one of the best days of my life. I really am happy now and can't thank you enough. Thank you so much for caring about me and my feelings. I really appreciate you using your own money to make me happy. The best part and my favorite part was the sunset. It's so beautiful. You showed me something new. Here's a small little gift that is nothing compared to the day that you gave me, but it's something.

When Ddot walked in the house, he was greeted by his mom.

"Hey , Darrian. How was it?" 

He smiles. "It was really good. " He said still smiling.

"What did you guys do?"

"We went to the movies, then the mall where he bought me all this." He says showing her the clothes and shoes. "He also organized a picnic where we watched the sunset together." He continued.

"Ooohhhh. He likes you. You like him, too, don't you?" 

"No, I don't. I'm still with Notti."

"When was the last time you talked to Notti?" 

Ddot is silent.

"Exactly. Just break up with-"

"I'm not breaking up with him. I love him."

"Honestly, I think DD is better than Notti. He's definitely changed. But it's your choice."

Ddot rolls his eyes and goes to his room. He puts all the stuff on his bed and reflects on the day. He really liked it. He found that he also really enjoyed being with DD. 

Was my mom right? Do I like DD?  I don't. I can't. What about Notti? I love him. And we're still together. DD is just my friend. He thought to himself.

DD didn't know the card was actually for him. The card was really sweet and touching and made DD smile. He drove home smiling all the way. Ddot didn't know that it meant a lot to DD.  When DD enters the house it's silent except for a shuffling noise. He goes to inspect the noise and hears it coming from Notti's room. He goes to Notti's room and and knocks on the door.

There is no response causing DD to just walk in. He sees Notti cleaning his room. Notti glares at him and hands him a jacket. "Give this to your boyfriend." He says angrily. 

DD takes it and walks to his room. He puts the jacket on his bed. He puts the card, pen, and chocolate down on his desk. He takes a seat next to the on the bed next to the jacket and looks at the gift and smiles. Its at this moment he realizes that Ddot said he was special, in a good way. To be exact a special someone. His plan was working. Ddot just might be his.
