I'll Be Better

It's not a date

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. DO SOMETHING GOOD/NICE FOR YOUR MOM.

He knew that he had given up Ddot to DD, but he still couldn't help but feel anger and jealousy. 

"Ddot, I was just joking." DD tells him while still in the hug. "You didn't have to actually hug me.

"I want to." He replies still holding him tight.

Notti goes to his room feeling sad and angry at the same time. 

THE NEXT DAY:

Ddot sees Notti walk past him with Octavia Johnson III while he's going to first. He sees Notti look at him from the corner of his eye. They make eye contact for a few seconds. Ddot doesn't try to talk to him this time. 

DD walks up to Ddot. "Hey, Ddot. Class is gonna start soon. Let me walk you to your first."

"Alright." He says still staring at Notti.

While they are walking DD says, "Don't worry about him. It's gonna ruin your day. Just try to be happy. At least for today."

DD was right. He should be happy for at least a day and stop worrying. "Alright."

"I wanna take you out today." DD tells him.

"DD-" 

"No. Not like that." He immediately clears up the misunderstanding. "Just as friends to cheer you up." 

"That's really sweet, DD. But I feel like you're trying to get me back. You already know that-"

"No, I know. I just wanted to do something nice for you as a friend. I'm not trying to sway you. Besides, I already have a new girlfriend." He lies.

"Really? I didn't even know."

"Yeah. I haven't told anybody until now. I trust you the most." He says smiling at Ddot. 

This made Ddot feel special. The reason he was always trying to avoid DD was not only because he was being weird and kept trying to flirt with him, but also because he was scared he would go back to him. He still had feelings for DD up until a few months ago. Even while he was dating Notti. They faded away slowly. He didn't want those feelings to come back, so he kept avoiding him, especially because of how DD hurt him.

"Alright, I'll see if I can go." Ddot says entering his class.

DD walks to his class smiling all the way. He was gonna hang out with Ddot. Just them alone. They was gonna have the best date ever. He already planned it out.

1 HOUR AFTER SCHOOL ENDED:

Ddot had gotten permission to go out with DD and was at his door. He was kind of nervous, but pushed it aside and knocked at the door. DD, who answered the door, was dressed nicer than usual.

"Why are you dressed like that?" Ddot asks confused.

"Because we're going out." 

"You said it wasn't a date."

"I mean like out in public. I dress nicer going out to places than school or home. Why would anyone put a lot of effort into getting dressed for SCHOOL of all things?"

"Vaild point." 

Notti hears their voices from his room and sneaks over to eavesdrop. 

Ddot shrugged. "Where are we going?" 

"I got tickets to that new movie. I also recently got some money, so we can go to the mall. I was gonna wrap it up with a surprise."

"C'mon. Tell me what's last." Ddot begs.
