I'll Be Better

He hates me

Let's pretend that I didn't take 100 years to update this book.

Ddot walked into his house after a long day of school and went to his room. He set his bag down and went to get a snack.

"How was school?" His mom asked.

"Uhh, it was...alright. It was the same as usual." He said thinking about his school day.

"Anything with Notti and DD?"

" No,I-I'm supposed to choose, but I can't. I technically don't know who to choose." He confesses. He hadn't told his mom yet.

"You already know what I think. But it's your choice." She stops for a second. "Wait, technically?"

"I'm still deciding, but I am mostly leaning in one direction."

"Who?" She asks eager to know.

"DD." 

She nods. "That's great." She said sounding off.

"What's wrong?" Ddot asked concerned.

"I mean I'm rooting for DD, but it's weird, like you were so in love with Notti and like...I don't know. It's just kind of weird."

"Well people change."

"Are you talking about Notti or yourself?" 

"Notti, obviously. He's way more clingy and jealous." Ddot says without taking even a second to consider what she said.

"Or are you more distant?"

"No." 

"Okay." She says not believing him.

"What? I didn't change, he did."

"Just think about it."

"I don't need to." He says exiting the kitchen with his snack. He said he didn't need to, but he was going to. He just couldn't get it out of his head.

An hour later he comes out of his room into the living room where his mom was. "I think you were right." He said.

"What?"

"I think I did change, but he definitely also changed."

"Rethinking your decision?"

"A little." He says and thinks for a minute. "I mean DD is sweet, caring, and patient, and he's done so much for me, which don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for," He starts, "but Notti, he's been that and so much more, for a long time, time and time again. He never wronged me. He always did right by me." Ddot finishes, smiling.

It's in this moment Ddot realizes that the right choice was Notti. It had been him all along. He was so blinded by his past relationship and feelings for DD that he couldn't see that.

And instead of thinking and coming to a decision, before this even really became a problem, he just threw himself back into the mix of confusion, by getting back with Notti, based off of what he thought he should do, even though he still had feelings for DD. This ruined his relationship with Notti.

"Are you okay?" Ddot's mom asks shaking him for the third time.

"I messed up." 

"What did you do?"

"Everything."

Ddot was outside of DD and Notti's house and he knocked on the door. DD opened the door and smiled. "Hey, what are you doing here?"
