With the return of Natasha and Clint, the Avengers were having a meeting. And, of coure, Percy was listening in. They were in the process of looking for the sceptre which HYDRA stole from them, after they were forced underground. Loki's sceptre was one of the most powerful objects on the planet, so, as you can imagine, they were a little antsy to get it back. Natasha and Clint were sent out on a lead, which didn't get them anything. They took down a couple HYDRA agents, but they did not find any traces of the sceptre. They were growing annoyed. Bruce was in some lab and Thor was still off world, meaning the team wasn't complete, and the Avengers lost their two biggest arsenals. Honestly, Percy felt sorry for them, they were still a new team, they didn't know each other as well as they should and they didn't work together, as well as they could. It was no wonder they weren't getting anywhere in their mission. How could they work as a team, if they didn't even know their team? Percy was embarrassed for them. Surely, this wasn't normal for Mortal teams, she has seen what their armies can do.

"These ass clowns saved the city?" Percy scoffed, shaking her head as James sat next to her. James gave her a look, Percy continued. "They are chasing their tails... doing all the same shit. Legacy of Athena my ass. How come you're out here? They could use you, right now, desperately. For seventy years, you were deep in HYDRA, with your knowledge, they could take the whole organisation down in a couple of hours, forget a few months."

James coughed uncomfortably, and he shuffled in his spot. "I'm not ready for all that, not yet." He quietly confessed.

She cringed, apologetic. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay." James smiled, shrugging. "I'd help, if I could, but they don't want me to help them. They're scared it might trigger me or something. Undo everything we've done, to get me better. I'm a liability now." He frowned, how very self depreciating.

"Jay, you aren't a liability." She promised, carefully taking his hand as to not scare him. He couldn't help but disagree. Percy continued. "Listen to me... Your trauma does not make you a liability, to anybody. You are not letting it consume you, you're moving on, and you are actively trying to get better. That is the complete opposite of a liability. When I was seventeen, Hera kidnapped me and wiped my memories, she dropped me into a Roman camp and I nearly started another war between the Roman and Greeks, just for existing. And yes, I do mean that Hera. As in, Queen of Olympus; Goddess of Marriage. My Aunt. Nearly a thousand years of peace, and, in less than six weeks, I nearly fuck it up, by just being me. Now that's a liability."

James stifled a laugh. "That -- that's not funny." He coughed awkwardly, trying to hide his amusement. "That's really bad." He nodded, pulling a serious face.

"It's a little funny." She nudged him. "But, there's nothing scarier than the Queen of the Gods hating you, just for being you... then again, most Gods hate me."
