First Christmas

Grey was currently trying to untangle a strand of Christmas lights while Jaxon set up the tree in the corner of his apartment. Christmas was coming faster than he realized.

When Jaxon asked him if he wanted him to come over and help decorate, Grey informed him that he hadn't ever bothered to get a tree or anything really since he always spent Christmas at his parent's house. Jaxon looked at Grey like he had just kicked his dog. The next day, he called and said he was bringing a tree over. Grey was expecting one of those plastic artificial trees, but no...Jaxon brought over a real one. He also brought over lights, ornaments, and decorations. He was also wearing a red Santa hat. Grey would have never thought he was so into the holiday.

He was still trying to figure out what to get him. When he asked, Jaxon just told him that spending their first Christmas together was present enough, but Grey knew that was pure bullshit. Jaxon had probably already gotten him something thoughtful and special. Even after asking Blake and Drew for ideas...all of theirs being way too suggestive...Grey still hadn't come up with anything. And he only had a few weeks left!

After they were done decorating, Jaxon plugged in the Christmas lights before turning off the apartment lights. Grey had to admit, the twinkling multi-colored strands did look nice and festive. Jaxon walked over to his side, sliding an arm across his shoulders.

"You like it?" He asked, smiling proudly. Grey leaned into him, smiling back.

"Yeah, it looks nice," he replied, "thank you." Jaxon turned and pecked a quick kiss on his lips. Then another. Then, one that was just a little bit longer. Until they were devouring each other's lips and stumbling over to the couch. Grey fell back first, pulling Jaxon down on top of him. He reached up to yank off his hat, but Grey grabbed his wrist, stopping him.

"Leave the hat on." He ordered lowly. Jaxon let out a deep growl.

"Looks like someone's about to be on Santa's naughty list." He murmured, swooping down to capture his lips in a heated kiss.

A few weeks later, they headed over to Jaxon's parent's house on Christmas Eve. Since they opened presents tonight and had Christmas Day breakfast together and Grey's family got together in the evening for dinner, this worked out perfectly for them. Jaxon coasted to a stop in the driveway behind his dad's truck and they both jumped out. Grey noticed a few more cars that he didn't recognize parked by the curb out front. He grabbed their bags from the back and Jaxon grabbed the presents as they made their way inside. It was warm and smelled like sugar cookies. Christmas carols were playing softly from the TV in the living room. Jaxon took the presents to the living room and their bags from Grey he left by the front door. Jaxon took their jackets and hung them up in the coat closet by the front door, which was almost full to bursting.

"Ready?" He asked, smiling, taking Grey's hand and giving it a little squeeze. Grey gave him a shaky smile before nodding. They headed towards the voices coming from the kitchen and paused in the doorway for a second. Grey recognized Angelo, Damon, and Noah right away, but there were also a lot of new faces. Jaxon told him that Angelo's two older brothers, his younger sister, their children, and his grandparents were going to be there. He didn't mention anything about Damon's family, but Grey wasn't sure if it was his place to ask. They all turned interested eyes towards them as their conversation lulled to a stop. Grey wanted to duck behind Jaxon but just tightened his grip on his hand and fought the urge. Jaxon gave him a reassuring smile before turning towards his family and started introducing him to everyone.

Grey was sure he was going to forget most of their names before the night was over, but so far, everybody was friendly and so patient, which he appreciated. When Jaxon led Grey into the small den off of the kitchen to introduce him to all his younger cousins, the kids immediately took up with him even little Lilah, the youngest, who was usually her mother's shadow, and climbed into Grey's lap when he sat down on the couch. There was just something about his gentle disposition that had all the kids flocking around him and seeing Grey smile and patiently give them each individual attention had crazy thoughts of the future running unbridled through Jaxon's mind. Children are usually the best judges of character and hard to impress, so seeing how easily Grey was accepted by them, Jaxon knew he was already amazing, but this just confirmed it.

Jaxon ducked out to quickly grab them something to drink and when he came back, he saw Angelo and his aunt, Gina, watching from the doorway. He peeked over their heads and saw Grey was getting some kind of game organized for the kids using cups and cotton balls. And all the kids were eagerly helping.

"This is amazing," Gina murmured, shaking her head, "we usually have to break up fights by now." Jaxon chuckled softly and they turned to him.

"You've got yourself a keeper, honey," Gina cooed playfully, pinching his cheek, "I'm happy for you." His face was starting to hurt because he couldn't stop smiling. Gina headed back into the kitchen to help finish dinner and Angelo turned to Jaxon, giving his arm a gentle squeeze.

"So everything's going good?" He asked, smiling back. Jaxon nodded.

"Yeah, it's going great." He replied. Angelo glanced at Grey, who gave them a little wave and a shy smile before turning his attention back to the kids.

"Hmm...things are looking pretty serious," Angelo said, turning to Jaxon, "do you think there might be a...certain question you'll be asking Grey soon?" Jaxon glanced at Grey as an impromptu "snowball" fight had broken out using the cotton balls. He was laughing and those beautiful eyes were sparkling. Jaxon gave his Dad a secretive grin and a casual shrug before heading back to Grey.
