[Mother's Day to me is and will always be the 10 of May. Fight me. My parents are both from Mexico and I grew up switching between a year or two in Mexico and a year or two in the US (Ever heard the song 'Freeze Your Brain'? The First verse? That's me TvT) and so I always celebrated mother's name the 10 and will for the rest of my life.]

[Flashback chapter :3 It's all spoken English since we're back in Norrisville and there's no reason to differentiate between languages so I'm not gonna bold it. This disclaimer is enough.]

Today is mother's day and a 6 year old (Y/n) was just finishing writing their letter for (M/n). The only piece of their gift that they hand made all on their own.

It arguably crudely made drawing of little (Y/n) and (F/n) handing over giant gift boxes to (M/n) who was sitting on a throne with a giant crown with the phrase "Happie Mother's Dai! I luv you -(Y/n)", the handwriting was a bit wonky and it was a bit misspelled, but (Y/n) had tried their very best.

The only thing left to do was wait for their uncle to come pick them up for their quest in fetching three more items to finalize the perfect gift for the best mom ever!

'Maybe I should go see what papa's up to!' Little (Y/n) thought as they quickly cleaned up their mess before running into the art room in the house.

(F/n) sighed, "Well. Here's to hoping it dries before she gets back with her friends." he said to no one in particular before lifting his beer and taking a sip.

"Papa! Papa!" Little (Y/n) shouted as they bolted into the room.

"There's my little firecracker!" (F/n) said enthusiastically, lifting the small child and spinning around twice, "What do you think?"

(F/n) and (Y/n) turned to the painting.

"Woah... It's awesome!" (Y/n) cheered.

"Thanks, tiny." (F/n) ruffled (Y/n)'s hair, "What have you been up to this morning?"

Little (Y/n) was quick to lift their card and (F/n) was quick to take it and examine it.

"Welp... There goes my attempt on wooing your mother with art. Seems you got me beat!" (F/n) fake-lamented.

(Y/n) giggled.

"It's your uncle!" A voice called out from the doorway.

"Uncle Quack!" Little (Y/n) cheered as (F/n) put them down and they ran up to greet the man with a high five.

"Ready to go on a quest of epic proportions to gather the perfect gift for thee mother?" Uncle Quack asked.

"Yeah!" (Y/n) yelled excitedly.

"Go get me your battle armor, yeah (Y/n)?" (F/n) said.

(Y/n) nodded and ran out the room.

Uncle Quack sighed, "Seriously? You're making (Y/n) wear the knee pads?"

"And the elbow pads." (F/n) clarified.

"(F/n)-" Uncle Quack started.

"I know. We know... but the therapist said it was fine. One step at a time. We're... trying ok? We actually enrolled them in school for next year that's fucking terrifing." (F/n) responded.

Uncle Quack sighed and patted (F/n) shoulder.

(Y/n) ran back into the room carrying the knee and elbow pads.

"Alright! Ready to gear up, little warrior?" (F/n) said with a smile.

"Yes!" (Y/n) cheered.

(F/n) helped (Y/n) put on their knee and elbow pads which were custom spray painted by (F/n) to have the Ninja spiral in bright red with flames coming out of it.
