Roman stood on his balcony. Off the front of the balcony was the royal garden. But if you looked off the right side you could see the front of castle and who was walking up to it. Carriages filled the front court yard, from all different lands. Roman sighed, he didn't want to do this. He didn't want to find a suitor. He had no problem ruling alone until he finds someone he actually loves, he didn't want to marry for convenience.

Truth be told, Roman has never thought about ruling with a woman. There was no princess in his fairytale.

Roman sighed heavily and placed his head in his hands. A soft hand was placed on Roman's back causing him to jump. "Your highness, are you alright?" Virgil asked softly. Roman nodded slightly but didn't turn around. Virgil glared at him worried, "Are you sure?" Roman only nodded again. Virgil stood next to Roman and looked up at him. "Nervous?" He asked. "You could say that I suppose." Roman answered, "It's complicated, Virgil, I don't want to do this."

"I don't want a queen to rule with." Roman finally looked at Virgil. "I understand, your highness. I wouldn't want to marry someone I didn't know either." Virgil said looking over at all the carriage. "Roman. Just call me Roman when we're alone, please." Virgil nodded. "Why don't you tell your father you don't want to be married?" He asked. Roman shook his head, "It's not that easy, Virgil. It's not that I don't want to be married. I don't want a wife." Virgil stared at Roman for a second, "I'm gay, Virgil! I don't want a relationship with any woman!" Roman's voice raised causing Virgil back away some. "Sorry, I didn't mean to raise my voice. I'm just so stressed. I'm not out to my parents yet."

Virgil nodded and leaned against the railing. Roman looked down at him and smiled some. "I don't know what I am." Virgil said quietly. "What?" Virgil shook his head, "I dunno, I've never experienced anything like that before, never even seen it." He explained. "Your parents weren't affectionate?" Roman asked, Virgil sighed sadly. "It was only my...father. My mother isn't in my life." Roman cocked his brow at the hesitation in Virgil's voice when talking of his dad. "I see, I apologize." Virgil waved him off.

They stood in silence, but it was comfortable. It was about mid-day so it was very hot. Virgil fanned himself lightly, unused to the warmth of his suit. Roman pulled on the edges of Virgil's suit jacket and helped Virgil out of it. "You don't need the jacket right now, it's too hot for it right now." Roman said has he laid Virgil's jacket on the railing. "What time do we have to be downstairs?" Virgil asked, looking up at Roman. "Technically, like an hour ago. But I'm waiting until someone comes for us." Roman chuckled some. "Are we gunna get in trouble?" Virgil asked. Roman shook his head no, "No, I'll just tell father I was nervous and you were helping me calm down. I won't let you get in trouble sweetheart, I promise." Virgil smiled some and flushed a light pink.

"Are you going to choose a girl tonight?
That-that sounds wrong." Roman laughed but shook his head. "I don't want a girl, we covered that. So I'll just say I didn't feel a connection between me and any of the girls they brought." Virgil nodded and they returned to a comfortable silence.

Minutes passed and a loud knock rang out on Roman's door. The sudden noise startled Virgil, Roman looked down at Virgil and made sure he was okay before turning to see who was at the door. It opened to reveal a panicked Patton. "Kiddos! You gotta get downstairs! Your father is not happy at all Roman!" Patton scolded, grabbing both boys and pulling them inside. He put Virgil's jacket back on him. He dragged them both to the throne room where the king and suitors were.

Roman sat on his throne and motioned for Virgil to stand next to him. King Arthur glared at them both. "Where have you been?" He growled. "Sorry, father, I was very nervous. Virgil helped me calm down. I wasn't ready to come down yet." Roman explained, glancing at Virgil. Arthur gave them a suspicious look but nodded anyway.

Virgil leaned down to Roman and whispered, "He's suspicious of us, Roman." Roman smiled at the use of his real name. "I know, but shh, be careful with not using honorifics, sweetheart, my father doesn't like when people don't call us by our titles." Roman told him with a smile. Virgil smirked down at him, "I'll be careful with not calling you honorifics when you be careful with calling me sweetheart. I don't think father dearest will approve of that." Roman flushed slightly and rolled his eyes. "Sure, sweetheart, but I do whatever I want, I am so to be king." Virgil cocked his eyebrow, "I'll get that out of you. You'll listen to me." Virgil teased. Roman smiled and winked, "I'll only ever listen to you, sweetheart."

Virgil rolled his eyes with a light smile, "I'm sure, now listen to your father. You are here to find a wife, not flirt with your assistant." Roman rolled his eyes, "Again, I do what I want." Virgil gave him a look, "You just said you'd over ever listen to me. And now I'm telling you to do something, so listen." Roman chuckled, "Of course, sweetheart, whatever you say." Virgil rolled his eyes playfully again and turned to watch the king and queen greet the princesses and their families walking in. It was gunna be a long day.
