Roman woke up in Virgil's arms. It was about mid day and the sun was shining brightly through the balcony doors. He sat up and stretched. He smiled at Virgil and sighed. He repositioned Virgil so he was laying down and he covered him up with the blanket.

Roman got out of bed and stretched again. He checked the clock and walked over to his closet. He took out an outfit and went to the bathroom to get ready.

Virgil woke up to the sound of watering running. He looked around for Roman before realizing the noise was coming from the bathroom. He yawned and stretched, getting out of bed. A knock rang out and the king walked in. "Is Roman awake yet?" He asked, looking around the room. Virgil nodded and pointed towards the bathroom. Arthur nodded but didn't move from where he was standing.

Roman opened the bathroom door and smiled towards Virgil. "Hi, sweetheart," Virgil's eyes widen and looked at the king, who was staring at Roman. Roman turned and looked at his father. He looked back at Virgil and then back to his father. "Leave us alone, Virgil." Arthur said, Virgil walked over to Roman. Roman nodded when he made eye contact with Virgil. Virgil walked past the king and out of the room.

"Father," Roman said, he kept a brave face but inside he was panicking. "Roman," Arthur breathed, "Do you want to explain that before we get started?" Roman sighed and shrugged. "I don't know, it's just what I call him sometimes." The king studied Roman's face. "We both know that isn't true, Roman. What is- Are you-?" He stumbled over his words. Roman fidgeted some, "What did you come in here for?"

"I wanted to apologize." Roman stared at his father, slightly surprised. "I was a king to you yesterday, and that is not what I am to you. I am your father, not your king. I was a fool, and I didn't realize how much I had hurt you. Your mother and Virgil made me realize that." He sighed and took a deep breath, "What I'm saying is, I want you happy. Whether that means you're with a woman, alone, or...with a man." He looked towards the door and back to Roman with a smile.

"W-what?" Roman stammered. The king smiled softly, "No straight man cuddles with his male assistant Roman, nor calls him sweetheart." He chuckled lightly, before seeing Roman's face full of worry and tears in his eyes. "Son, I'm not upset, if that is what makes you happy, then I'm happy. I've discussed it with your mother, and she apparently already knew of you sexuality or at least had an assumption. Mother's instinct, I suppose." Arthur took Roman into a hug. "I will always love you, Roman, you are my son. I want you happy no matter what."

Roman broke down in his father's arms. "What about the kingdom?" Roman sniffled. "What about them, son?" He petted Roman's hair. "What will they think about a gay king." The king sighed and held Roman closer. "I don't know, but I think it will be good for the kingdom. We need to open our kingdom walls to everyone, everyone needs to know they're safe here. No matter gender, race, or sexuality." Roman smiled and hugged his father tighter. "Thank you," Arthur smiled and gave Roman's shoulders a squeeze. "Of course, son."

The king held his son for a few moments longer before leaning back. "So what is going on between you and Virgil?" Roman flushed and shook his head. "Nothing, father, I just happen to find him cute." Arthur laughed and smiled. He hugged Roman again before standing up from the bed. "Well, I should be off. I'll stop by Virgil's room and tell him he's welcome back in your room." He winked at Roman and left the room.

A few moments later Virgil rushed into the room. He rushed to the bed and wiped Roman's tears away. "What happened, Roman? Did it go that bad?" Roman hugged Virgil and shook his head. "The opposite, sweetheart, he accepted me and wants me to marry who I love, even if it's a boy." Virgil smiled and pushed Roman away some, staying in his arms. "Oh, Ro, I'm so happy!" Roman smiled and nodded, "I am too, love," Virgil hugged Roman tighter.

"Love? That's new." Roman laughed some, "Thought I'd spice it up some." Virgil laughed and rolled his eyes. They finally let go of the hug and sat back on the bed. They heard footsteps come running and Remus busted into the room. "The first gay king!" He yelled and tackled Roman into a hug. "You talked to father?" Roman asked with a smile. "Yes! I'm so happy, Roman!" Roman laughed and pushed Remus off of him.

"I'm proud of you, dear," Arthur looked over at Eleanor. "Thank you, I couldn't do it without you." Eleanor smiled, and laid down next to Arthur. "I need to be a better father. I've been too hard on our boys." Eleanor sighed and nodded. "Yes, but you have time to fix it." Arthur nodded, "Roman's turn to be king, I need to be a father."
