King Arthur stood tall at the front of the room. There were about 20 princesses inside the castle to meet Roman. The families of the princesses were being held in the ballroom.

Virgil felt out of place. He was the only non royal in the room. He tugged at the bottom of suit jacket and looked at Roman. Roman was back to acting professional, he had tucked away his flirty demeanor he held earlier and acting as a prince should now.

Virgil looked over the room. All the women looked beautiful. All dressed in pretty dresses with their hair and makeup done. They looked like they were all fresh out of a fairytale. Any of these woman would look good at Roman's side.

"Ladies! So very sorry for the wait! It is a pleasure to have you all here with us today. As you know, you here for the chance to be choose by my son, Prince Roman, as his wife and soon to be queen." The king continued to go on and on about some royal blah that Virgil didn't understand. He tugged at his jacket again and fidgeted with the bottom.

His movements came to a stop when Roman grabbed his hands. "Are you alright, Virgil?" He asked softly, a worry expression spread across his face. Virgil nodded and gave a light smile. "Yeah, princey, I'm okay." Roman smiled at the nickname and nodded. He grabbed Virgil by his arm and pulled him to sit on the arm of his throne. "Sit until I have to greet these- uh- lovely women?" Virgil rolled his eyes and smacked Roman's arm. "Just cause you're not into them, doesn't mean they aren't lovely women." Roman smiled some and agreed.
____
Virgil stood at Roman's side as the first walked up. She was dressed in a light pink dress and long black hair, she was pretty. She curtsied and Roman took her hand and kissed the back of it. "Princess Elizabeth of Atrasta." She introduced. "It is a pleasure," They made small talk before Roman sent her away. He looked at his father and shook his head. The next girl walked up and curtsied. This continued and the line was slowly decreasing. Soon there was only
5 girls left. The first was dressed in a baby blue dress and had short brown hair. "Princess Cassie of Prowen." She introduced herself, Roman repeated what he had been doing. "Listen, you're cute but I do not wanna be here." Cassie said. Roman gave her a look. "What?" He asked, "You don't want to be here?" Cassie shook her head. "My parents made me. Like don't get me wrong, you something to pretty to look at but I don't want any romantic anything. Not my cup of tea." She told Roman who sighed through his nose. "Thank god, oh my god, listen I am so gay and do not want a wife at all." Cassie laughed and looked Roman up and down. "I could tell women weren't your thing" Roman laughed.

It was finally the last girl. She was in a baby yellow dress with long brown hair. She rushed up the stairs and looked at Roman. "Saving the prettiest for last? Cause I should never be last." Roman looked at Virgil who was staring at the princess. "Uh? Hello to you too? And you areeee?" Roman asked, he was confused. The princess scoffed and knocked her hair off her shoulder. "You should know. But I'm Princess Ella from Irera." Roman nodded and glanced at Virgil again. He felt bad for Virgil, he, himself, hated every second of this but he knows Virgil hated it more. "Listen, I already know you're choosing me. So let's just speed this up and you say yes so I can move in. And my first order is getting rid of this guy cause why does he follow you around." Roman looked her up and down. "His name is Virgil. And he's my assistant, thank you. You're dismissed." Roman said, sitting down in his throne and pulled Virgil to sit on the arm of the throne again.

He looked at his father and shook his head and waved for Ella to leave. A guard grabbed her arm and dragged her away, she didn't like this any. Arthur looked at Roman and cocked his head. "None of them? Really?" He asked. Roman shook his head. "No, father, none of them felt right." Arthur sighed and walked away.

Virgil rubbed Roman's shoulder. "That was the worse experience of my life." Roman laughed and looked at Virgil. "Sorry, sweetheart. I'll try to make it better for you next time." Virgil looked at him wide eyed, "Next time!?" Roman laughed and nodded. Virgil groaned and laid back against Roman's throne. "This shit sucks."
