Mistakes (Yuri X Male!Reader)

Chapter 4

As they walked together, the duo found themselves in a rather uncomfortable silence. Even if the students were all talking, the silence between the two of them could be felt. And it made them both uncomfortable. 

Normally, Y/N was fine when the other person didn't talk, but not in this particular situation. So he decided to think of something to talk to with Yuri. 

"So, how was your day ?" Y/N asked as Yuri didn't respond, eyes focusing on where she was walking. Y/N could see that her left hand was on her bag's suspender, while her right hand played with a strand of her hair, stressfully.

"Yuri ? Are you alright ?" Y/N asked as he found her behavior rather worrisome, even if he knew that she was the introvert type, this type of shyness was still something to witness. Yuri, then, snapped back into reality as she looked at Y/N bashfully and blushed. "H-Huh ? You w-were talking to m-me ?" Yuri asked, while playing with her hair. 

Y/N was a bit surprised but decided to play it off. "Yeah, I'm talking to you." He said softly as he knew that talking normally with shy people could put them off. 

And Y/N's normal voice wasn't the softest. So he decided to not shock her and tried to play it softly.

"S-Sorry." Yuri apologized once again. Y/N speculated that it was on of her language ticks, so he decided to not intervene on her apologizing. "I h-had a pretty... no-normal day, you ?" Yuri responded and asked in return, which made Y/N smile a bit. She was willing to talk, that's a plus.

"It was boring if I'm being honest, I hope it'll change." Y/N said as they walked towards the set of stairs leading to the 2nd floor. Yuri nodded and, once again, the bothersome silence imposed itself near the two of them.

Gripping her bag's suspender tightly, she took a deep breath and released it rapidly. "I... I started to r-read Boy's Abyss." Yuri said, Y/N was surprised that she did started to read it. This information made the boy a bit happy, as he let it show to Yuri with a smile. "Oh really ? Do you like it ?" Y/N asked, happy that she listened and actively read his recommendation.

"It's really great ! I like how the author is telling us the story of troubled personalities. Their drawings are really telling us that, for the protagonists, how the city is drowning them." Yuri said, rather passionately, which surprised Y/N. 

But he smiled a bit more as it was a good surprise.

Then, Yuri's purple eyes widened and looked at her left side, at the opposite of Y/N.

"S-S-Sorry, I r-rambled too much... Y-you must t-think I'm weird... " Yuri apologized once again. "No, not at all. I'm happy that you find it good enough to tell your mind on it. I hope you'll like it more when you'll read more." Y/N calmly and softly said as Yuri slowly looked towards the boy.

"It won't be a- a bother to you ?" Yuri asked sheepishly as she couldn't look Y/N directly in the eyes. "The opposite, I'd be happy to hear you." Y/N said, harboring a smile, which made Yuri blush. But she couldn't avert her eyes elsewhere. 

She found his smile beautiful.

Then, they found themselves just ahead the club's door. Y/N looked at Yuri and nodded, opening it.

"Hello everyone." "Good a-afternoon." Y/N and Yuri respectively greeted the members, Y/N looked inside the room to see Natsuki and Sayori talking about something.

The girls looked at the door as Sayori waved at the two with a smile, as Natsuki just nodded to them. "Hello you two ! I can't believe you came back, Y/N !" Sayori exclaimed as Y/N laughed a bit, putting his bag on a table near the back end wall of the room.

"Do I seem that unreliable ?" Y/N said with a joking tone, making Sayori laugh. "Will you be hurt if I say yes ?" Sayori said, joking with him. "You can't hurt me." Y/N said, plastering a cocky smile on his face. "I'd think of a way, don't you worry." Sayori said calmly as she walked to Natsuki.
