Mistakes (Yuri X Male!Reader)

Chapter 9

The sun rose into the sky as the singing of the birds woke Yuri up. The second where she woke up she checked the time, only to be exactly three minutes short of her alarm going off. She rubbed her eyes a bit and she disabled the alarm. Then she smiled as she closed her phone, she saw the reflection on her phone and cleared her voice, seemingly being serious. But then, the thought of what happened with Y/N the day before was clearly stuck on repeat in her head.

She couldn't help but to prepare herself as fast as possible, thinking that she would meet with Y/N faster. The epiphany of last night was something Yuri couldn't think she'd live one day, but there it was. She was in love, or at the very least, she had a tiny bit of romantic feelings for him. 

He paid attention to her like nobody did before. He talked to her like nobody did, he looked at her like nobody did. Safe to say that his mere presence calmed Yuri down and was drowning her into a comfortable feeling. Similarly to a warm blanket after a cold day. It was warming her heart and her cheeks each time she thought of his lips touching her head.

"Yuri ?" Her mom asked for her, as Yuri was standing before the microwave. "O-Oh, hello mom." Yuri said as she surprised herself, she knew that she had this tendency of being so much in her thoughts that she would simply ignore the real world. But here ? She walked all the way downstairs, had her mug filled with coffee and was just near the microwave. Oh boy the autopilot was at 101%.

"Is something wrong ?" Her mom asked with a worried voice. Yuri was grateful for her life, she had caring parents, although her father wasn't here as much as his mother, she knew that her father loved her. Her parents had no problems with money, she even considered herself as being rich.

The problem is that during middle school and her first year in high school, she developed her self-esteem issues. Truth be told, it wasn't because of her alone.

"N-No, quite the opposite in fact." Yuri said blushing while putting her mug into the microwave. "Oh, does your ever-present smile is caused by this boy ?" Her mom said, showing a bit of a teasing voice. "M-Mom !" Yuri blushed a bit more as she, once again, remembered his arms surrounding her neck and her shoulders. 

"Come on, you think I didn't see it ? I even called you when you came back, but you went into your room in a flash, without even responding." She said, smiling towards her daughter who took out her mug and began to drink the coffee. 

Yuri didn't know how to respond, well she knew, but she couldn't even muster the courage to say that to her mother. "Does this boy have a special place ?" Her mother asked, almost as she knew it.

Well, looking at Yuri, you'd be sure that it was regarding feelings. 

"His name i-is Y/N, and ..." She trailed off, as if she was searching for the right words. "Annnnd ?" Her mother stretched the word, hoping that Yuri would come clean about who was the boy for her. "Is he your boyfriend ?" She said, showing a bit of a mischievous smile, the good one. Yuri's blush came into full power as she only looked at her mug, looking at the rippling coffee caused by her slight trembling.

"No, n-not yet..." She said without meaning the last part, but once she realized, she couldn't take it as she finished her coffee in one go and rushed towards the bathroom.

Her morning routine wasn't helped by her state of clumsiness caused by the non-stop revelation in her mind. Was she willing to be a couple with Y/N. Yeah, her feelings was growing each day she spent time with him. Yeah, she couldn't shake off the comfort and the warmth he gave to her. 

'Oh.'

Once she realized that it was the case, her mind went all over the place. Was he willing too ? Was she the comfort and the warmth she felt for him ? Or even simpler, was he in love with her ? She started to feel what every person in love feared. This day marked the first week since they knew each other. So, of course a person wouldn't harbor romantic feelings for someone this quick. Yuri was an exception, but ... Was Y/N one too ?
